This is my own version of a weekly book haul and all things new on fuonlyknew.

I’m also linking up with The Sunday Post hosted by Kimberly @Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

Some chit chat.

Whoa! The weather took a turn for the chilly this weekend. I went to bed to howling winds Friday night. Woke up to more wind and cold temps. The sun is out but the north winds catch my breath. And it’s supposed to get even colder next week. Even down into the 30s one night. Not liking that. And I guess swimming is out of the question this weekend. LOL

On a brighter note. I’ve been reading a bunch of cozies and having all kinds of fun. Of course, I have also been reading some scary books.

And my son and I just are watching Stranger Things. We went back and started at the beginning and plan to watch two episodes a night to catch up on all episodes. I forgot how scary some of it was. Have you watched it? What do you think?

Have a fabulous  Sunday and brand new week!

  1. Greg says:

Stranger Things can get a bit creepy! I’m looking forward to S3 whenever it comes out.

It’s been cold here too, and we even have a little snow on the ground 🙂

    • fuonlyknew says:

And I like creepy. LOL It’s hot today but a cold front is coming in and we’ll be pretty cold by Wednesday morning!

  2. Swimming is definitely out these days – especially outside :p I hope you’ll find other things to do with your weekends.
Stranger Things is awesome – and scary. I’ve only watched the first season, but I will definitely get to season two at some point.
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading.

    • fuonlyknew says:

Yep, swimming is mostly over unless I’m really brave. LOL We’re almost to Season Two of Stranger Things and it’s getting creepier!

  3. Swimming has been out of the question for months for me now, not mentioning that there has already been snow xD but I hope you get some warmer weather 🙂 have a great week, Laura!

  4. I enjoyed the first season of Stranger Things but then kinda grew tired of it and went on something silly-gory called Crazyhead.

Speaking of silly-gory, I laughed when I read the title Dead Girls Don’t Blog. It sounds like a cozy with a sense of humor.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I like silly=gory. I’ll check that one out. The title for Dead Girls Don’t Blog is fun. The other books have similar titles too.

  5. Gayathri Lakshminarayanan says:

I loved Stranger things. It is full on winter around here in Dubai, but then I am sure your temperature would be lower than what we have.

    • fuonlyknew says:

Our weather goes up and down all winter. 70s and 80s and then as love as freezing some nights. I like those warm spells:)

  6. Good luck with the cold! That sounds awful! The Sensitives looks right up my alley. I need to look that up. Secrets of Greek Revival looks awesome too!

  7. Rachel @Waves of Fiction says:

I have yet to try a cozy murder, but I should. I always liked Murder She Wrote, the old TV show and I imagine the cozy mysteries are like that. 🙂

  8. It’s been really cold here but thankfully I have a warm house and a cozy duvet! No sign of the snow the weather people keep telling us about…

    • fuonlyknew says:

I hope we don’t get snow here. The AX is running right now but I expect I’ll be using the heat by Wednesday. Weird!

  9. Beware Of The Reader says:

Hahaha no I haven’t watched Stranger Things and no I would not go swimming in this weather either. I have seen all the cozy mysteries reviews and was thinking: who are you and what have you done with Laura??? Until you came back with some scary read LOL. Happy unday!

  10. I haven’t yet watched Stranger Things, but I hear good things.

I hate windy weather…stay warm and cozy. Thanks for sharing those books, and here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES

    • fuonlyknew says:

It’s a fun show with lots of mystery and scary bits. The wind has been howling here for days. Guess it’s blowing in the cold spell.

  11. Ok, I wanna read those books with the dogs on the cover just because of the dogs on the cover! It was super cold here this weekend. Saturday night I let the dogs out and it was snowing (nothing that stuck, but still!)
    Stay warm!

    • fuonlyknew says:

Watson is such a character. Cute and grumpy little Corgi. LOL Our cold weather comes in starting tomorrow. My dog loves it. Me, not so much.

  12. northwoman says:

Hmm well I don’t watch tv. Again we never made it to the pool this year. It also dropped about 10 degrees here and it’s dropped to freezing at night now. I don’t mind cool but windy is not my favorite. I have to wear socks/ slippers in the house now to keep warm. Sigh. I prefer barefoot. Anne – Books of My Heart

    • fuonlyknew says:

I’m a barefoot gall too. Already missing that but we do get occasional warm spells here during the winter. That helps me get through it. LOL

  13. kozbisa says:

That dog on those covers delights me to no end. I feel like I am one of the few people who has not seen Stranger Things, but I watch very little TV. Glad you and your son are enjoying it.

  14. Yvonne says:

I just returned from vacation where the temps were nice and warm and now I’m back to cold temps. Yuck! I’ve been reading cozies too. Hope you have a great week!

  15. Oh I love Stranger Things! I’m so excited for S3 and not impressed that I need to wait until next year! lol
I feel you on the weather… It’s done nothing but rain here – like omg build an arc! type rain – all weekend. Although, we weren’t at swimming pool temperatures before now! lol

    • fuonlyknew says:

That’s the only bad thing about binging shows. The wait for the next season. It’s raining here now but soon as it clears the cold is coming.

  16. Love Stranger Things! Any swimming around here will be indoors!

  17. The temps took a dive here as well. That cover to The Sensitives is super freaky. Of course, I find kids scary anyway!

    • fuonlyknew says:

We are going to get really cold here mid week. Very unusual. The Sensitives sounds like a good series and I’m looking forward to starting on it.

  18. Stormi D Johnson says:

It is SNOWING as I type this, in November! I don’t remember the last time it snowed this early here and I am not liking what it may say about how winter is going to be! 🙁 🙁 🙁

I love Stranger Things!! I need to rewatch that soon! 🙂

    Have a great week!
    Stormi

    • fuonlyknew says:

Snowing! That’s crazy for your area this early. We are going to get some of that cold coming in tomorrow night. Not as cold as you but still….Yikes!

  19. Definitely too cold for swimming! I don’t swim if it’s below 90 degrees but I’m kind of a wimp. For now I’m just refusing to go outside. I’m curious about Stranger Things. I’ve heard good things! Have a great week!

  20. StackingMy BookShelves says:

Swimming has been out for us for a long time. I don’t entirely hate the cold but really want it to be warm and sunny. I do like the pretty snow. Have a wonderful week and keep warm!

    Mary #SundayRoundup #44!

  21. Oh my gosh. Same here! That was an adjustment. We went from 70s to 30s at night and one night 28. So rude! lol Hope yall stay warm this week!

  22. I’m not liking this cold very much and the rain, rain, can go away!
