This is my own version of a weekly book haul and all things new on fuonlyknew.

I’m also linking up with The Sunday Post hosted by Kimberly @Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

Some chit chat.

I am so glad this week is over. Work was crazy busy and I came home every day exhausted. Guess I got my exercise while getting paid to do it. LOL

I have been watching the clock and noticing that the sun sets later each day. It means that spring is on the way, right? Well, not yet but in the next couple of months. I keep looking at the pool. The water is sparkling clear. The sun reflects off the water, inviting me in. But, when I dip my hand in, it’s still so very cold. Around March the sun will be heating it up to cold instead of frigid. LOL Until then, I wait impatiently, knowing we still have a ways to go with Old Man Winter. It’s going to be freezing temps here on Monday and I have the day off. Plan to snuggle in with some good books and stay warm.

Have a lovely Sunday.

I imagine that water is looking quite inviting and it must be hard to wait! I too am rather anxious for spring already, even if it is only January! You have some awesome looking stuff this week- Cthulhu Armageddon and Moon Games especially! Love the look of both of those.

Have a great weekend and stay warm. 🙂

    • fuonlyknew says:

We’ve had some warm days here but that water is still so cold. I’m tapping my foot and counting the days. LOL I couldn’t resist the cover and title for Cthulhu Armageddon.

  2. Enjoy your books! You have some tempting titles. Thanks for sharing, and for visiting my blog.

  3. I wish I had a pool! Even if we wouldn’t be able to use it all that much, with our long winter and all. I hope yours will heat up as soon as possible to you can start swimming again.
Your new books all look great, I hope you’ll enjoy them.
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading.

  4. Enjoy your new books. I love the cover of Glow. I have noticed the sun setting later finally I can’t wait for spring. It’s really cold here I just need it to be a little warmer. Have a great week.

  5. Meanwhile we have so much snow! Like, more than ankle deep and it just keeps coming. What’s worse is that it melts and then comes again, so we’ve got black ice and snow on top xD it’s nice when it snows a lot, but then after it’s done, it’s just kind of hard to get around xD

    • fuonlyknew says:

I grew up in Michigan and remember those brutal winters and driving with black ice. Scary times. I’m a big baby now after living on the Gulf Coast for over 30 years. A snowy day is so rare here and I don’t do cold so well anymore. LOL

  6. We’re getting that arctic blast, too. It was 47 degrees when I woke up, and it’s supposed to drop to 13 degrees overnight. Eeek! Stay warm!

    • fuonlyknew says:

It’s super windy and around 36 here this morning. Supposed to start warming up again tomorrow and then coold down again later in the week. One thing about the cold fronts here. They move through quickly.

  7. I am always in awe of the number of books that you add each week! Those dog covers get me every time. I hope that you enjoy the books that you read this week. 🙂

    • fuonlyknew says:

I’m dong a Puppy Love challenge next month and always on the look out for covers with dogs on them. I’m reading some cute ones right now.

  8. Ah, the swimming pool talk makes me long for a holiday! It all feels so far away knowing that the worst of Winter is yet to come. 🙁

    • fuonlyknew says:

I know. I have to keep reminding myself that winter is still here for a couple more months. We usually get the coldest days in March. Sigh!

  9. You make the pool sounds so refreshing. We have a long way to go before we see warmer weather, however it has been really weird around NJ so you never know.

Cthulhu Armageddon sounds very interesting. I might need to check it out. I am not a fan of Armageddon but I do love a good western.

Have a great week, Laura! Happy Reading! xx

    • fuonlyknew says:

It looks refreshing but its freezing cold. LOL I’m excited to read my new books. A little bit of every genre to keep it interesting:)

  10. Yvonne says:

We didn’t get the snow they were predicting but we had a lot of rain today. Now the temps are dropping. I want spring! I have some of the same books you do. Hope you enjoy them. Have a great week!

    My Sunday post is here.

    • fuonlyknew says:

It was super windy and cold but the sun finally came out and the wind died down this afternoon. It’s going to warm up over the next few days but that also means rain. LOL

  11. Beware Of The Reader says:

Laura that’s bad that you had so much work but good that it was counting as physical training LOL Enjoy your cuddly Monday!
Now about some book titles that are simply genius: Game of Bones here above is so close to Game of Thrones! And another one that I saw on Jay (James Cudney)’s feed is Much ado about Muffin ! I love when they play with titles!!!

    • fuonlyknew says:

Yep, Monday is stay indoors and read and nap. LOL I love when they come up with quirky clever titles too. And fun covers!

  12. I’m soooo ready to go to the beach. I’m just not a winter person at all.

  13. asreadbytina says:

We’ve been having some crazy weather here in Texas. One day it is nice and warm, like this weekend it’s been mid 60s almost 70s. And they said by the end of the week we’ll have a cold front. I can never figure out how to dress in the morning. My kids have been begging to go to the pool but I’ve told him we still have a couple more weeks to go.

I hope you enjoy all your new books!

