Gaelan’s War
Gaelan Kelly #1
by
Genre: Horror / Thriller / Supernatural
My Review
Gaelan returns from the war only to have to fight another one at home. Dumped by his girlfriend and disillusioned, his parent’s take him on a trip to boost him up. What happens next is straight out of a horror movie and Gaelan will stop at nothing to avenge the horrific death of his parents.
I’d suggest you set aside some time when you start this book. It hooks you quickly and you’ll find it hard to stop once you start. From horror to vengeance, it doesn’t let up.
Gaelan is a damaged man. Up against a foe that defies belief, he sets a course to get his revenge. I’m big on character driven stories and I think Gaelan’s journey to accept what he’s up against and use it to further his vengeance was my favorite part of the story. It kept me focused and eager to see how he put his experience to work and used things to his advantage.
I see this is the author’s debut novel. Sure doesn’t read like it. The writing is strong and the plot and character development are excellent.
A character study as much as a horror thriller, I was delighted by this first book and excited to know there will be more. If you enjoy a good thriller with some horror thrown in, along with some beasts that will give you the shivers, you ought to try this one.
5 Stars

Sounds good, I love thrillers with horror thrown in! I think I should write all my review as Monday Minis, I’d get through them a lot quicker lol
This one caught me by surprise. So glad I had the opportunity to read it. And My Monday Minis usually aren’t too mini. LOL I mean to write short reviews and they end up not so short.
I’m sort of intrigued by the beasts…might need to do some checking up on this one.
Gong by what I feel you look for in a story, I think you’d enjoy Gaelan’s War. I think you might be able to guess what the first creature is by the cover. The others are different and not given as much focus. With the story line, I’m hoping there will be more about them in the upcoming books. The author is working on the next two now. I’m excited to continue with the trilogy.
oh wow just that covers tells me the story is intense! Monsters and war PTSD is an intense combination for sure!
I wanted to read this book before I even looked at the cover. I was more excited after I did. It’s splendid and perfect for the story inside.
oooo creepy cool cover. Sounds like a winner.

The cover is excellent! I know you’d like this one too.
I like that this blends a suspense thriller with horror.
A great blend, for sure, Kim!
Sounds like a good one! I’m glad that you enjoyed it so much! 🙂
It was the best and everything I look for in a thriller.
I am starting to get more interested in Horror. I will have to keep this one in mind. Thanks for sharing your review!
