This is my own version of a weekly book haul and all things new on fuonlyknew.

I’m also linking up with The Sunday Post hosted by Kimberly @Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

~~~~~
Some chit chat.
It was another crazy week with the weather. Luckily I had a bunch of great reads to burn up the hours. And I finally watched Meg. It was fun. Better than I expected from some of the reviews I’d read. Well worth the many years I waited for it.
I’ve also been busy blogging ahead. I have 10 days off for Christmas and have a collection of movies and a large stack of books to enjoy. It’s my present to myself!
And I’m writing a lot of reviews to share at the beginning of the year. I’m struggling to decide which will be my first review for 2019. I have so many great ones to choose from. I think I have it narrowed down to five contenders. I’m going to do a post so you can help me choose which one. It will be going up next week.
Have a fabulous  Sunday and brand new week!
    Ooh glad you liked The Meg! And 10 days with lots of books and movies sounds pretty awesome. 🙂
    Your new stuff looks good, I like the look of those detective books, and After the Ending looks like my kinda read!
    • fuonlyknew says:
      The Meg was fun. Better than I had hoped. And my reading is all over the place. I’m really mixing up the genre and also trying to catch up on some series.
  2. Gayathri Lakshminarayanan says:
    I have not even planned for the week for my blog and you are already talking about the first review of 2019. Sigh I wish I were more planned!
  3. kozbisa says:
    How awesome to have 10 days off for the holiday. I have Christmas Day off. I guess somebody has to work, why not me. I admire all of you who blog ahead. I do all my posts for the upcoming week on the weekends, and that’s it. One week ahead. Sometimes I will read blog tour books early, and get those done, but yeah, that’s about it. Good for you! Let There Be Love looks really cute. Hope all your new books are great.
    • fuonlyknew says:
      I’ve had jobs where I always worked the holidays. Like when I was bartending. I volunteered to work on those days even though we didn’t have to open. I was single and figured there were others with no place to go too. The job I have now is a family owned business and we always close for holidays. I like that.
  4. I’ve been concerned about The Meg since I saw that it was a 12! I was expecting it to be a 15 or 18 certificate so that instantly worries me. I will still get it watched at some point, maybe tonight if I find time!
    • fuonlyknew says:
      Go into it with no expectations and I think you’ll enjoy it. The scenes with the shark were much better than I was expecting.
  5. Have a wonderful Christmas, enjoy your time off, and enjoy your books!
  6. Stormi D Johnson says:
    Sounds like you have a great time planned for Christmas. I liked Meg, it wasn’t much like the book but it was still about a big shark and it was fun! 🙂
    Have a great week!
    Week in Review
    • fuonlyknew says:
      I’m all ready for the holiday vacation! Can’t wait. Meg was fun. Not much like a book bad that might be a good thing as there was plenty of action right from the start.
  7. My last day of work is Thursday and got back the 31st. I can’t wait for the break, I plan to blog ahead, read and spend time with the kids. I want to see Meg, I love Shark Movies.
    Have a great week, Laura! Happy Reading! 🙂
    • fuonlyknew says:
      My last day is this Friday and then I go back after January 1st. I sure need the time off. No big plans, just do what I want when I want. LOL I think you’ll like Meg. I did:)
  8. northwoman says:
    I love your present to yourself; I am doing similar this holiday. This week is a busy one though. I feel like it is almost worse than reading books for upcoming reviews ( which I selected because I want to read them) because reading stuff I just want to read and don’t have to review, the options are so endless! I got some of those freebies too. Our weather is supposed to be good this week near 60 and sunny! I hope you have a great week ahead and enjoy the holiday reading!
    • fuonlyknew says:
      I always try to treat myself over the holiday! I’m reading a series right now. Plan to read all of them one right after the other. They’ve been waiting on me for too long. LOL That makes choosing my next read easy.
  9. Sounds like you’ll be giving yourself a great gift! 😉
    I love the look of your new books. Especially ‘How To Save An Undead Life’.
    Have a great week and happy reading!
    • fuonlyknew says:
      I always try to remember to treat myself:) I started How To Save An Undead Life the moment I grabbed it. Fun so far!
  10. I love picking out first books of the year…and I like the look of your haul. Watching caught my eye, and the Lesley Diehl book, as I’ve enjoyed some of hers.
    Thanks for sharing, and for visiting my blog.
