Some chit chat.
Happy Spring ya’ll. It’s officially here and boy am I glad!
I came home from work the other day and spotted this.
I was saying the other day that spring is not officially here until I see green buds on my pecan trees. I was so excited when I looked up into the tree and spotted these beauties. Sorry I couldn’t get a better picture. Took it from my phone. Trust me, they are a pretty green.
In about a week the trees will be fully green again. My spring fever is at a pitch and I’ve been cleaning gardens and mulching like crazy. It’s coming along nicely and I’ll take pictures when I’m done. Nothing fancy but I enjoy my little piece of heaven.
I’ll be hopping over to check out your Sunday posts so be sure to leave me your link!

Have a great week!

Week In Review
We didn’t get any pecans last year. Weird as I have Elliots and they are the best pecans. Enjoy those new reads. LOL
What a great book haul ! But most of all, yes, burgeons are everywhere, some trees are blooming here even if they have no leaves yet, there are primroses, tulips, grape hyacinths, daisies in the lawn, my neighbor has daffodils, I’m so excited that spring is coming too ! Enjoy and have a great week 😉
Those buds are already opening and turning my trees a lovely green!
I love seeing the green buds on trees. It’s one of the things I like about spring seeing al the trees become green again. I hope you’ll enjoy your new books and have a great week!
I have green popping out of the ground too and my lawn is already getting out of control!
I love the mix of books that you get, such an eclectic mix. I’m jealous you have pecan trees, they’re one of the few nuts that I actually eat. Happy spring!
I am surrounded by pecan trees. I usually can make quite a bit of money selling them to the pecan buyers but last year I didn’t get any pecans off them. About very 5 years we have a bad crop so this fall should be a good one.
I am curious about Bone Bed. You crack me up when you said I have Doctor Sleep but my sister doesn’t…because this is so me. I won’t lend them my copy..I buy them their own!!!
I’m always thinking of my sister. We are both word addicts and like a lot of the same books. I kind of got away from Patricia’s books and happened across Bone Bed. It’s sitting by my bed, staring at me. LOL
Wow what a nice book haul. Have fun reading. I look forward to reading what you think of The Light at the End of Judgment and Day.
My review goes up tomorrow!
I picked up some of those freebies, too. They look so good. Enjoy them and have a great week!
I have fun and spend quite a bit of time browsing to share the freebies. Then I check them Sunday morning before I post and usually have to switch out some. Of course, I usually grab one or two. LOL
I’m happy it is spring now and time to put my boots away! But we do need the rain so hopefully we’ll have some April showers. I picked up one of the freebies, thanks for always sharing these deals!! Have a great week!
We got flooded and now everything is growing like crazy. The battle of the weeds has begun! Enjoy your new book:) I love sharing them.
You must be somewhere south of Richmond, Virginia, because I haven’t seen any green red or yellow on any trees. The daffodils are struggling to get out of the ground but that’s about it. You have a busy week ahead of you. Lots of cool stuff!!!
I’m on the Gulf Coast in Alabama on Mobile Bay. Such a lovely little town, Fairhope.
I am so glad that it’s finally spring! It’s still pretty cold here in the UK but I hope it changes soon 🙂
Thanks for stopping by my post!
I hope your spring arrives soon. It’s seventies and gorgeous here but the humidity will be arriving quickly. We have a very short spring.
Yay for new blooms! And garden time s always good time. Enjoy your books and have a great week.
I’m working away and making lots of trips to the nursery for mulch and plants.
Whoa, very nice haul! I am also jealous of this “spring” you speak of- it snowed 6 inches here on the first day of spring! Yuck. Hope you enjoy all the new books, and have a wonderful week 🙂
Yuck to more snow. I’ve been reading that a lot on other blogs. Seems a lot of ya’ll got snow on the first day of spring. Mother nature can be a b&!ch. LOL
You got a pecan tree?! That is awesome!! Did you grow it from the seed?
