Some chit chat.

I don’t know where me heads been lately. I left work Friday telling everyone I’d see them Monday. This drew some shocked looks. They were kind enough to remind me we were closed Monday for the holiday. LOL Glad they did as, knowing me, I would have drive into work!

So I plan to read some, swim a bunch, take some naps and binge shows and movies on the telly. I’ve been watching the show, Heartland, from the beginning for the past few weeks and almost finished. Such a fun, sweet show and I’m really loving it. I always dreamed of living on a horse ranch but never did come true. Now that I’m older I’m content to just ride other people’s horses. LOL

Just finished watching Annihilation last night with my son. We both really enjoyed it. Talk about going Into The Out Of. What a wild idea. We turned out all the lights, cranked up the surround sound and were amazed at the visual effects. Have you seen it? What did you think?

Have a fabulous  Sunday and brand new week!

Your plans for the weekend sound wonderful. I’m lucky to be able to sit comfortably for 20 minutes at a time ugh. Actually swimming sounds perfect.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I struggle to make myself relax sometimes. I use tunnel vision so I don’t see everything that needs to be done. LOL

  2. Daniela Ark says:

Unfortunately I DNF Annihilation! I do want to watch the movie though!

  3. Greg says:

Ha I’ve done that- forgotten about the holiday weekend! Hope you have a good one, with lots of reading and binging! I need to see Annihilation. And The Meg too, if I can get out to the theater. 🙂

    • fuonlyknew says:

I forgot about Meg! I’ve been waiting years for it. Got to check and see where its showing. That would be perfect for tomorrow.

  4. Oooh! I would love to watch Heartland! I hope you have a great weekend!

    Here’s my Sunday Post!

Ronyell @ Rabbit Ears Book Blog and join in this week’s Book Photo Sundays and Cover Spotlight!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I just finished the last episode for the season and now I’m sad. I hope it ins’t too long before the next season is available.

  5. I watched Annihilation with my son, and we both loved it, too!! Fantastic twist, startling special FX and at times even sad.

I keep meaning to do a Sunday Wrap Up, maybe next week lol I did start one sharing my Instagram posts, which I liked but then something changed and Instagram no longer works in my WordPress for some odd reason… probably some privacy changes they’ve made. And now I want to go and try it out again to see if I can lol Great week for you, have a lovely long weekend. 🙂

    • fuonlyknew says:

That’s fun that we both watched it with our sons and we all loved it! I don’t know what to tell you about the Instagram thing. I just joined it and haven’t even figured it out yet. LOL

  6. First of all, I wanted to thank you so much for visiting my blog and reading my posts during the time I was away and couldn’t visit yours at all 🙂 thank you! It means so much to me. You’re such a wonderful person, Laura. Always happy to see your comments.

LOL I can totally see that Monday thing happening to me xD glad they told you indeed.

I have yet to read Annihilation though, so I won’t be watching until I do 🙂

Hope you have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

Thank you, Evelina. I always enjoy stopping by your blog and usually leave grinning! I didn’t read Annihilation. I’d like to know what you think if you do.

  7. Nicci Boyle says:

    Enjoy your long weekend!

  8. I’m a bit annoyed that I’ve spent years collecting Dirk Patton’s books and now they are coming out with much nicer covers! I WANT the newer covers but they were all expensive to buy first time round. Grrr! I did love the first book though. Another series I need to catch up on.

I’ve heard a lot of people saying the book and film for Annihilation are weird and I don’t do well with weird, as a rule! I still plan to look at both though!

    • fuonlyknew says:

It drives me crazy when the author changes the covers after I’ve bought the print copies. I’ve even bought a book and then found out I already owned it with a different blurb and cover. I have a feeling Annihilation isn’t your cuppa tea. But, you never know. Maybe watch and see?

  9. kozbisa says:

Heartland was a really sweet show. As I get older, I like the kinder more gentler shows. I find myself on The Hallmark channel a lot. XD Hope you have a fantastic 3-day weekend!