    • fuonlyknew says:
      I have fun deciding which book will be my first to review in a new year. I usually plan on a lst one for the year too. Not sure what it will be yet either.
  11. Yvonne says:
    Our weather has been okay, but today we are getting alot of rain. Better than snow, though 🙂 I plan to stay inside today and do alot of reading. I have some of the same books you do. Enjoy your time off!
  12. I want to watch The Meg. It’s available at Redbox, so I may rent it, but not yet. Gotta get through some more Christmas movies first. lol
    I have nothing ready for 2019 and it’s a bit stressful and depressing. I may take January off to build up a supply of reviews. We’ll see. 🙂
    • fuonlyknew says:
      The Meg was fun and better than I expected. I do love man eating critters. LOL I also have been watching some new holiday movies and old favorites.
  13. Thannya says:
    Even after reading so many bad reviews, I still want to watch Meg. 🙂 I hope you enjoy your free days and have fun reading and watching all those films.
    Wishes of a happy week. 🙂
    • fuonlyknew says:
      I read some bad reviews for Meg too. That’s why I was surprised that I liked it as much as I did. LOL I have some holiday and horror reads and movies to watch. It will be a treat!
  14. Beware Of The Reader says:
    Blogging ahead Laura? Wow!
  15. I have one more week until my Christmas break starts and I am super excited!!! Hope you enjoy your time off!
  16. What a treat for you to have so many days for reading and movies! I hope you read lots of great books!
  17. Rachel @Waves of Fiction says:
    Yay for 10 days off. I was just about to sit down and watch The Meg, so we’ll see how it goes.
  18. Ten days off? With lots of books and movies? It sounds perfect!
  19. I still haven’t seen The Meg. I meant to watch it a few years ago, but that didn’t happen. Enjoy your new books! Have a great week!
  20. Wow, you are so organized with blogging ahead! Sadly, I’m not 🙁 I’m taking time off work as well to enjoy Christmas Break with my kids. Have a wonderful Christmas and enjoy your time off!! How to Save an Undead Life sounds really good
    • fuonlyknew says:
      I’m usually further ahead but kind of slacking as things are busy away from the blog. I can’t wait for the holiday break. How To Save An Undead Life is fun. I hope to finish it in the next couple of days.
  21. Daniela Ark says:
    My daughter is dying to watch Meg but I wasn’t too excited because the reviews too! Glad to hear it wasn’t that bad because I know I’ll have to watch it with her 🙂 Looking forward to your post to help you choose your first 2019 review! Such an important decision! Glad you are sharing it with us! 🙂
    • fuonlyknew says:
      I think you’ll enjoy Meg. I was surprised by it. The reviews had me thinking it would be awful, but it wasn’t. I think you’ll recognize a couple of the books in my first choice post. It is important. I want the book to be something everyone would love to read.
  22. S. J. Pajonas (spajonas) says:
    I was just thinking that I’d spend some of my Christmas holiday blogging ahead into January. 🙂 I definitely want to get some posts in the pipeline to make things easier.
    • fuonlyknew says:
      I have some into February already. Of course, many need to be tidied up a bit and I’ll do that over the holiday break. It helps to have a bunch of posts scheduled. I don’t have to think about them anymore:)
  23. Our weather has been all of the place as well but as long as the temps aren’t frigid, I guess I’m okay. I was able to grab the Let There Be Love book as well. You know me, cute dogs and all. My reading list seems to grow longer each time I visit your blog! Your plans sound like an ideal Christmas to me!
    • fuonlyknew says:
      Let There Be Love hooked me because of the title and cute dog. I read the synopsis to make sure a dog was actually in it. LOL
  24. I love having time to relax with a stack of books and movies to binge. Next week is going to be my time to indulge a little as well. I hope that you enjoy all of the titles you plan to read. 🙂
  25. Carole says:
    Enjoy your 10 days off! I really need to learn to blog ahead. I am always doing everything at the last minute. Have a great week and enjoy your new books!
  26. I remember you introduced me to The Meg and I tried to find the books here in the UK 🇬🇧 but the first was unavailable. Now I bet they’ve been re-released! 💕
  27. How wonderful to have ten whole days of books and movies! Hope you’ve stocked up on snacks too? I’m envious of your blogging organisation. I have ideas and placemarkers, but very little in the way of actual posts at the moment!
  28. Lynn says:
    I have time off as well and I’m very much looking forward to reading and watching movies! I love this time of the year, it’s always so cosy!
