Some chit chat.

I’m so happy it’s the weekend! It was crazy busy at work and rained the whole week. Got up Saturday morning to what felt like fall weather. At 7:30 A. M. there was a crisp breeze and no humidity so I rushed outside for some reading and relaxation. By 11:00 it was heating up and took a dip in the pool. I actually fell asleep for a bit until the lawnmower started up next door. LOL It was glorious. And while I’m not wanting summer to end, I appreciated the cool down for a day or two.

I started binging a show I found on Netflix, Hart Of Dixie.  Zoe Hart is a nutball. She has a serious case of run at the mouth. LOL Characters bounce from one romantic partner another.

It’s a cheesy, silly and fun comedy and I can’t get enough. What brought me to watch it was it takes in and near my hometown of Fairhope, Alabama. I enjoyed trying to recognize places used for filming and hearing the names of towns I live and work in. Good clean southern fun. Have you seen it?

I see some clouds building in the distance so I’m off for another swim before the rain starts up again.

Have a fabulous  Sunday and brand new week!

Ooh looks like some good reading! Love the look of Wake Me If You’re Out There and Missing Signal. I need to go learn more. And Whispers and the Roars too. Love the alligator BTW. 🙂

It’s always nice to get a break from the heat. Hope you’re having a nice weekend. 🙂

    • fuonlyknew says:

I went a bit crazy on books this week. LOL So many good ones and lots of new authors for me. I wanted a picture of the books on the gator in the pool but was too scared to risk the books getting wet. LOL

  2. I kept looking at the David Wood books but I’m just not sure yet! I have a few Baileigh Higgins books on my ereader. Afraid and When The Power Is Gone were both 5 star reads for me! The two you reviewed are on my wishlist now!

    • fuonlyknew says:

That cover all in red caught my attention. I plan to read some of Higgins’ books soon. She writes a genre I love and hoping I enjoy her writing. I loved Afraid too and thought of you when I came across When The Power Is Gone, knowing you enjoy those types of stories. You giving it 5 stars makes me glad I grabbed it! You don’t give those out that often.

  3. Super jealous of your fall-like weather (as I swelter in 95 degree heat with 90% humidity). Congrats on winning the prize package! That’s always exciting.
    Tanya @ Girl Plus Books

    • fuonlyknew says:

It only lasted one day but I’ll take it! LOL I love winning books and only enter when I really want to try the author. This was several authors and genres so should be fun:)

  4. I’m not ready for summer to be over, either, but I absolutely love the cooler temps we’ve had this week.
I hope there’s more relaxing for you today, so that you’ll be ready to take on a new week.
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading.

    • fuonlyknew says:

It was glorious weather but I’ll take steamy hot over cold any day! LOL Plan to spend more time in the pool today.

  5. Jenea says:

Loved Hart of Dixie! And look at all those new books! I hope you enjoy them. Have a great Sunday!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I have a huge stack of books to read and the problem is which one first. LOL Hart Of Dixie was lots of fun, and addictive. LOL

  6. I watched some episodes of Hart of Dixie years ago, but now that the show is on Netflix, I need to see more of it. Thanks for sharing.

I have been drawn to shows and movies with familiar settings…I like recognizing places I’ve lived or been.

Enjoy your week, and here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES

    • fuonlyknew says:

It’s the complete series. Just finished it last night and such a cute ending. Sad it’s over though. I recognized several places and many of the driving scenes.

  7. Your outdoor reading and relaxing sounds really, really great.

  8. S. J. Pajonas (spajonas) says:

We had one morning this week where it was cool and low humidity. It was lovely!

  9. kozbisa says:

I loved The Heart of Dixie so much. I never wanted it to end. Though, I was happy-ish with the last season. Enjoy!

  10. We are in for a rainy week according to the forecast but one never knows. You got lots of goodies this week! Enjoy!

    Have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

We always get an afternoon rain from the heat building up in the Gulf. It’s when the rain starts in the morning and lasts all day that gets tiresome. Hoping for sunshine this coming week.

  11. I didn’t realize Heart of Dixie took place in Fair Hope! I had family in the Mobile area for awhile and we used to go on day trips to Fair Hope. Glad you had a good week and that you had some fall-ish weather. Love when that happens!

