Mountain Resort Mystery Series Book 1
by Shannon Work
Genre: Mystery
Two murders. A terrified mountain resort. Can a daring reporter help stop an avalanche of dead bodies?
Celebrity TV anchor Georgia Glass wants out of Denver and far away from her obsessed fan. Set to host her own investigative crime show in LA, she’s surprised to inherit a Victorian house in Aspen from a mysterious uncle she never knew. But while exploring the gothic property, she discovers the frozen corpse of a missing heiress.
Georgia’s journalist instincts kick in and she is determined to help police track down the killer. But by investigating the murder, has she made herself the killer’s next target?
Can Georgia help solve the case before she becomes the next victim? Or will the stalker that followed her to Aspen get her first?
Now I See You is a fast-paced whodunit set amidst the spectacular scenery of Aspen, Colorado, and the first book in the suspenseful Mountain Resort Mystery series.

Most of her working life has been spent developing real estate, earning a national Best in America Living Award for one of her developments. After two failed starts at writing a novel while raising three kids and working, she retired to pursue her dream of writing mystery novels full time.
Shannon and her husband are recent empty nesters and split their time between Houston, Texas and Telluride, Colorado. Always with their laptops and dogs in tow.

  1. Mary Preston says:

The perfect title and cover for a mystery.

  2. Fun book description. I hope Georgia can figure out who killed the heiress!

  3. Veronica Lee says:

The book title and cover are intriguing! Must read!

  4. It’s a common question I’m sure, but I like to know how authors think… what makes them tick :-). Where do you get your ideas for a book? Dreams, keep an idea notebook, research, dumb luck?!

    • Shannon Work says:

All of the above! I have a file of story ideas for the next books in the series. I’ve gotten ideas from real news stories, people that I’ve met, research, and just asking a fun “What if ‘x’ happened?” (then build a story around it). Thank you for the great question!

  5. Tammy says:

This sounds so good, and I love the mountain setting😁

    • Shannon Work says:

Thank you, Tammy! The Rocky Mountains were a fun place to set a mystery! Now I See You is set in Aspen, Book 2 (which I’m writing now) is set in Vail. Book 3 will be in Telluride where I have a home. I hope you get a chance to read them and enjoy them!

  6. love that cover. when i see a cover like this i first think…ghosts…and if there aren’t ghosts, there must be murder. 🙂

Great cover! I really liked the synopsis of the book, sounds like my great read.

  8. I’d have to read the story to know but the house on the cover looks isolated and I remember them being closer together in Aspen, but maybe it’s just outside Aspen.

    • Shannon Work says:

Thank you for the comment, Anne! The house in the story is set on the edge of town. It’s on a city street, but somewhat isolated, close to the river. If you read it, I hope you enjoy recognizing some of the real businesses and locations in Aspen. It was such a fun place to set a murder mystery!

  9. Denise Duvall says:

Wishing you success in fulfilling your dream! Looks like you are off to a great start. I love the plot. The cover is eyecatchingly creepy!

  10. Jan Lee says:

Mystery is one of my favorite genres 🙂 My grandparents lived in Colorado and we used to go every summer to visit them; I’ve been to Telluride a couple times!! 🙂

    • Shannon Work says:

Hi Jan! Mystery is one of my favorites, too! Book 3 in the series will be set in Telluride in winter. I’m writing Book 2 now. It’s set in Vail in the summertime. Colorado has been such a fun place to set mystery stories! Thank you for the comment! 🙂

  11. Now that’s a great cover! I’m going to have to check this one out.

  12. Sharon E says:

Great cover and I love a good mystery. Thanks.

  13. Christina D says:
