This is my own version of a weekly book haul and all things new on fuonlyknew.

I’m also linking up with The Sunday Post hosted by Kimberly @Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

Some chit chat.

We finally got a bit of fall weather but it didn’t last long. Then we were back up to high 80s and sticky. LOL  The bit of cool weather reminded me I need to decorate so I’ll be doing that this weekend. Gots to get some spooky going on here.

I’ve also been doing a ton of reading and writing. My 31 Days Of Thrills And Chills is going strong. It sure is whittling down my TBR. But, while browsing my books, I discovered some new releases and just added more to the TBR. An endless cycle and I love it.

Of course, I’ve also been watching the telly. Viewing a lot of old favorites and watching some new ones. My plans for the weekend were to binge The Haunting Of Hill House. Will be finishing it tonight and I’m really enjoying it. Have you watched it yet? What do you think?

Have a fabulous  Sunday and brand new week!

  1. Rachel @Waves of Fiction says:

Oh, I want to read The Mansion! I loved is Hatching series! I’ll have to check out your review. 🙂

  2. What a great week you had! Totally love you’ve got Heleen Kist’s In servitude – hope you like it! Love the sound of the Divers book! Enjoy the rest of your weekend! And your decorating 👻🎃🧟‍♂️🧟‍♀️

    • fuonlyknew says:

In Servitude was a freebie and I liked the synopsis so that one I grabbed. And I adore the Hell Divers series!

  3. The covers for Spells and Spiced Latte and Wisteria Witches are awesome! Makes me want to read them.

I can’t imagine what it’d be like to still have hot temperatures tight now… It wouldn’t feel like autumn, I don’t think. That said, a part of me is envious as my fingers are freakin’ numb as I type this! :/

    • fuonlyknew says:

I love bold colors on covers and these are perfect October reads. And it turned cool overnight here after a bit of rain. Breexy and around 70. Nice:)

  4. Sadly my horror month of reading has ground to a complete halt! I’m just too tired to pick up a book right now! There are rumours of snow for the UK this coming week so maybe I’ll feel inspired to read then!

    • fuonlyknew says:

You’ve been so busy with your house. Hopefully your reading time will come once you get finished. Snow? Yikes! It’s fall like here with temps this week going to be around 70. My dog is loving it!

  5. Greg says:

I have not watched Hill House but I keep hearing about it. Maybe I need to? And death By Halloween looks fun!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I hope you watch it, Greg. I think you’ll enjoy it. Death by Halloween has been on my Kindle a while. It sounds fun.

  6. Wow.. Those are a lot of new books. Awesome. 😉
We watched the first episode of The Haunting of Hill House Friday Night. But I didn’t love it, but I’ll keep trying. Hopefully it get better.

  7. sjhigbee says:

You’ve got a great book haul – and I hope you aren’t too upset by the warmer weather. We are still having fabulous sunny weather with the daytime temp in the 60s which is unheard of at this time of year… Have a great week, Laura:)

  8. Stormi D Johnson says:

I tell you what how about we swap weather? 🙂 LOL So I have enjoyed your thrills and chills post finding lots to put on my TBR! 🙂

Have a great week and happy reading!

  9. Loving your spooky books this week.
I weather is finally winter…we skipped fall but so windy today. Like house shaking windy.

We want to watch the Haunting of hill house, glad you are enjoying it.

Have a great week, Laura! Happy Reading!

    • fuonlyknew says:

It was very windy here too but the sun kept it just the right temp. I’m looking for to snuggling up with some good books and shows:)

  10. kozbisa says:

I listened to One Perfect Kiss a little bit ago. It was cute. I totally loved the hero, and I am a small town fan.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I live in a small coastal town and love reading about them in stories. I often picture the characters walking around my town:)

  11. Oh my gosh The Wonky Donkey! What is that about?! It sounds hilarious! I have One Perfect Kiss to read. I love that its about teachers!

  12. Beware Of The Reader says:

You totally rock your 31 days of Thrill you know that right Laura? God I know it’s hard to post every day for one month so I am in awe! I will post for 7 days in a row about Blogoween starting October 24th and I am already sweating LOL

    • fuonlyknew says:

Thanks! I admit it’s getting hard to write the last couple of reviews for my feature but almost done. Then it’s time to work on Cozy November but it won’t be reviews every single day, I think. LOL Can’t wait to see your Blogoween! You write the most entertaining posts:)

  13. Oh, The Wonky Donkey is so funny! Have you seen the Scottish granny reading it? It’s on YouTube.

Our weather got cooler and stayed there, thank goodness. In fact, we seem to have skipped the usual weeks of high 60s and low 70s and plunged directly into the 50s and low 60s. I hope things cool off a bit for you soon.