Nope, They were grown when I moved here. I’m surrounded by them. They provide great shade and yummy pecans but are very fragile. Their root system is just under the ground so they topple easily in hurricanes and their limbs fall all the time. You definitely don’t want to park under one!
Enjoy those blooms and your new books!
Thanks. You can bet I will!
What is this “Spring?” Still snowing up here. Sigh, buds….
I haven’t heard of most of these, but Doctor Sleep is an excellent book!! I hope you love all your new reads 🙂
Here’s my Weekly Recap!
A lot of them are new to me too. I love discovering new authors:)
Yay for Spring!! The book, The Light at the End of Judgement Day’s cover is odd…that costume is copyrighted by Ubisoft and the Assassin’s Creed symbol. O_o
I thought I recognized something about the cover. That’s what first drew me to the book. Hmm..
Nice assortment of books. Enjoy them all and your budding garden.
Yeah, I’m all over the place in genres. LOL
I have several of the books you picked up, but haven’t yet had the chance to read any of them. Glad you’re seeing signs of spring! I need to attack my flower beds!
I’d need several ereaders if I grabbed every book. LOL My flower beds are coming along nicely and I’m now working on the ones in front of the house. They are more work.
You got some great books – I can’t believe I still haven’t read Doctor Sleep!
A friend told me to reread The Shining first so I did. I forgot how good that book was. Now on to Doctor Sleep!
I soooo can’t wait until everything turns green. All I currently have to stare at is concrete and dead brown grass.
I wish you much green soon! There are so many shades of it in my yard now:)
I am SO happy spring is here! I really enjoyed Gone Girl, and the hardcover is GORGEOUS!
I took a peek inside and forced myself to stop. I have several review books to finish first. It’s so tempting. LOL
Jealous of those pecan trees! the most I can do is apples. LOL. Also, that is an impressive haul for $10 especially as most are hardbacks. Here in the UK that’d be the equivalent of about $30 second-hand and $75 new.
Here’s to the green arriving promptly (looks at the UK ‘grey’ and cries a bit!)
Thanks for stopping by mine. xx
I love the pecan trees. Great shade and delicious pecans for free! I did good with the haul. And all but the paperback are in excellent condition. Like new!
Yay for spring!!! Pecan tries are so fun … except when trying to walk barefoot around said pecan trees. :p Great books you got this week. I’m most curious about Doctor Sleep and All The Blue-Eyed Angels.. some wonderfully creepy covers you got there!
My dog loves pecans. He can crack them open and cleans out all of the meat, leaving shell pieces all over. They really hurt when you step on them. LOL I’m anxious to start Doctor Sleep and Blue Eyed Angels is creepy!
Great haul! Thanks for sharing…and enjoy. And thanks for visiting my blog.
I love sharing and this is such a fun meme. I find so many new authors and books and like reading what happened to everyone during the week!
Thanks for sharing all the goodies and picking up Doctor Sleep for me!!!! See you this weekend!!!
I’ll bring it with me. Have one or two more for ya too! Can’t wait for this weekend!
Fluency sounds good, and hope you enjoy. have a wonderful week
I loved Fluency. I’m really enjoying getting back into science fiction.
My winter is coming…. I am sad to see the warm weather disappear!!
Fantastic haul btw… enjoy them all!
Naomi @ Nomi’s Paranormal Palace
After the brutal heat I usually look forward to cooler weather. But by January I’m craving spring already. LOL
I’m thrilled it’s technically spring, but I hope the weather starts acting it. lol. We had snow this morning! And possibly more Friday. But tomorrow it’s to be like 60F. Crazy! LOL!
Have a great week!
So many people are saying they got snow on the first day of spring. Hopefully that will be the end of it and you’ll feel spring at last!
Pecan trees! I am envious! (in a nice way) I’m not sure they would grow up here… but I sure love to eat them!
Lots of freebies this week – have fun reading them all! And I look forward to your review of Fluency.
Oooh that edition of Gone Girl looks really pretty! And I’ve wanted to read Doctor Sleep for a while too. Hope you enjoy all of your reads!
I have to pick up those Ghostly books by Tonya Kappes.
