Genre: Cozy Mystery

Synopsis

Mackinac Island is a peaceful summer resort town where everyone coasts through the streets on bicycles. But after someone sends a prominent local on her final ride, it’s up to one resourceful visitor to get things running again…

Hoping to shift her chances of a promotion in her favor, Evie Bloomfield heads to Mackinac Island to assist her boss’s father. Rudy Randolph has broken his leg and operating his bike shop, Rudy’s Rides, is too much to handle by himself. But Evie’s good turn only leads to more trouble…

After Evie’s arrival, wealthy resident Bunny Harrington dies in what looks like a freak bike accident. Upon closer inspection, Bunny’s brakes were tampered with, and now the prime suspect in her murder is also Bunny’s number one enemy: Rudy. So if Evie hopes to stay on her boss’s good side, she’ll need to steer Rudy clear of jail. Now she must quickly solve this mystery so she can put the brakes on the real killer’s plan…

I added this book back in December of 2014. I’ve actually been to Mackinac Island and I’m thinking this would be a fun book that would bring back some wonderful memories. Minus the murder, of course. LOL

  1. Yeah you don’t want the murder part of it during a trip! I’ve got quite a few books on the TBR from 2014 that I need to deal with but most are UF and I’m not in the mood for it at the moment!

  2. Tammy says:

This sounds pretty good! Plus I’d love to read about a place where everyone rides bikes😁

    • fuonlyknew says:

No cars are allowed. You take a ferry over to the island. And you can also ride horses that they have stabled there.

  3. oh yeah. mackinac island….been there, done that and any book that takes place there is one i would want to read

  4. Sophia Rose says:

Oh neat! I’ve never been to Mackinaw Island, but always wanted to go. Yes, hope its full of the setting for you. 🙂

  5. Hope you manage to read this book soon and that you enjoy it. I was looking at my Goodreads the other day and saw some books I’d added in 2010 so I’m aware I should read them before too much longer!

  6. kozbisa says:

I love reading books and watching films/TV shows set in places I have visited. Sounds like a fun mystery and if the author made use of the community, it could be really great.

  7. Carole says:

It is fun to read books set in places you have been. This does sound like a promising read. I hope you enjoy it, Laura!
