This is my own version of a weekly book haul and all things new on fuonlyknew.

I’m also linking up with The Sunday Post hosted by Kimberly @Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

Some chit chat.

Another week gone. The summer sure flew by and fall is here. But, it doesn’t feel like it. Still hot enough for some time in the pool. I’m also enjoying reading outside again now that the humidity isn’t so bad. Spending some mornings on the back deck with a good book and a hot cuppa tea.

I’ve been busy writing a bunch more reviews for my Thrills And Chills feature this month. If you like scary books, be sure to check out my features shared further down in this post. Got some good ones. And if you have some horror recommendations, I’d love to hear them.

Right now I’m watching American Psycho. Been years since I last watched it and I forgot how twisted it was. LOL

Have a lovely Sunday everyone.

  1. Greg says:

Haha Scavenger Hunt looks twisted! 🙂

Glad you’re still having some decent weather. It’s starting to really cool off here now.

  2. kozbisa says:

Fall arrived right in time for my return, and I am happy about it. I never read scary books. I have tagged in for some atmospheric reads, but not scary. I hope you enjoy all 31 chilling and thrilling days

  3. Sounds like it’s going to be a busy month of horror-just what I like to see! I’ll be checking out all your posts!

  4. I’ve been spending time reading outside, too. I love it so much. I’d love to have a spring/fall rotation all year long.

  5. Our weather is finally cooler – YAY. I’m sorry I am not much of a horror reader but I am impressed with your work on all the posts for this month.

I loved the cover on A Change in Tide so I had to get it. It’s about 400 pages too. Have a wonderful week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

Still hot but fall is coming. I’m picking up pecans now and they are yummy! A Change In Tide sounded too good to pass up and I enjoy longer books also.

  6. Liliana says:

Our weather isn’t too bad either! In the mornings it can be very cold, but by the afternoon it’s warm enough you don’t even need a sweater.

I’ve been really enjoying your Halloween posts! You’re doing great!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I do look forward to cool mornigs. I always start the day invigorated:) And I’m having such fun with my spooky month of books. Thanks!

  7. Beware Of The Reader says:

I see you are in full horror and chill mood Laura!!! What a work you have writing all these!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I sure am. LOL I still have about six more reviews to write along with others not included in the Chills And Thrills feature. I suspect reviews will be light in November. LOL

  8. Yippie…you’re going to review the horror anthology MIDNIGHT IN THE GRAVEYARD that one of my short stories (The Gravedigger’s Story) is included in. I was disappointed I wasn’t actually listed on the front cover, but, hey, alongside such great writers as McCammon and Monteleone, I can’t complain. I feel honored to be among them.
I, myself, am happy fall is here…I hate hot weather and summer this year was brutal. I always feel more alive in fall and winter (unless we get too many blizzards, ha ha).

    • fuonlyknew says:

You bet I’m going to read and review it! You are in great company and I can’t wait to read your story, Kathryn!

      • Thanks Laura…I can always depend on you (and Sherry). It got down to 50 degrees this morning and I’m enjoying the brisk fall air. This morning my husband, Russell, and I were outside on our patio playing with our pet squirrel. Yes, squirrel. Our cat caught him as a baby on my birthday in August and we took him and raised him until he was a little older, stronger and then put his cage outside in our patio tree; opened the door. Freed him. He runs all over the tree and patio now and goes back to his cage, with a bed for him in it, at night. He always comes out to climb all over us when we go outside to the patio. His name is Rocket. He’s tiny, but such a sweet little creature. I never knew squirrels could be so lovable. He loves my husband. Well, enough critter news. I love fall!

      • fuonlyknew says:

Rocket sounds adorable. Squirrels are smart!

  9. Berls says:

You’re so right – it does NOT feel like fall yet, does it? But if I had a pool, that would be pretty okay for me. I love to sit outside and read, once the temperature falls. We’re not there yet.

I don’t do scary/horror, but your feature looks great! Enjoy all your scary reads & tv!

    • fuonlyknew says:

It’s still hot in the mornings but there is usually a southern breeze and I have plenty of shade to read under:)

  10. Fall finally arrived in Ohio and I am THRILLED!!!

  11. The cooler weather has definitely arrived in my part of the world. It’s been cold the last few days and I’m thinking I’ll need to put the heating on soon. Hope you enjoy your new books. 🙂

  12. It finally cooled down here this weekend and we also got some much needed rain. It was a dust bowl here. I am loving all your horror reviews and I’ll be starting the Collings book this week as well!

    • fuonlyknew says:

We were supposed to get some rain and a cool down. We got some nights that were a bit cooler but that’s it for now. I am having such fun with this month’s horror theme!

  13. Rachel @Waves of Fiction says:

I never watched American Psycho, but remember when it came out. Nice that you’re enjoying the lower humidity. I’m enjoying the cooler temps, too! 🙂

  14. yvonne473 says:

I do love the spooky books and yours always sound so good. Enjoy your October reading! Have a great week!

  15. It’s been boiling here until this weekend when we’ve suddenly gotten cold. Hopefully it will cool down your way too! I’ve never watched American Psycho but it’s been tempting me. Have a great week!