  10. Jenea says:

Your weekend sounds like a relaxing one, enjoy. And those new books too. 🙂

  11. Stormi D Johnson says:

I always wanted a horse farm too! I haven’t seen Annihilation and was going to read the book till someone talked me out of it as they said it was bad, the movie looks cool and I might try it some time. 🙂

Hope you have a great week! Happy reading!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I really liked the movie but won’t be reading the book. I have a feeling it won’t grab me like the film did.

  12. Enjoy your long weekend! It sounds great! You always grabe the freebies as much as me; I hope you get to read some. Anne – Books of My Heart

  13. Enjoy the holiday weekend!!

  14. Berls says:

LOL no you don’t want to go to work tomorrow! Take your day and enjoy it! I know I plan to 🙂

Thanks for the freebie links I’m grabbing a couple!

  15. Literary Feline says:

I hope you are enjoying the long weekend. 🙂 Since my office is open 24/7, we do have staff who have to work tomorrow, but fortunately not me. I am not sure what we’ll be doing. If we don’t get our errands done today, they will have to be done tomorrow. I guess it just depends on whether I want to procrastinate or not. Your new books look good! I’m curious about Snowfall especially. I am glad you liked The Book of M. I have been wanting to read that one. Have a great week, Laura!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I did all of errands and cleaning Saturday so I could relax Sunday and Monday. Plan on spending Monday out by the pool as the rain is finally moving off. The Book Of M was terrific. Right up my alley. And I could resist Snowfall. Sounded fun and I liked the cover so I thought I’d give the author a go.

  16. sjhigbee says:

Yes… I forgot that last Monday was our bank holiday long weekend:)). Though at least I didn’t have work to go to as I have another couple of weeks before I start back at Northbrook College. Have a lovely weekend and a great week, Laura!

    • fuonlyknew says:

The looks on everyone’s faces when I said I’d see them Monday was hilarious. I think a co worker was worried we didn’t have it off. LOL

  17. Beware Of The Reader says:

A free day? Good for you and I also would be one to forget it LOL Enjoy your lazy day <3

  18. So many tempting books! I’m curious about The Book of M. Thanks for sharing, and for visiting my blog.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I have found some wonderful new books and authors. The Book Of M was unusual and addictive. I’m still thinking about it.

  19. Liliana says:

Annihilation was a great movie! I enjoyed it too! And good thing they reminded you to not come in on work on Monday lol. I hope you have a great holiday! 🙂

    • fuonlyknew says:

My son says he’s surprised how much he liked the movie. Thought it was going to be silly. e talked it about it for a while afterwards. I love it when a movie or book can do that.

  20. Hurray for naps and TV binging! I really liked Annihilation too! Enjoy your new reads and thanks for the freebies!

  21. Enjoy your day off! I hope you get lots of reading and relaxing done. Have a great week!

  22. Ohh, you’re so lucky bc you don’t have to go to work today… Have a great reading and swimming day, and thanks for the freebies! 😉

  23. I hope you are enjoying your day today and didn’t get up as early as I did because I forgot to turn off my alarm lol. Your day sounds fantastic.

I hope you have the best week ever, Laura! Happy Reading! 🙂

  24. I hope you enjoyed your pool over the long weekend. 🌴

The cover and title of Mixter Twizzle’s Breakfast is a riot. I also nabbed a copy of The Angry Dragon. 👍✨I

I hope you are having a wonderful week. 🌞

    • fuonlyknew says:

It rained but there were a few times the sun came out and I jumped in the pool. Got a hurricane coming our way tonight! Bot too happy about that.
I’m sharing my review for Mixter Twizzle tomorrow. It was a cute story.

  25. Yvonne says:

All those great cozies! Hope you have a great week!

  26. S. J. Pajonas (spajonas) says:

I clicked away from your site really fast last week, as I’m deathly afraid of snakes. Can’t even look at photos of them. So glad you had a nice holiday weekend!

  27. Chrissy says:

I hope you had a relaxing holiday weekend! I can’t believe it’s September already!

    • fuonlyknew says:

Thanks. And now it is the second week already! Starting to show here. Some leaves are falling and the pecan trees are starting to grow pecans.
