This is my own version of a weekly book haul and all things new on fuonlyknew.

I’m also linking up with The Sunday Post hosted by Kimberly @Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

Some chit chat.

I found out what was wrong with my car and it’s going to cost me a bit to fix it. My SUV is an older model but I had the engine rebuilt a few years ago so I decided it was worth the money to go ahead and fix it. I do plan on starting to look around for something else. A backup vehicle. Maybe a car. Guess I’ll have to keep working both jobs for longer than I wanted to to help with that purchase.

On a brighter note, I managed to squeeze in some pool time. Since the rains we had been having lowered the water temp it was wonderful and so relaxing. And I binged a new show. Have you watched Another Life? It was okay and I do hope they continue with it. And I managed to clean most of my house. LOL

Have a lovely Sunday everyone.

I hope you are having a more relaxed week ahead and your car troubles get settled soon. And yay to pool time!

  4. kozbisa says:

Car repairs give me anxiety. The bills always leave me in tears. Sorry about the car, but looking for a new one is sort of fun. Glad you have been able to get some R&R in the pool. I remember the water always being so warm in FL (even in the ocean), so it’s nice the rain made the pool a little cooler.

    • fuonlyknew says:

Yeah, not crazy about the repair bill but I will be happy to get my vehicle back. I used to joke that you could sweat while swimming in the ocean here. LOL

  5. *Flora* says:

Vehicles are an expensive thing to run and to get fixed when they break but I don’t think I could go car-less again. I wish you luck on your search.

I hope you have a great week and enjoy your reads.

I could never be without a vehicle. Two jobs and some other commitments make that impossible. hat’s why I want a spare one. So I’ll be covered when one breaks down:)

  6. Tammy says:

Seeing snow on book covers right now is so refreshing! I went to visit my parents in the desert yesterday and it was 108!

  7. Car troubles suck and it is kind of a bummer you have to keep working 2 jobs to get another vehicle. Being an adult is a pain in the butt.

  8. Sherry Fundin says:

i held myself to one of your freebies. can you guess which one? lol

  9. sjhigbee says:

Urg! I always hate it when things go wrong with a much-loved car… I hope that the repairs aren’t too expensive and it then goes on to give yet more service. Glad you are enjoying pool time, still:)

  10. Molly's Book Nook says:

I’m sorry about your car! Its never fun to deal with that. I’ve never heard of Another Life. Is it on Netflix? Hope you have a good week!

  11. Liliana says:

Oh no, car troubles is never fun. I need to go get some swimming in before summer is over, too.

    Have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

Yep, it’s a pain to be without my car and another expense not planned for. I can’t wait to get my vehicle back. And our swimming weather lasts well into October here.

  12. Greg says:

I started Another Life last night and only watched a little bit, but so far it looks good. Definitely can see binging that one! And sorry to hear about the car troubles. I’m having trouble with mine too, it’s starting to get expensive. 🙂

Hope you have a good week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

This is the first repair I’ve has in a year so I guess that’s not too bad for an older vehicle. I sure can’t afford a new one right now.

  13. Well done on getting caught up on the housework! Sorry to hear about the car though, that sucks.
I’m so envious of the nice cool swimming pool right now! We’ve had stupidly hot temperatures this past week and I’ve been melting!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I still have many chores to do and working on them one by one, in between reading and binging the telly. LOL I probably wouldn’t step outside in the summer here if not for the pool!

  14. Stormi D Johnson says:

Ah bummer you car repairs are going to cost more than you wanted. Them cars repairs will get ya. You got a lot of cool looking books!

Have a great week and happy reading!

    Week in Review

  15. I’m super intrigued by that Lizzie Borden book. Definitely looking into it and clicking your review/post IMMEDIATELY after I finish this comment. Sorry to hear about the car repairs and its cost! But, it’s great you got to squeeze in some pool time. I hope this week treats you well!

  16. I enjoyed The Last Flag and so did my dad. I’m hoping for a sequel. I like a bit of mindless zombie fun!

  17. Car repairs suck! (says the woman who is still in denial that her truck is not moving). I NEED Santa’s Dog. I’m gearing up for Dog Days of Summer and have WAY too many dog books already – but will be adding more. I saw Cryptid Country over at Chuckles and thought it looked good as well. Hope you have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

It’s my only vehicle at the moment so I had to get it up and running. I do plan to pick up a second car when I can. Santa’s Dog was one I couldn’t resist. I was glad Chuckles shared Cryptid Country. I didn’t realize the second book was out.

  18. We just had the engine rebuilt on our SUV, I really hope it’s not going to need any further repairs for a longggg time!

Wishing you a great reading week

    • fuonlyknew says:

I had the engine rebuilt a couple of years ago. That’s why I thought it was worth it to do these repairs. The engine is still strong.

  19. All I want for Christmas looks interesting. I wish you happy reading for all of these books you got!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I’m already reading some winter books so I can get the reviews scheduled ahead. Never too early:)

  20. Cars are so expensive to fix! We’ve had some really expensive repairs in the last year. I’ll have to check out Another Life, when I’m ready for a new show to binge on. It looks like you got a ton of awesome books to read! Happy Reading and I hope you have a wonderful week Laura!

    • fuonlyknew says:

Mine is an older model so probably not as costly in repairs as new ones with so many extras. Another Life was fun and I hope they continue with it.

  21. Sorry your car is going to cost some money to fix. It’s always hard to decide when they get past a certain age if they’re worth fixing.

I like the Christmas books you got! Some of the others look kind of scary and I’m wimp when it comes to scary books…lol

    Have a good week, Laura!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I had the engine rebult a few years ago so I figured it was worth the cost to repair it again. I figure its a car payment, right. LOL

  22. Beware Of The Reader says:

I am sorry to hear about your car Laura!!

    • fuonlyknew says:

Thanks. They still haven’t finished the repairs. I was on a long waiting list. I hope to get it the beginning of next week!
