Some chit chat.

I got my vehicle back. It looks great but there’s still something wrong with the door. It doesn’t shut all the way. It closes but doesn’t line up right. We may have to replace the door if we can’t get to align. Living in a tropical climate, I can’t have the moist humidity creeping in. It will mildew the interior. My boss is still embarrassed that he wrecked it. Perhaps this is a good time to hit him up for a raise. LOL

My son and I watched The Greatest Showman. I had heard such good things about the movie. It was different from what I expected and a fabulous film.  We talked about it afterwards. Then we talked about some other musicals we liked. His favorite was The Demon Barber with Johnny Depp and mine was Mama Mia with Meryl Streep. Do you watch musicals? Do you have a favorite?

That’s it for me. Nothing much else happened. Except………a bunch of new books!

Have a fabulous  Sunday and brand new week!

Sorry to hear about the door! Yeah your boss must be awfully embarrassed ha ha! Maybe asking for that raise isn’t a bad idea. 🙂

I don’t watch a lot of musicals but I do like them sometimes? I guess for me it’s oldies like White Christmas or Singing in the Rain, stuff like that. Grease comes to mind of course. I haven’t seen too many recent ones. Mamma Mia was good though.

Hope your reads are good this week. 🙂

    • fuonlyknew says:

Yeah, the raise would be nice. LOL White Christmas is one I’ll watch any time of the year. That should have actually been the one I said was my favorite. Also up there is The Kind And I.

  2. Unpopular opinion alert – I think musicals are pretty weird 😀 I’ve never been a fan!
I hope you can get that car fixed though 🙂 and that raise 😀
Have a great week! Sorry I haven’t been visiting lately.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I avoided them when I was a teen. Then I watched White Christmas and was hooked on them. Happy to see you, Evelina. Been missing your snark. LOL

  3. I hope you get your car door sorted. I love musicals and don’t know how I haven’t seen The Greatest Showman yet I love the songs and know all the words even though I haven’t seen it lol I just fix this soon. One of my favourites is The Sound Of Music. Enjoy all your new books and have a great week.

    • fuonlyknew says:

Yeah, hoping they finally figure out the door this coming week. I still find myself singing songs from The Sound Of Music!

  4. Not surprisingly I have Creature on pre-order! I’ve decided to splurge this week so I’m a bad Chuckles…I’m not a huge fan of musicals really though I love Grease and Mamma Mia. I’m not likely to watch The Greatest Showman or stuff like LaLa Land!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I read Creature straight through. It’s been too long since I read one of Hunter’s longer stories. I ate it up.

  5. nualacharlie says:

I think I should check out the Greatest Showman, I keep on hearing about it. Hope you get your car door sorted, I have a car boot I can’t open atm (but I can get into it from the car).

    • fuonlyknew says:

I’m glad I finally watched it. It was so good and my son was surprised by how much he liked it too:)

  6. suzanneutc says:

Haha now definitely seems like the exact right time to ask for raise!

I also enjoyed The Greatest Showman, although my favourite musical still has to be The Rocky Horror Show

    • fuonlyknew says:

      LOL I know!

I remember going to see The Rocky Horror Picture Show and it would be a mob of people! That reminded me of another I loved. The Little Shop Of Horrors. Feed me, Seymour!

  7. Jenea says:

I like to watch musicals, but no one else in my house does. 🙁 Sorry to hear about the car door, hopefully they get is fixed soon. Have a great week!!

    • fuonlyknew says:

My son enjoyed Willa Wonka, The Demon Barber and Little Shop Of Horrors so he was game to try The Greatest Showman. We enjoyed it together:)

  8. kozbisa says:

Wow! So much book mail! I hope you enjoy them all. I love musicals. My favorites are the old movie musicals from the 40s – 60s. They always do a big thing on the classic movie channels every summer, and I rewatch them all. I love the That’s Entertainment movies too, which highlight the standout movie musicals and play all the best clips.

  9. Angelica Joy says:

I love Scott Westerfeld but yet to read this book. Have you read his Uglies series? He’s releasing a book this year based on the Uglies world.

    Angelica @ Paperback Princess

    • fuonlyknew says:

I’m excited to read all of these books. Some of my favorite authors and some new ones too. I need to check out the Uglies series. Something about it sounds familiar.

  10. Glad you enjoyed the Greatest Showman! I’ve watched Sweeny Todd the Demon Barber and I really enjoyed it! Hope you have a great week!

    Here’s my Sunday Post!

  11. I hope you get your door fixed properly…and ask that boss for a raise. LOL

I loved Mama Mia, and I’m excited that Part II is coming this summer. After the first movie came out, I bought a CD of the soundtrack…it makes good exercise music. I have a miniature jukebox CD player that is fun.

Enjoy your week, and here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES

    • fuonlyknew says:

I’ll be asking for the raise. Just got to time it right. LOL I have fingers and toes crossed for the Mama Mia sequel. I adored the first one. I have the soundtrack too. My mom and I like to listen to it while making jigsaw puzzles or playing cards.

  12. I hope they are able to fix your door properly! My door got messed up in a similar way many years ago and I remember what a pain it was.
I haven’t watched a musical in many years! Glad you liked The Greatest Showman!

