HURRICANE ISAAC HAS IT’S EYE ON ME!!! Oh Crap!!

Well crap! It has been 7 years since Hurricane Katrina and 8 years since Hurricane Ivan, which pounded us. I was hoping to be lucky again this year, but NO!! We have Hurricane Isaac heading right at us! Time to batten down the fort. It is going to huff and puff and Try to blow my house down!

Hang on to your butts people. We are in for a bumpy ride!

I am doing the usual. Filling up the autos with gas, stocking up on non-perishables, filling all the water containers and bringing in all of the things that could blow away.

I will know better what is coming by tomorrow, but still have to prepare for the worst. It looks like I am on the wrong side of this one. The northeast is usually the worst part of the hurricane as the winds wrap around the eye. Hello, that looks like me! Once it moves through the Keys and enters the Gulf of Mexico, it will suck up the hot water and strengthen.

Alert!!

To everyone! I will probably be without power for some time. Don’t know how long. My posts will be delayed and things that I have scheduled may be late getting posted. I will be emailing as many as I can about scheduled events being delayed.

Time to get busy again. I will be posting until the power goes! Wish me luck!

YIKES!

    Oh, that sounds scary! O.O

  3. Tiffany says:

Wishing you the best. I used to live in Miami and know how bad it can get… Take care of yourself.

  4. Batten down the hatches, Laura! You’ll be in our thoughts.

Thanks so much. Am pretty much battened down now!
Got the DM about the reviews for Teddy Bears. Didn’t want to read the reviews until after mine is posted. Kind of thing I do. Hopefully, I’ll have mine up after this storm passes through.

Oh no! This is not good news. And here I was grumbling about vacuuming and mopping today. Please take good care and keep us posted when possible. Make sure you have a good flashlight and physical books to sustain you … Oh, and some food. May your home make it through unscathed. I will be thinking of you and all the rest who are about to meet Isaac up close and personal.

Thanks so much Kelan. Yeah, had to remember to stock up on food. I was so busy running around making sure kindle was charged up and plenty of candles and batteries to read(oops, mean to see) with. Everybody is just playing the waiting game and holding their breath.

  6. You know I’m thinking of you and Sherry up here in Michigan. Looks like the eye will miss Ft Myers where I have a condo that’s also battened down. Good Luck Laura and keep safe! Charles

      Thanks so much Charles.
I was going to email ya and see how it was going with your place. Lucky you!
We are getting ready to hunker down. Kinda scary. It has been a long time since IVAN. Forgotten how bad it can get. Not looking forward to no power. Thank God for the swimming pool!

    • fuonlyknew says:

Thanks so much Roberta. Just finsihed bringing everything in and tieing things down. House is full of stuff! My son is thrilled. They just announced schools will be closed until at least Thursday!
Will be online until the power goes:)

    Best of luck Laura.

Thank you so much. I just got down off of the roof. Had some branches I had to trim back. The wind is really starting to blow now. No rain yet. Tonight it starts to get scary!

  8. Emma says:

    Hope all is okay, Laura.

    • fuonlyknew says:

Hi Emma. I’ve done all I can for now. Just a wait and see thing now. These things seem to always come in at night. All those creepy snaps and groans and bangs! You’d think I would be used to it by now, but it has been 7 years since Katrina and I tend to forget.

      • Emma says:

I’ll be keeping an eye on the news. I can’t imagine what it’s like to be caught up in a big storm. We’re not used to them here.
