This is my own version of a weekly book haul and all things new on fuonlyknew.

I’m also linking up with The Sunday Post hosted by Kimberly @Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

Some chit chat.

I’m sure some of you noticed my absence the past week or so. My internet was down. Had to wait almost a week for them to fix it. Then it lasted one day and went down again. Now it is back up and I hope it stays this time. It was actually not so bad after I accepted that I wouldn’t have internet. I caught up on some television and read some books and just relaxed. My brain feels refreshed. LOL

Have a lovely Sunday everyone.

Sometimes a break is good haha but unscheduled ones- as in internet outages- can be SO frustrating. Glad you were able to make the most of it. 🙂

    Happy Memorial day!

  2. Uggghhh…hate it when the internet goes down. It prevents you from getting things done! Glad your internet is fixed though!

    Here’s my Sunday Post!

Luckily I usually blog ahead so that scheduled posts go up. Summer is a busy time and I usually slow down on a bit on the blog too.

  3. We had a bad storm a few years back that knocked out our internet. Just like you, I was fidgety for a bit, then I settled down and got lots of fun reading in!

  4. I couldn’t survive that long without internet. We don’t have cable or even a DVD player. We only get TV via streaming so no internet means no tv. Plus, I couldn’t download any books to my kindle either!

  5. Yeah I wouldn’t be happy. But I have coping strategies. I do have tons of books already on my Kindle but I couldn’t get the new ones. I also don’t have cable. BUT my phone has unlimited data and I could turn it into a hotspot. I also live close to many places like coffee shops where I could hang out for Internet. I’d rather be home though. We are in for a hot week in the 90s how about you? Have a great week!

    Here is my Sunday Post

    • fuonlyknew says:

I had several places, including both jobs, where I had access to the internet. Just too much hassle to cart the laptop around. LOL It is close to 90 here, sunny and hot. The pool is lovely!

  6. Kendra | Kendra Loves Books says:

Great haul this week, some of those covers look really intriguing! Have a great week!!

  7. The Cursed Kingdom sounds great! I love the cover… Just added to my amazon wishlist.

My entire house falls apart without internet. Everything from our music to our TV runs via the internet so it’d be a very stressful two weeks! Glad you managed to use it for a refresh. 🙂

    • fuonlyknew says:

My entertainment is all from the internet too. Good thing I like doing crosswords and have a huge stack of print books to keep me happy!

  8. alisbooks says:

I love the covers on The Cursed Kingdom and The Dragon Librarian. Hope you enjoy your reads!!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I’ll confess…the covers got me first. LOL Then I read the descriptions and went ahead and grabbed them:)

  9. Stormi D Johnson says:

Breaks are good when you actually want to take them but forced ones sometimes make me antsy…lol. Glad you got to enjoy some tv and reading and your brain feels refreshed. 🙂

Have a great week and happy reading!

  10. Beware Of The Reader says:

So, a blessing in disguise yes? LOL But you are right Laura taking some time off the blog and social media helps feeling refreshed and energized again! Happy Sunday.

  11. Gayathri Lakshminarayanan says:

Sometimes unplanned breaks are the best. We have some check up for the internet connection tomorrow, so I hope that would avoid us any outbreak in the near future.

    • fuonlyknew says:

They did come by again to make sure everything was working right. Thought that was very nice!

  12. sjhigbee says:

Yes… glad you found the break from the internet refreshing – I’m sure there’s a lesson in there for us all, somewhere! In the meantime – thank you for the freebie section – I just got hold of A Little Bit Witchy:)). Have a great weekend, Laura!

    • fuonlyknew says:

It was a it surprising how quickly I got over the frustration. Guess I did need that break. And a favorite part of the post is hunting for freebies to share:)

  13. LOL I’m glad you’re feeling refreshed. Gotta thank the internet went down so you could relax 🙂

  14. *Flora* says:

It’s funny how something as frustrating as your loss of internet can actually turn out to be a blessing in the long run.

I’m glad you’re feeling refreshed. I hope you have a great week.

  15. Yvonne says:

I hate when I have any kind of computer problems, but it does help catching up with TV and reading. I hope you have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

We are so used to everything at our fingertips, we are lst without it. LOL I did enjoy some time away.

  16. Rachel @Waves of Fiction says:

Sometimes it’s nice to be unplugged. I actually get more reading done, too. Finding Cranky Cat looks fun. Happy reading! 🙂

    • fuonlyknew says:

I did get a ton of reading in. I couldn’t resist Cranky Cat. Reminds of those Finding Waldo books and they were fun!

  17. kozbisa says:

My heart goes out to you. I always feel so lost when my internet is out. You would never know I didn’t grow up with this.

    • fuonlyknew says:

Exactly. I tell my son how I actually used a manual typewriter. And a word processor in college. LOL

  18. LOL, we are all so reliant on an Internet connection these days, it’s faintly ridiculous.

    Have a great reading week

  19. When I lose the internet I get annoyed about not being able to go to my blog-the rest of it I can live without! Glad you are reconnected!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I do find it hard to not comment to people on my blog. I always respond to comments and feel bad when I can’t:)

  20. S. J. Pajonas (spajonas) says:

Ugh. I can’t survive without internet. I hope yours is back to stay! Oh, I wanted to let you know that the first book in my cozy mysteries is currently free, since I know you read cozies. There’s a post on my blog with links if you’re interested. Have a great week!

  21. Here I thought maybe you went away for a little vacay. Sorry about the internet issues, they always suck.
