This is my own version of a weekly book haul and all things new on fuonlyknew.

I’m also linking up with The Sunday Post hosted by Kimberly @Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

Sunday Post

Some chit chat.

I thought it was so funny that I just recovered from pink eye and then watched this week’s episode of Big Bang Theory. They all came down with it. LOL It was back to work after a long weekend off and I actually felt better for it physically. I get these muscle spasms in my back and the physical work helps alleviate them. Weird? Guess that means I can’t quit my job. Too many days off in a row and they start coming back, so I’m going to try getting back into Yoga. It sucks when you get older.

Look at this pretty!  There’s another ring of pink blossom. See those yellow ones below. By next week they will be pink and so on and so on.

I wanted to share how big they actually are. Quigley helped with that. He’s saying, “My how you’ve grown.”

20180505_111219

And I also wanted to share a picture showing how big Flora’s leaves are getting. They will actually get much bigger than this. Quigley had to get in on it too. LOL

I think you get a better idea of size from using my hand.

That’s all folks.

Have a fabulous  Sunday!

  1. Glad your pink eye is better! And huh, well, I guess that’s a good thing that your work helps with your back rather than makes it worse at least, right? Ooh your flowers are looking so pretty!

    • fuonlyknew says:

My work does keep me in shape while also causing some physical problems. I’ll accept that! LOL

  2. Greg says:

Glad the pink eye is gone! And yeah it’s weird how sometimes the body does BETTER when we work it? I know if I sit around too much I end up getting stiffer too or whatever, I guess we fall out of shape fast?!?

Quigley ha ha getting in on the action. 🙂

Ooh I love those Witch titles, especially Witch At Odds!

    • fuonlyknew says:

Yeah, I won’t be leaving my job any time soon. LOL Quig went from playing camera shy to sticking his nose in all the pictures.

  3. Pink eye, sucks! Glad to hear it’s getting better. Your plants and flowers are beautiful! Happy reading Laura! 🙂

    • fuonlyknew says:

Yes it does. It actually went away fairly quickly. Lucky me! And I can now see and enjoy my plants and actually read again.

  4. Trin Carl says:

There are some weird coincidences out there. Here’s hoping the best coincidences come at you this week. #sundaypost

  5. I’m glad you got rid of the pink-eye, even if you did so by sharing it with the cast of Big Bang Theory :p
Yeah, I need to stay rather active with my back as well… it’s really weird. But I guess it’s also good – so I don’t just slouch in an armchair to read that way.
Your flowers are gorgeous! I love the different shades of pink, and I’m sure they smell good, too.
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading.

    • fuonlyknew says:

Don’t tell the Big Bang gang that I gave them pink eye! LOL My job does keep me in shape and I know now that I need to find an alternative way to keep my muscles stretched when I have too many days off. I’m going to start doing yoga again. The flowers do smell good. Kind of like lilacs which I love.

  6. Emma says:

They say movement is better for aches and pains that not trying to move. I have arthritis and the more I exercise the easier it is to move.

  7. I love the Big Bang Theory but I’ve got about 6 episodes to catch up on at the moment. 🙁 Can’t wait to see Sheldon and Amy’s wedding! 🙂
    Have a good week!

  8. sjhigbee says:

Hm… pink eye – I recall the joys of that when teaching. Glad it’s gone! Thank you for more pics of your beautiful pink flower – isn’t it growing fast?? And btw – I’m VERY impressed at how your nail varnish matches your flipflops! I’ve started the Juliet Harper series and enjoyed it – I’m hoping to read the next in the series sometime soon:). In the meantime, have a great week – and I hope those spasms go away!

    • fuonlyknew says:

You noticed that. I have nail varnish to match each pair of flip flops. I forgot the toenails though. LOL And I have a rainbow collection of them. The flowers are so pretty and I can’t wait to share when they are fully bloomed. They look like pink pineapples!

  9. The Enchanted Book Cafe looks like a good cozy. I am loving how your garden is coming along. Spring is finally here! Sorry about the pink eye, that is awful.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I like the title and cover too. I hope to get started on it soon. I do love cozies:) And my plants are doing so well. Love watching them grow each week.

  10. Beware Of The Reader says:

Oh you were selected for Platform Dwellers! I applied but so far Rockstar Book Tour never answered my requests…. Now the garden gets more beautiful every week! Happy Sunday.

    • fuonlyknew says:

Rockstar has limited spots for many of their tours. I think it’s all about getting in quickly. I’ve missed some others I wanted to share. They sure have good books and authors. Sharing my plants has been such fun. I don’t know what I’ll do when they are all done for the year. LOL

  11. Glad you pink eye is all healed up. I had that a few years ago, it’s no fun.
    Your flowers are gorgeous!

Have a great week, Laura! Happy Reading!

  12. vvb32 reads says:

Ah yes, the aches and pains of aging. Hope things fare better this week. Enjoy your latest haul.

  13. Loved this week’s big bang! Their eyes looked so icky though! I haven’t had pink eye in YEARS but man, it looks miserable!
The plants are looking good!!! Have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

Mine weren’t as bad as theirs. They kind of overdid it. But it still was yucky and painful. All better now!

  14. Jenea says:

Yay, for no more pink eye!!! Flora is growing so well, and I so want to know what that pink flower is. I showed it to my daughter and she is trying to figure out what it is too. 😉 Enjoy the new additions to your shelf. 🙂

    • fuonlyknew says:

I called my local nursery and they will help me figure out what the flower is this week. I just have to find time to stop and show them a picture.