  14. The temps are in the negatives here. Over it. Yay for getting paid while exercising. Thats my kind of exercise!

    • fuonlyknew says:

Wow. I haven’t been in weather that cold since I moved south. I remember breathing in and my nostrils getting stuck shut. LOL Stay toasty:)

  15. StackingMy BookShelves says:

I am surprised your pool isn’t frozen over like ours is. We are getting the freezing temps too this week. We got about 4 inches of snow yesterday and rain and sleep on top of it so outside my huge window all you see is ice on the trees. Cool and scary at the same time. Have a wonderful week and stay warm!

    Mary

    • fuonlyknew says:

It doesn’t get freezing cold here enough to freeze. The water is too deep. My dogs wading pool freezes over though. I remember ice storms when I lived in the north. You could here branches cracking and the house would pop!

  16. So many good looking books you grabbed! Happy reading!

  17. S. J. Pajonas (spajonas) says:

It’s been so cold here! I really wish I lived somewhere farther south. 🙂

  18. Lilyn G says:

I want Cthulhu Armageddon! And I just recently got Teeth Marks.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I had to grab Teeth Marks. I’ve enjoyed another one of his books and it looked fun too. Cthulhu Armageddon was an easy choice too. The blurb hooked me right away!

  19. Rachel @Waves of Fiction says:

Eeek! A cold swim doesn’t sound fun. I’m glad the days are getting longer, though. I can actually start running again soon. Glow looks interesting. Hope you enjoy it! 🙂

    • fuonlyknew says:

My son and I are taking long walks. In the summer it’s too hot so we try to get outside during the cooler months:)

  20. kozbisa says:

I like the way you think, but we are only about a month into winter. I am happy we are past the winter equinox though, so we get a little later sunset.

  21. Hope you enjoy all of your new books 🙂

  22. I have the same thought for Monday except we have a doc appt. But it’s going to be 15 here. Brr. You got lots of great books as options. I hope this week is less crazy.

  23. sjhigbee says:

I know what you mean about looking forward to the warmer weather – though here in the UK so far, the winter has been kind to us. Still – the worst is yet to come… Have a great week and I hope you are not quite so exhausted at the end of the day!

  24. I do hope that spring is not far away. We didn’t get much snow but we are getting really cold temps. I’m off Monday too and would love to stay in but have a hair appointment that’s going to take a couple of hours so I want to get it done on my day off. I just know tomorrow morning I’ll dread it though. At least it’s not until 11am.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I do have to go to the grocery store but I plan to go early and have all day to relax before going back to work. I love the extra days off. Feels like I’m playing hookie. LOL

  25. Carole says:

Our pool looks gross with all of snow sitting on its cover right now 🙂 I am so ready for spring! Enjoy your day off tomorrow! I hope you enjoy all of your new books and have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I meant to cover my pool to keep leaves out. Now its too cold to get in and vacuum them out. I can wait. LOL

  26. The days are getting longer. My pool is covered with ice, it will be awhile longer for us. Have a great week.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I usually don’t do much swimming until April. We get one or two cold blasts in March and then the sun starts to warm up the water.

  27. Sorry to hear your week was so crazy busy. I hope you’ll get some rest on your day off today. 🙂
    Happy reading!

  28. Liliana says:

My brother was literally telling me today how it wasn’t dark yet even though it was already 5 pm! That makes me so happy! I don’t really mind the cold so much as I do getting up early in the morning, in the dark, and getting home after work… in the dark. I’m just excited to have more light-filled days! lol

  29. Daniela Ark says:

Sorry to hear it was an exhausting week but… yay for exercising while getting paid! 🙂

Can’t wait for spring either! “The water is sparkling clear. The sun reflects off the water, inviting me in” oh man, I want to visit you! LOL w are indeed freezing today up here in New England LOL You plan sounds amazing, enjoy your snuggling and reading!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I can’t wait for pool weather! I did have a nice weekend indoors watching movies and reading some good books:)

  30. I do see the appeal of a beautiful pool full of clear water, but it is too cold for now. Hoefully you’ll be able to use it soon. Thanks for the list of great books.
Hope you have a great week!

  31. Stormi D Johnson says:

You picked up a lot of good looking books!

  32. herding cats says:

That sounds like a very good plan. It’s way too cold to leave the house here unless you have to. lol

  33. I am so ready for it to be warm again! Awesome new books this week! Glow looks really good! I hope you enjoy all of them 😀

  34. March can’t get her soon enough for me.
    sherry @ fundinmental

  35. Lola says:

I’ve been noticing that too that the sun is setting a bit later, which is a good sign that spring is on it’s way, maybe not soon yet, but it’s a sign in the good direction. Mind Your Manors sounds interesting. I got a few of Pippa Dacosta her books, I enjoyed the one I read so far. I haven’t read that one you listed yet and will have to check if it’s still free. Have a great week.

  36. I’ve always wanted a house with an indoor pool that I could use. Outdoor pools in Scotland are not a good idea!
