This is my own version of a weekly book haul and all things new on fuonlyknew.

I’m also linking up with The Sunday Post hosted by Kimberly @Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

Sunday Post

Some chit chat.

Thanks to everybody for your well wishes about my pink eye. It’s all better now. Just in time for a five day weekend. I’ve been watching the telly, reading a bunch of books and taking some relaxing naps. I love a good nap. When I was younger, I wouldn’t take them. Thought it was a waste of time. Now I like to fit them in here and there. I wake up 20 to 30 minutes later feeling rested and alert. Do you like to take naps?

I hope you don’t mind, but I’m sharing more pictures of my plants.

This is my sega from last week.

20180420_121530

Now that the sega has sprouted I cut off the old leaves and the sprouts are now opening and looking like leaves. It’s also about a foot taller.

20180428_093117

And remember this from last week? It was just one bloom.

20180420_121320

Just one week later.

20180428_092908

See how the flowers bloom from the top down. If you look closely, you can see the third bloom starting to turn pink. The yellow and green buds below will grow and turn pink, stacking one on the other. It happens really fast.

And I thought I’d share a recent picture of Flora. She’s growing and growing.

That’s all folks.

Have a fabulousΒ  Sunday!

I hated naps as a kid and teenager- yup, thought they were a waste of time- but now I kinda like ’em once in a while. I realize now my cats are onto something lol- a little quick snooze is a great pick me up πŸ™‚

Wow your stuff’s growing! Everything here is budding out but it’s been slow with the cold temps, but I’ve noticed the last few days it’s starting to speed up now with the sunshine and somewhat warmer temps.

    Monsterland and Famished look fun!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I never could take naps when younger. Now I like one every once in a while. I feel recharged afterwards. Plus, I think I just get bored sometimes. LOL Everything s growing so fast here. So many different flowers and colors of green!

  2. Jenea says:

Naps are the best! All the plants look amazing! Hope you enjoy those books too. πŸ™‚

    • fuonlyknew says:

A quick power nap is refreshing. While taking pictures of my plants I spotted a bunch of geckos. They wouldn’t cooperate for the camera though.

  3. I’ve never been able to take naps unless I’m sick, no matter how much I need them. Glad you are feeling better!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I never used to be able to. Now I can if I just relax and let it happen. I do feel better afterwards too. More energized.

  4. kozbisa says:

There are countries, where people take naps to recharge at work. I have read about it, but I have never been a napper. I actually only sleep about 5 hours a night, and that’s on a good night, but an improvement over my insomnia. I am happy your eye is better, and your flowers are beautiful!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I’ve seen that on television before. When I used to use a tanning bed, I’d drift off until it shut down. Loved those quick naps. I sleep about the same amount as you at night. If I do take a nap my dog is my alarm clock. He’s always barking at something he spots out the window. LOL

  5. I like taking naps but my naps end up longer than 20 to 30 minutes and then it’s hard to get up and going, so I don’t do much of them any more. πŸ™‚

Your plants are looking great! That purple one is so pretty!

Have a great week and happy reading!

    • fuonlyknew says:

Long naps leave me feeling more tired. LOL My plants are thriving and I’m enjoying watching them grow:)

  6. I love seeing your plants. I finally got my veggies transplanted into their big containers this weekend. I’m ready for them to take off.

  7. I wish I could take more naps in the day, but I find that if I do, I can’t do a short nap, because I get so conformable and then it messes me over when I go to sleep later on! And you plant is looking so pretty now! I hope you have a great week πŸ™‚

  8. I love naps! Its pretty much my whole weekend! Love the plant pics! Its finally getting a bit warmer here so things might actually start growing. Have a great week!

  9. I love when you share your garden photos! Flora is growing well, and that pink flower is beautiful! What is it? I’m so ignorant about these things… well, I recognize a lot of the stuff that grows where I live, but not your more exotic (to me) warmer-weather plants.

As for naps, I wish I had time for more of them! I can’t nap for 20 minutes, though. If I take a nap, it’s usually for an hour or two — a whole sleep cycle, I guess.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I have no idea what the flower is. I keep meaning to stop at the local nursery and ask them. Got to remember to do that! I have to be careful about naps and not take them when my dog is sleeping. He usually barks at something he sees ot the window and wakes me up. LOL

  10. I don’t take naps except occasionally on weekends but I think I should. It’s a healthy habit. Aren’t freebies fun?

  11. Kathy_A says:

I don’t always take naps but when I do I feel refreshed. And then I can stay up to read lol. I hope you are feeling better and enjoy your time off. The flowers look beautiful.

