My tease for today is from Morning Warning by A.M. Sawyer
With a frigid tingling creeping up my spine, I watched as a giant rope of blackish Hell touched the ground no more than two hundred yards away from us. I was frozen and rooted to the spot, as I watched it grow bigger and bigger right before my eyes. Worse still, it started moving in my direction.

Over the course of many encounters and many years, I have successfully developed a standard operating procedure for dealing with big, nasty, monsters.
I ran away.
From “Blood Rites” by Jim Butcher. I love reading one or two of his Dresden Files books when I need a break from heavier stuff. This one has one of the funniest opening sequences involving demon monkeys and puppies.