    • fuonlyknew says:

They said it was fixed but I can actually see the outside when the door is closed while I’m sitting in the car. Plus, I have to shut it hard to get it to fully close. They need to work on it some more. It feels unsafe, like the door can just pop open while I’m moving.

  13. That sucks about the door so hope you can get that fixed. I love Musicals! Mamma Mia is a favorite and can’t wait to see the sequel! Though still a fan of the old Hairspray I did enjoy the new version. I love the classic musicals like Oklahoma, My Fair Lady, Singing in the Rain…I could go on…lol. 🙂

You got some amazing looking books! Enjoy!

    Week in Review

    • fuonlyknew says:

I know. Once I started thinking about them I could name so many I’d forgot about. And I can’t wait for the Mama Mia sequel. I hope it’s just as fun.

  14. Wow what a book haul! I also love musical; I was a music minor in college. I love the old ones – Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Oklahoma, Anna and the King of Siam, etc plus Sound of Music, Wizard of Oz. I saw Sound of Music 17 times in the theater when it was new. I own it of course, and I visited Austria to visit all the filming sites. But I also love the song and dance musicals with Gene Kelly, Fred & Ginger, many others, and White Christmas! Anne – Books of My Heart

    • fuonlyknew says:

I drew a blank when talking about some older musicals with my son the other night. Now I could name a bunch. LOL I watched The Sound Of Music again about a month ago and was surprised I still new the words to all of the songs!

  15. I love musicals and I thought that The Greatest Showman was awesome! My son loved it too.
Good luck with the car door!

  16. Beware Of The Reader says:

Funny enough I watched The Greatest Showman and Mama Mia with my daughters some weeks ago 😉 Great haul by the cay!

    Happy Sunday.

  17. StackingMy BookShelves says:

Wow. what an awesome week in the mail! So many I want to read! Have a wonderful week of reading!

    Mary my #SundayRoundup #27!

  18. I’m looking forward to diving into the Flame Tree Press books.

  19. Sorry about your door. My front door broke last week. Had to use the side gate instead . Lol

I love musicals! Love your book haul! 😆

    • fuonlyknew says:

I swear once one thing breaks then another thing and another thing does. I’m almost afraid to use anything. LOL

  20. Yvonne says:

I’m sorry about the car door. I hope it can be fixed.

I’ve always loved musicals. My all time favorite is probably Grease with Chicago coming in a close second. We recently saw a musical on Broadway – Beautiful. It’s Carole King’s story and was wonderful.

Many of those freebies I got too.

Hope you enjoy your books and have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I’m hoping it can be fixed too. I have a feeling they are going to have to replace it though. It was bent all the way backwards. My sister loved Chicago! I was trying to remember the name of that one last night. I remember you mentioning the Broadway show. I bet is was fabulous. I love her songs.

  21. Sorry about the car. I hope it gets fixed soon. I love the lizard on those books. I hope you enjoy them all!

  22. sjhigbee says:

Ah – Tim, who I teach, is constantly on at me to see The Greatest Showman – he loves it:). My favourite musical – The Sound of Music. Not only do I love all the songs and think the story is amazing, it brings back some very happy family memories…

Sorry to hear about your car door – you definitely can’t let that state of affairs continue. Yes – ask for a raise! He can only say no… Have a great week, Laura and I hope you enjoy your books:))

  23. That’s an awful lot of good looking books. I’m reading a cozy right now but horror/thriller will definitely be next. I just finished Lizzie. I grabbed a couple of those freebies too. Keep on your car until it’s fixed correctly. Sometimes a accident like that can throw the whole thing off (I grew up with a family of mechanics and car painters so I think all that stuff subconsciously sunk into me).

    Have a wonderful week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

It was a fabulous week for books. I have got to get Lizzie! I love reading about her and always excited to see how different authors spin her story. I know what you mean about the car. I had my AC filled and now one of the pressure switches is doing weird things. It’ll be cool than not. Ugh!

  24. Fabulous mail call. Happy reading.

  25. A Renfro says:

The Rocky Horror Picture Show is one of my faves.

    • fuonlyknew says:

One of mine too. We used to go to the midnight showing and actors would perform scenes before it started. A riot!

  26. Holy cow, you hauled, woman! Enjoy. 📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚

I love your little lawn lizard book mascot. 😊

I would ask for a raise. Ha ha. I really would. 👍

My favorite musical is Les Misérables. I am hoping to get to see it on Broadway before it goes on hiatus again. I also love Sweeny Todd. My son loves it, too! We’ve watched the movie many times. I was able to see it during it’s original run on Broadway in 1979 because my college Music Association Club sponsored a trip. I was really lucky. 🎼

I hope your week has been wonderful so far and they have seen to your car door. My new microwave arrived yesterday, so I’ve been a happy camper. 🌞

    • fuonlyknew says:

LOL Lots of book mail this week and I’m already ripping through them. My lizard crawled down off the wall to get in the picture. LOL I’d love to be able to see some of the Broadway plays. We have a small local theatre and I’ve seen Willy Wonka and Little Shop Of Horror there.

  27. boyishbookworm says:

The Greatest Showman is so good!!! One of my favourite films out of the ones I’ve seen this year. It makes me happy whenerver I watch it. (And I adore Mamma Mia too, yay!)

    Enjoy your new books Laura!