  15. Oh, pink eye is the worst! Love the pink blossoms…and Flora’s growth.

The Enchanted Garden Cafe looks tempting. Enjoy your week, and here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES

    • fuonlyknew says:

My eyes weren’t pretty but the flowers were. LOL Flora is getting so big. I’m excited to see how large her leaves get this year.

  16. Wow, your flowers and plants are doing great! How is your banana and pecan trees doing?

    Have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I just finished clearing up the banana trees today and will share pics next week. And some of the pecan trees too. They are fully leaved now!

  17. I’m glad you’re feeling better. Quigley is adorable. Have a great week!

  18. Oooh! Your garden looks so lovely! Lots of great books you got here!

    Here’s my Sunday Post!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I sure am enjoying watching everything grow and sharing with everyone. And I have some good pool side reads!

  19. Pink eye is no fun! Glad you are better.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I swear its worse as an adult than when I was a kid. LOL I’m all better now. Thanks:)

  20. Your pink blossoms are lovely! I like the sound of The Enchanted Garden Cafe. Enjoy your reading week.

  21. Huh! You need reverse workman’s comp—a guarantee that you’ll never have to stop working so you’re not in physical pain. I’ll bet that claim would be unique!

  22. I had pink eye a few years back and it sucked. Yes, the Big Bang episode was really funny. I love that bloom and Quigley is so awesome! Good luck with the yoga.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I thought pink eye was a young perswon thing. I have had it several times as an adult and no one in the house had it but me. LOL Yeah, Quig had to get in on the action. LOL

  23. i like the Juliette Harper covers-simple but good use of colour. Enjoy your books!

  24. I hope your back is feeling better. I need to start doing yoga again, too. Your flowers looks beautiful.

    Have a great week!

  25. Anna Pittman says:

I love yoga! Have you ever heard of Yoga with Adriene? It’s a youtube channel full of amazing yoga videos you can do at home

  26. I love the special appearance by Quigley this week 🙂 Sorry about the pinkeye. I’ve had it numerous times and it always sucks. I also second Yoga With Adrienne. She’s gentle and a wonderful instructor. I suffer from lower back pain and her vids help a lot.

    • fuonlyknew says:

Quigley wasn’t a bit camera shy this week. LOL And I’m definitely going to check out Yoga With Adrienne now!

  27. Pink eye, ugh! No fun. I’m glad you’re doing better. And your garden continues to astound me. Such lush greenery, and such pretty flowers! I see several people have suggested Yoga With Adrienne. I’m going to check that out; I, too, am getting creakier in my middle age.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I’m all better. I can go another 20 years before I get it again. LOL Thanks for sharing. I’ll check out the yoga recommendation.

  28. Heidi says:

I can’t believe how big and beautiful your plants are getting every week. It’s finally getting warmer here so the plants are blooming and budding. Love Spring. Glad you got over your pink eye. yuck.

  29. Love those pink flowers – so beautiful!
I keep telling myself I need to get back into yoga too but lack motivation. Maybe we need a book bloggers yoga group? With poses that are specifically suited to reading?!

  30. Daniela Ark says:

Love the blossoms! Sometimes I find it therapeutic when I see my vicissitudes on screen 🙂 Gad to hear you are feeling better for it physically. Yup I’ve heard physical activity does help with some issues 🙂 so, don’t quit my job just yet 😉 And yes we should be young forever!

    • fuonlyknew says:

It’s crazy busy this week at work and I’ve only had one small muscle spasm. I think the yoga and swimming help too. Good thing I enjoy doing all three. LOL

  31. Great post as always and I see even Quigley likes the plant. lol
    sherry @ fundinmental

    • fuonlyknew says:

Last week I couldn’t get him to hold still. This time he was all up my business. LOL We had fun.

  32. S. J. Pajonas (spajonas) says:

Everything is in bloom here too, which is so nice!

  33. The Enchanted Garden Café looks lovely and perfect for this time of year. That’s too funny about the timing of The Big Bang Theory. I’ve only had pink eye once but I don’t have fond memories! I’ve been loving yoga lately. I’ve got some aches and pains from old injuries and it’s helped so much. I’m a big fan of Yoga with Adriene’s channel on YouTube. I’m in the middle of her first 30 Days challenge and am really loving it. Hope you’re having a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I’m just starting on the yoga. Had to order a new mat first. And yes, The Enchanted Garden Cafe is a perfect summer read. I can’t resist that cover.

  34. Tammy says:

I love that Quigley photo bombed you! He’s adorable, and I love your plants too. Yay for spring!

    • fuonlyknew says:

He sure did. LOL When I actually plan to take photos he doesn’t cooperate. I gave him a bath and let him loose to roll on the lawn. Every time I lined up a good pic of him rolling with all four feet in the air he’d quickly lie flat or get up. LOL

  35. Amy says:

Ugh pink eye sucks 🙁 Glad you’re better, though.

Love those photos! Have a great week 🙂

  36. Melissa (My World...in words and pages) says:

I always find it ironic when I have or deal with something then see it on a tv show. 🙂 Flowers are looking great! Have a great week.

  37. Quigley! He is too cute and I love that name. Flora is definitely the queen of the garden, but… BANANAS! Ha ha. 🍌

I read somewhere that they did the pink eye episode on Big Bang because one of the cast actually had pink eye and they didn’t want to take a break from filming so they wrote it into the show. Ha ha. I don’t know how true that is. 👀

Try taking a magnesium supplement to help your muscle spasms. I hope you have been having a good week. 🌞

    • fuonlyknew says:

I’ll be sharing my banana trees next week. They are getting so big! That actually makes sense. Pink eye doesn’t go away over night. And thanks, I’ll check into the supplement.