I know what you mean about needing to decorate. I do, too. I put my fall wreath on the door, but that’s all I’ve done. I need to get the Halloween decorations out.

Have a great week with all those new books!

    • fuonlyknew says:

My boss shared the video after I read the book. Did both while sitting in the office and others came in to see what we were laughing about! It looks like seasonal weather with a bit of colder coming next weekend. I’m going to try and do yard work this week while the cool temps hang around. And I mix fall and Halloween decorations together and take down the spooky after Halloween is over. Before we know it, it’ll be time for Christmas decorating. Yikes!

  14. Gayathri Lakshminarayanan says:

You should let us know how the Haunting of hill house goes. I am contemplating watching it but I have never seen the film. Will it still work?

    • fuonlyknew says:

It’s addictive. The beginning was a bit confusing until I sorted out who was who, but then it moved quickly and I’m hooked. And no, it’s different from the movie in many ways and you’ll actually probably do better not having seen it. There’s more than one movie but I still love the original old one the most.

  15. carolesrandomlife says:

It has been so cold here that I might be a little jealous of your warm but sticky weather. I have some Halloween decorations but I doubt that I will actually get around to putting any out this year. Enjoy all of your new books and have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

Well, I woke up this morning to blustery wind and cooler temps. It did get to 70 and looks like it will remain there all week. Perfect for reading outside without melting!

  16. Lola says:

The weather sure has been weird lately, here we had pretty warm weather for weeks and now it’s back to colder again. Nice you got some decorating done. I read Seashells Spells and Caramels from your list and I really enjoyed it :).

    • fuonlyknew says:

Our weather changes day to day and it was nice to get up to cooler temps this morning. I’m sure we’ll have some more hot days this year though:)

  17. Yvonne says:

I watched the first episode of The Haunting of Hill House, but I haven’t had time to watch anymore of it. I will get to it.

Enjoy your books and have a good week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

My son and I ended up deciding to watch one episode a night after watching a few. On 4th one tomorrow and really getting into it.

  18. Northwoman says:

What a bunch of books! I went wild on freebies also. Anne – Books of My Heart

    • fuonlyknew says:

I grabbed freebie. Bought eBooks and print books. Just couldn’t help myself. So many I wanted this week. Happens that way sometimes, right! LOL

  19. Liliana says:

I’ve been wanting to watch Haunting on Hill House too! I’m glad to hear you’re enjoying it because I’m probably going to start it soon!

  20. I like hot weather so I’m jealous of yours. I finished watching SUITS on Netflix and just waiting for the new releases to come out. I LOVE the look of the Wonkey Donkey! Enjoy your reading week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

Well, it’s more like fall here now. We’ll be around low 70s this week with cool nights. Feels kind of nice:) Wonky Donkey is too cute!

  21. Thank goodness for that endless cycle of finishing books and discovering new ones. It’s what keeps us going right? I was able to grab some of these freebies as well. Don’t some of the paranormal cozies have some of the cutest covers. It was a very Fall like weekend here which was nice and the pups loved it!

    • fuonlyknew says:

Exactly. I’ve given up worrying about too many books on my list. LOL I love these cozy covers. So bold and fun:)

  22. buffywnabe says:

We are getting that same issue with the fall weather here! Although the past few weeks we are at least staying mostly below 80. I’m ready to stay below 70 for sure. I need to read a Jaci Burton book. That Wonky Donkey book is a big request at my bookstore. I’m debating whether I need to buy one for my nephew or not. Thanks for sharing all the free books, and some of the covers of what you read are making me have to go check them out! Have a great week, and thanks for stopping by my Sunday Post on Lisa Loves Literature earlier!

    • fuonlyknew says:

This week is supposed to be low 70s but I noticed that the night’s are warm and humid again so I expect it will be warmer. The Wonky Donkey made me laugh. I loved it. Then I watched that video on Youtube. So funny!

  23. S. J. Pajonas (spajonas) says:

Lots of new books this week! We’re down into winter weather now, 20s and 30s here. I’m really surprised we didn’t have more days in the 50s which is when I really enjoy walking outside.

  24. WTH happened to the weather. One day I was sweating like crazy…as we are building a shed…the next day I’m out there with long sleeves, sweat pants and had a shiver or two. I no likie!!!!!!
