This is my own version of a weekly book haul and all things new on fuonlyknew.

I’m also linking up with The Sunday Post hosted by Kimberly @Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

~~~~~
Some chit chat.
I’m experiencing something strange for me. Aside from the excuse of when my internet was down for over a week, I seem to be in a bit of a slump. I hardly seem to post any of my usually memes and features. And I’m seriously behind on sharing reviews. Just can’t seem to be able to get back into the groove here. I’m thinking maybe it’s the pool’s fault. Can’t seem to stay out of it. LOL
It’s been a while since I shared some photos of my plants. They are thriving.
Check out Flora.
And this gorgeous bloom. It’s almost as big as my head.
20180609_170544
And the banana trees and other tropical plants are growing in leaps and bounds.
20180609_170517
The Sega seed ball is really starting to form. It’s about three feet tall.
20180609_170609
If you look closely you can see it starting to close on top. This is the biggest one I ever had and should give me tons of new sega seeds. I’ll share how to harvest them this coming winter.
I love my backyard!
That’s all for this week.
Have a fabulous  Sunday!
  1. Maree Jane says:
    Your plants look amazing! Have a great week 🙂
  2. Tressa S says:
    I really wish we had a pool so I could be in it all the time! I debated just buying an above ground pool this year, but I just couldn’t do it since it seems a percentage come with leaks or don’t work properly. Love the plants! I’ve always wanted a banana tree. Some day. 🙂 Have a fabulous week, Laura!
  3. Greg Hill says:
    Holy cow the banana trees/ tropical stuff are growing! And you know I can see that- if I had a pool I’d probably be living in it!
    Yikes, that cover for Class 5 scares me. 🙂 Stranded looks good though.
    • fuonlyknew says:
      I know. Everything is huge this year! Plenty of pool side reading for me too. No lack of good reads either, Greg:)
  4. I miss my pool and didn’t blog then…I imagine I would blame the pool. What you need is a waterproof laptop and a floating desk!
  5. Jenea says:
    The least are growing so fast, they’re beautiful. I hope your slump passes soon, although the pool does sounds nice. Have a great week.
  6. I love your backyard, too! I wish I could join you. 😊
    I haven’t been too slumpy since I cut down to 2-3 posts a week. It might even be worth getting my Netflix 30-day free trial because I’ll have some extra time to watch it. ☺
    Have a wonderful week and enjoy your pool. 🌞
    • fuonlyknew says:
      I do love the pool. I need to set up my outside office again. Used to do a lot of work out there and when I got hot I took a quick dip:)
  7. Your plants are looking great! I know what you mean about slumping, I call it the spring blues since spring just wasn’t it’s normal self. I have been having a hard time making myself do some reviews which is why I have been doing some mini reviews in groups of threes…lol. I have gotten back into single reviews but still behind…lol.
    Have a great week!
    • fuonlyknew says:
      I’m behind on my audibles too. I have a long weekend coming up next week and PLAN to get cracking on those reviews!
  8. Your plants are gorgeous! Thank you for sharing the pictures! And if I had a pool, I’d have a hard time getting out of it as well. LOL
    Have a great week!
    • fuonlyknew says:
      I don’t even get much reading outside right now. I usually end up doing some weeding in the flower beds and swimming. Odd year for me. LOL
  9. kozbisa says:
    Your yard is looking awesome, and if you can see that from the pool, what a wonderful way to while away your day.
    • fuonlyknew says:
      It’s especially nice to look at the house from the pool when it is just getting dark. You’re snug under the tea cup warm water and watching the house lights begin to take on a cozy glow. I need to capture that picture!
  10. It’s alright to take time off blogging sometimes. In fact, my blog has been giving me the worst time technologically (a lot of problems with Jetpack..) and Instagram broke too, so I’m just wondering whether I should take a hiatus altogether.
    Flora looks great 🙂 and your hydrangea looks amazing! Don’t they just look like paper flowers? So beautiful.
    Enjoy your week!
    • fuonlyknew says:
      The break wasn’t but choice but i ended up realizing I needed it. Summer is a slow down on my blog too so I will just take things as they come and enjoy being outside.