    • fuonlyknew says:

It takes place on the Eastern Shore. I recognized Bay Minette, Fairhope, Daphne and maybe some other cities. I sure enjoyed the fallish day while it lasted but not ready for summer to be over:)

  12. sjhigbee says:

I hope the swim was great – yes… our weather is reverting to normal with cooler temperatures and rain. Most folks are wandering around with grins on their faces, happy not to swelter, while I try not to sigh for the heat… I’m definitely living in the wrong country! Have a great week, Laura – I love the look of Dragon Storm:)

    • fuonlyknew says:

The pool was delicious and I spent the whole weekend dipping in and out of it! It’s sunny this morning but I have to go to work. Sigh!

  13. Yvonne says:

Congrats on your giveaway win. That prize looks great. Hope you have a wonderful week!

    My Sunday Post is here.

  14. Liliana E. says:

It sounds like you had an amazing weekend. Reading in the AM followed by a dip in the pool and a nap… it’s my dream! I just need the pool LOL

Enjoy all the fun goodies you got in the mail this week! 🙂

  15. carolesrandomlife says:

It is always fun when a surprise win shows up at your house. Looks like you added some great books to the pile this week. Yay for getting the chance to enjoy the nicer weather. Pool time is always a good thing 🙂 Have a great week and enjoy your new books!

  16. Nicci Boyle says:

We had cooler weather this week too. It was glorious after so much heat!
    Your book haul is impressive!
    Have a good week.

  17. Oh a prize win and book mail!! Way to go! Hopefully you have a good week!

  18. Enjoy the cooler weather! It’s 82 degrees at my desk right now and nearly 100 outside. I’m sweating. I hope you like your new books. Have a great week!

  19. Angelica Joy says:

You sound like your enjoying your summer, I can’t wait till next month when we start spring. Have a great reading month.

    • fuonlyknew says:

It always surprises me when someone mentions their season is different from mine. Especially when there’s is summer and mine is winter. LOL

  20. I just went and grabbed The Butterfly Forest. Glad it was still free. I saw The Book of M at my library and will probably grab it from there eventually. I’ve heard pretty good things. I also love the gator floatie – how adorable!

    • fuonlyknew says:

The Butterfly Forest isn’t the first in the series but I’ve heard it can easily be read as a stand alone. I grabbed it too. Reading The Book Of M now and it’s got a grip on me! That gator float kind of creeps me out. The wind blows it around the yard and it always startles me that it has moved. One time it was facing me when I opened the back door. LOL

  21. StackingMy BookShelves says:

What an amazing prize pack! I love it. I went a bit nuts too with my Book Outlet orders! See how that is plural??

    Mary

  22. I missed it this week. It was Eric’s last summer Friday off and we binge watched golf and played around the pool. Nice relaxing weekend.
    sherry @ fundinmental

  23. Melissa says:

My husband and I loved Hart of Dixie! And I’m off to look up Bound! Love witches!

  24. That looks like a fabulous gift basket. Yay. I wish the summer is done already and am so ready for fall!

  25. Northwoman says:

Wow, you got so much great stuff.I already had Lost Library and you’ve reminded me it to try to read it! You have a great reading week. Yay for the cooler weather. It’s still getting into the 90s except days when it rains, then it’s 80s. But it is a bit better. Anne – Books of My Heart

    • fuonlyknew says:

It’s back to 90s here too. The cool down lasted one morning. LOL Not complaining as I don’t like winter. except for Christmas:)

  26. Hurray for Netflix binges! I’ve been having one of my own. XD I hope you love your new reads. Reach looks interesting!

  27. Hart of Dixie! I actually have that to binge watch because I remember loving that show and it was so much fun. I’m a little jealous, maybe I should try rewatching again? Love the look of that prize pack as well! How awesome, winning books is always exciting. Hope you enjoy reading them.

  28. We had a couple days that seemed fall-ish except they were a tad warm. I kinda am ready for it! I have watched Hart of Dixie several times through. I just recently restarted watching! She sure does run off at the mouth….a lot.

  29. Sounds like you had a wonderful Saturday! Congrats on winning the prize pack!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I cherish my weekends and try to have everything mundane done during the week so I can recup and enjoy:)

  30. Lola says:

Sounds nice to be able to take a dip in the poll when it gets hot. We luckily have had some cooler weather here for a bit, which I prefer over the too hot weather. I hope you’ll enjoy your new books.
