My 56 for this week is from:
Outre
Deviation Trilogy #1
by D. J. Adamson
Genre: Mystery / Science Fiction
From 56% in the eBook.
I’d go up to my room and lay in bed. Pretend I’d gone to bed instead of looked out the window. Imagined a night without the storm. Sometimes, I’d even fall asleep and wake up. But nothing had changed.
From what I gathered at this scene, there was a strange storm and Jack’s mother and sister went missing. For some reason he and his dad don’t sleep in the house now. They sleep in a tent outside. I’m getting so curious!

I came across this on Bookbub and was immediately intrigued by the synopsis. It raised questions and I wanted answers. Plus, it has such a wicked cover!
What do you think? Does the synopsis hook you too? What do you think of the cover?

Synopsis
Outré is the first book in a trilogy titled Deviation. The trilogy offers different perspectives on what happened in Pinkerton, Iowa, in the year 1989. The goal of Outré is to take one event (a tornado), add another set of events (women missing, people dead, animal mutilations, the possibility of aliens and alien abduction, others different than the norm) and come to a perspective of what could have happened.
This is Jack Cahill’s account. Fifteen-year-old Jack Cahill, along with his friends Pitts and Diddleman, are lead to believe it was not a tornado that destroyed a large area of Pinkerton but an alien abduction. Their “need to know” sets them on a quest of speculation, accusation, and investigation.
The concept for the trilogy comes from the question: Can we ever be sure that our perception of things is right?

Well Laura the cover makes me think of an alien ship looming in the stormy sky!
Maybe more than one!
I like the cover even though I can’t quite make it out. But isn’t that the point? Aliens or weather? Yes, the synopsis is good!
I think I see a ship and a tornado. I bet the physical cover is stunning. I do love dark, mysterious cover art.
This does sound like it is setting up for something to happen! Very ominous. I hope that you enjoy reading it! 🙂
I’m excited to see how it goes!
So that’s a tornado on the cover. I was having a hard time figuring it out. Of course, it may have something to do with the thunderstorms that ran through in the middle of the night and a 112 pound dog having an anxiety attack. Guess I didn’t give him enough Benadryl.
We get some very strong storms here. My dog, Lassie, would get so freaked out the whole bed would shake like in the Exorcist movie!
This sounds creepy. I’m still trying to figure out what’s on the cover!
I keep thinking I see birds, but I think that is debris flying around.
Wow, I do want to know what happens. Thanks for sharing, and here’s mine: “BEFORE SHE KNEW HIM”
I plan to read it over the weekend. I really want to know the truth of what happened.
Sounds interesting. I hope you enjoy it. This week I am spotlighting Geekerella by Ashley Poston. Happy reading!
Thanks, Kathy. I’m enjoying it and hope to finish it in the next day or so.
I hope you enjoy this one–it sounds intriguing. I’m curious as to why they are sleeping in the tent now too–especially given the storm. Have a great weekend!
I just found out why they sleep outside!
i thought aliens and now i want to know more

Me too. It’s certainly got me engrossed so far.
Not huge on Sci-fi but this sounds interesting.
I like stories about aliens or alien abductions and I’m curious to see how this winds up.
I AM VERY CURIOUS, TOO. Sounds like a good opening for an exciting book. Thanks for visiting my blog.
The story is moving along quickly:)
This sounds really interesting. I’m intrigued! Hope you enjoy it! 🙂
It’s got me hooked at the moment:)
That is a creepy beginning. Hope the book will not be too dark.
I don’t hink it will be too dark. But it is kind of creepy so far.