    • fuonlyknew says:

That is a benefit to taking a long nap. LOL I can’t get to sleep and usually devour a book.

  12. Beware Of The Reader says:

Thanks once more for the freebies Laura! I’m happy your pink eye is now better (I love pink but it’s indeed an unusual color on the eye). Your garden is just so lush!!! heppy Sunday.

  13. My husband is like you. He can sit down for 20 minutes, fall asleep and then be much better. If I can settle down enough to go to sleep I’ll always sleep for at least an hour and then wake up groggy and grumpy. I envy you guys! Love the plant pics! It’s finally getting warm up here and I’m going to need to get some plants in the ground!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I do sometimes take a longer nap and feel groggy too. I try to avoid those. LOL It’s gorgeous here and I got in the pool!

  14. Your plants look so great. I’m so glad it’s finally starting to be more spring-like here. I didn’t know Monsterland Reanimated is out. I must grab that one and make time for it. I really liked the first one.

    • fuonlyknew says:

Everything is growing so fast. It seemed like spring would never get here! Yep, the second Monsterland book came out this month. It’s waiting on my night stand.

  15. S. J. Pajonas (spajonas) says:

I love all your plants! How pretty! I’m much better at taking morning naps than afternoon naps, and I try to take at least one per week. πŸ™‚

    • fuonlyknew says:

It’s been so fun sharing my plants. I have more to come too:) I prefer morning naps too and usually grab a chance on the weekends.

  16. Yvonne says:

Love those pictures. Very nice. I’ve never been much of a nap taker. I do like the idea of them though πŸ™‚ Have a great week!

  17. heh love the covers on your new books! thanks for the heads up on the freebies, picked up a bunch. Oh and thank you for sharing those pictures, the flowers are so beautiful, missing that around here

    • fuonlyknew says:

I love the covers too! And enjoy the freebies. I had fun browsing for them and try to grab something everyone might like.

  18. I wish I could take naps but I think I’m physically incapable! XD Great new reads and thanks for the freebies! πŸ˜€

    • fuonlyknew says:

I never used to be able to. I’d be almost asleep and startle awake. Now I have no problem. LOL

  19. A Renfro says:

Naps are essential having two kids to take care of each day. I always try for twenty or thirty minutes, but turn off my alarm and sleep longer. Plants look great by the way and I am glad to hear you are getting better. Have a great week.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I remember sneaking in naps when my son was little. He was a great alarm clock too! LOL

  20. I love the name Boogie House! That needs to be a scary horror about a washed up disco dance champion turned serial killer…Sadly I’ve tried Roger Hayden and wasn’t a fan of his work but thanks for the heads up anyway!

    • fuonlyknew says:

LOL Now you should write a book about that synopsis! And I’ll keep watching for other books you might not have read:)

  21. I wish I could nap, but I usually can’t actually fall asleep. I guess I get a little bit of “rest,” but it’s just not the same. I don’t fall asleep all that easily at night either, so I guess I shouldn’t be surprised.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I fall asleep faster during the day. Probably why I love naps. At night I toss and turn.

  22. I cannot nap! I have never been able to do that. I’m not a good sleeper at the best of times, but it’s been that way for over 20 years now.

I love your plants! I can’t wait for things to start blooming around here. Have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I never used to take naps. Now I sometimes have to make myself stay awake if its too late in the day. LOL

  23. Heidi says:

I love seeing your plant pictures. It is amazing how quickly they are growing. You received lots of books that look perfect for a rainy night at home. Happy reading.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I sure enjoy sharing my plants and I’m always surprised when I see how much they’ve grown in just a week! I sure did get some good books and now I need a rainy day. LOL

  24. sjhigbee says:

I cannot get over how FAST your plants grow! The pink flower is just so stunning… Refuge Planet looks like fun. Have a lovely 5-day weekend and enjoy your books, your garden and your naps:))

    • fuonlyknew says:

I know. Everything is just thriving! I’m excited to keep sharing the flower as it looks more and more like a pineapple. Refuge Planet sounded good and it’s the first two books!

  25. WHERE ARE MY BANANAS? Ha ha. Flora is a superstar. I’m still loving all of the garden photos. Keep them coming. 🌿

I like naps, but they don’t like me. If I get less than an hour I feel groggy, but if I nap more than an hour I can’t get to sleep at night… and then I need a nap the next day. πŸ˜‚

I am happy to hear the pink-eye is gone! I hope you are having a stellar week. ☺

    • fuonlyknew says:

I decided to skip a week. The bananas are growing like mad and I’ll be sharing them next week. I was busy clearing out all of the weeds. And I get the nap thing. It can be good or bad. LOL Thanks, my eyes are bright and shiny again!