  11. Blogging slumps are the worst! I hope you’re able to pull yourself out of it soon! Blood Moon Carnival looks awesome! I’m off to check that out now!
    • fuonlyknew says:
      I’ve never had a slump like this. Now I know what everyone talks about. I’m sure the mojo will return. LOL
  12. sjhigbee says:
    Well with a garden like that AND a pool, why would you want to trudge indoors and attend to your blog?? You can do that when the sun isn’t shining and the plants aren’t growing… Enjoy, Laura – I’ve now got to roll up my sleeves and catch up after nearly a fortnight without the internet!
    • fuonlyknew says:
      But night is for my shows and movies so it will have to be rainy days for catching up. LOL Good luck with your catching up too!
  13. We have a pool down the street that is part of these condos…but I don’t like going there. My daughter has one in her backyard, so that’s the best I can do.
    I like seeing your plants…but that sega seed ball makes me want to sneeze. LOL
    Enjoy your week, whether reading or swimming. Here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES
    • fuonlyknew says:
      It was the perfect day today. Sunny and hot with low humidity. I spend most of it outside. Got a long weekend coming up next week and planning to do more of the same:)
  14. Beware Of The Reader says:
    Definitely the pool fault! I would post less if I had one and sunny days 😉 Happy Sunday!
  15. Berls says:
    Wow your garden is looking great! Enjoy the pool and don’t stress about the blog. Sometimes we just have to unplug and if I had easy, quick access to a pool I’d probably be doing the same thing 🙂 Have a great week!
  16. StackingMy BookShelves says:
    Wow, Flora has grown and the sage is amazing! Have a wonderful week!
    Mary my #Sunday Roundup #22!
  17. It is always hard to get back in the swing of things after a break – forced or otherwise – and I imagine doubly hard when there’s a pool as another option! That bloom is crazy gorgeous! I love the color. All my hydrangeas are blue and while they’re really pretty I’d like more purple. I know that has something to do with soil but have never been motivated enough to actually do something about it. Have a great week!
    • fuonlyknew says:
      I’m surprised that the bloom is so colorful. I didn’t do anything with the soil this year but have been tending to the plant a lot. Keeping it pinched back and such. ‘m sure my blogging mojo will return. I think I feel it stirring now. LOL
  18. Yvonne says:
    Your plants look great. That happens to me after a break…I can’t get back into the swing of things right away.
    I have some of those freebies, too.
    Hope you have a great week!
    • fuonlyknew says:
      I’m doing some drafts now and starting to get the fun feeling back. I sure have a lot to share now. LOL
  19. Your plants look beautiful…especially the purple one. Class 5 looks scary. The Signal looks interesting.
    • fuonlyknew says:
      Hi Katherine. I see you published on new book! Will be in touch about our Tag Team stuff. Sherry and I have both had a lot of things going on. I couldn’t resist Class 5. LOL
      Had to change my email too. If I haven’t sent it to you, it’s on my About Me page.
      • Yes, I just published the 5th SPOOKIE TOWN MURDER MYSTERY What Lies Beneath the Graves. The 1st one Scraps of Paper is still free. The series is doing really really well (and I have no idea why). Oh, also, you will be glad to hear I am getting reading to write a 5th DINOSAUR LAKE book, as well. As soon as I get done with Witches II: Apocalypse’s Audible audio Book. I have a truly great narrator, Nila Hagood. Don’t worry about losing your book reviewing mojo…it will return. I’ve gone through dry spells like that, too. Sometimes you just have to step away and enjoy life. Wish I had a pool. Sigh. It’s 98 degrees here today and it will be over 90 for the next 9 days. Yeck. I hate hot weather.
      • fuonlyknew says:
        I’m so ready to get back to your books! And another Dinosaur Lake book. Can’t wait and have to tell Sherry! Summer is chaotic but we hope to feature you soon:)
      • Yikes…got your new email from your ABOUT page…was that YOU flying above the ocean with a big shark snapping open jaws at you!!! Really?
      • fuonlyknew says:
        Nope. That was my mother and my sister! LOL My brother-in-law did that photo! Not real but sure looks like it doesn’t it.
  20. I’ve been in a review-writing slump for months. I just don’t want to write them. I hope your slump ends soon. Enjoy your plants and new books!
    • fuonlyknew says:
      I start a review and nothing comes. I’m going to do more of my mini reviews to get the enthusiasm flowing again. Until then, it’s summer and I’m loving it:)
  21. love the plant pictures!!! Glad they are all doing so well!
  22. Don’t blame you! I can’t stay out of the pool either. The plants are lovely.
  23. Wow! Lots of lovely pictures of your plants! I hope you get out of your slump soon! 😀
    Here’s my Sunday Post!
    Ronyell @ Rabbit Ears Book Blog and join in this week’s Book Photo Sundays and Cover Spotlight!
  24. asreadbytina says:
    First off, can I tell you that I am so jealous of your garden! I wish I had a green thumb. I’ve managed to keep a noche buena (I don’t know what they’re actually called in english) alive for about 2 years now. My middle daughter wants to start a garden so I think that might be our summer project.
    I think being in the pool and not blogging so much is a good reason! It’s summer time (basically, right?) enjoy! The blog and books will be there when you get out.
    Have a wonderful week!
    Tina @ As Told By Tina
  25. I need to get back into the swing of things too, which can be hard after a break! I’m way behind on everything this week and I’ve been catching up with blogs in between getting the washing done. We’ll get there!
  26. Angelica Joy says:
    It must be the ever changing weather or just finishing season change over as I’m feeling a bit like this too, although I’ve entered winter instead of summer 😔
  27. I feel ya on the slump! I’m in a reading slump and I’m meh about blogging the past few weeks. I blame it on life kicking me in the teeth repeatedly lately but I’d much rather be blaming it on a pool! 🙂
    • fuonlyknew says:
      Yes, my teeth hurt too. Life has been rough the past couple of months. Here’s to a bright summer!
  28. Oh, I wish I had a pool! Lucky you.
  29. Blood Moon Carnival looks really good and I know I have that alien book already because seriously, who could forget that cover? I’ve been finding it harder and harder to get on the computer over the weekend so I figure it’s my way of knowing I need mini breaks. I was in a slump but started AND finished Jurassic Florida this weekend so I’ve feeling good now! Hope you have a wonderful week!
    • fuonlyknew says:
      I hear ya about that cover. LOL I like the idea of mini breaks. I think I’ll cut myself some slack on the weekends too:)
  30. feeroberts64 says:
    Your plants are so beautiful!
  31. (Sorry if this is a duplicate; I got a weird error message and my comment didn’t post.)
    Beautiful garden! I love your hydrangea especially. So pretty! I used to have one but it died. I’m a horrible gardener, especially because I hate the heat, and the deer eat everything anyway. But I miss having beautiful flowers around the house.
    I’m so sorry about your slump. That’s a horrible feeling. I hope it’s just a temporary blogging slump, and you are still enjoying reading. I can handle a blogging slump, but not having the desire for or joy in reading is just miserable. Anyway, may it soon pass and you get your energy back!
    • fuonlyknew says:
      I’ve had those weird error things happen when commenting on some other blogs. Must be gremlins running amok. LOL I have to give the tropical climate credit for much of my gardens. The humidity and afternoon rains keep them well watered for the early summer. This year they are doing especially weel and I love to sit outside and look at everything. My slump is ending, I think. I’m feeling the urge to write reviews and do some of my memes again!
  32. northwoman says:
    So we have a pool where we have lived 3 years. So far we have never gone to it. lol Don’t be hard on yourself; everyone needs a break or a change up of things sometimes. I do it with reading different genres. Or the past couple weeks since I was ahead on reviews, I read both things I just wanted to read from the library or ARCs for further out in time. I also FINALLY read a few Kindle unlimited books since I plan to cancel at the end of the month and hadn’t even read ONE. Your plants look fantastic. Have a great week whether you read / review or not! Anne – Books of My Heart
    • fuonlyknew says:
      I pulled some old favorites off the shelf. relaxed and enjoyed them and now starting to read some new books. Feeling that mojo return!
  33. Love your plant pics.
