Some chit chat.
I’m sitting on my couch typing my Sunday Post and fighting the cat and dog for elbow room. LOL They are such hogs and stretch out full length. They’ll start out all curled up and slowly extend their bodies until I’m almost hanging off the end. Boogers!
It’s funny how the change of weather changes their patterns. My dog, Quigley, used to run outside to go to the bathroom and rush back in to get out of the heat. Now he likes to go out in the yard and sleep in the sun since it’s a bit cooler.
My cat, Sheba, used to curl up on a chair or the couch to avoid the cool terra cotta tile floor. Now she chooses a spot in the sun by the back door. The sun is at a lower level in the sky and shines through the glass door, warming the tile.
This got me thinking about how things change with me. I’ve begun pulling out my winter clothes, changing my comforter on my bed to a heavier one, and keeping two changes of clothes in my car since the weather changes so quickly during the day.
So how about you? Do your pets change their habits with the weather? Do you?
Happy Sunday!
Iβll be hopping over to check out your Sunday posts so be sure to leave me your link!

So, what did you get to read this week?
Got any recommendations?
Iβd love to know and thanks so much for visiting fuonlyknew.
Fabulous books this week! We definitely change our habits this time of year. The cat all of a sudden becomes much more interested in cuddling and the dog is back in as fast as possible on cold mornings. And I’m already starting to freeze! Have a great week!
We are still in the 70s and 80s and the humidity is a bit high but not like the blistering heat we had all summer. I put on long flannels and have to switch to shorts quickly. LOL
Hi! I’ve nominated you for the Blogger Recognition Award! Thanks for being part of the blogosphere π

Thanks so much! I’ll hop on over!
It’s interestign to see how animals and humans too change with the seasons. I hate the quick weather changes one moment it’s too cold and then it’s too warm. It’s difficult knowing which clothes to wear.
When we still had rats we noticed their behavior change with the seaosns too, they liked more pieces of cloths in their cage for warmth and often snuggled in the hats of my sweathers. I really miss their snuggles now that it’s getting colder. Enjoy your new books and have a great week!
I bet you do miss them, Lola. I always enjoyed your posts about them:)
What a great list of books you have! I’m at 82% on Netgalley and I swear it kills me (not quite literally but it may be close) to stay out of there. I really should start sharing the books I get but I fell out of that a while back for some reason. It’s so much fun sharing though!
I snorted at The Girl who Tweeted Wolf. That sounds awesome! Have a great week π
I’m no where near that on Netgalley. I have got to stay away from there. LOL
Great haul this week, Laura! I hope you’ll enjoy all your new books – there are both some creepy-looking ones and some that seem more soft, even if there is a murder in the Christmas story, too π
Our habits do change as we move towards winter, for one, we can now sit outside in the sun without feeling too hot – and that’s definitely nice. And it’s also nice to feel the heat in the bathroom floor when coming out of the shower in the morning π
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading!
You described the changes in temp perfectly. Especially after the shower:)
Wow, you got a lot of great books this week! I’ve been dressing for the weather, but carrying a sweater with me for when it gets cool. The weather in CA has been really strange this fall. Today is pretty nice. I hope it stays a bit cooler. I’m so tired of the heat!
I get tired of the heat but the cold weather is not something I look forward to.
The Girl Who Tweeted Wolf *snort* You pick up the most curious books…now I need to know..LOL Those dogs look so comfy..i may just go lay in a sunbeam.
I had to snag that one. The title cracked me up. Quigley and Sheba are such a pair!
None of the books shown are ones I read. You even have one of Lavenes’ I didn’t know about.
I got Joyce and Jim’s book just before she passed away. I’m still reeling about the news.
Oh, you won Linda’s giveaway! Congrats!
I have to fight my two cats for couch space too, lol. In the summer, they like to sprawl on the wooden floor; if it’s super hot, they pick a shady spot otherwise they like to be in the sunshine. It’s cooling off now and we’re battling for couch space. π
Wonderful haul; I see some I need to check out. Have a good week!
I was thrilled to win the books. Plan to set aside time to read them back to back!
I haven’t noticed my pets changing their habits from season to season. I do know they hate the rain. lol I was so bad. I clicked every one of your freebies. I have no control. *hangs head*
Don’t feel bad. I snagged a few too. LOL
Enjoyed reading about your two hogs – the cat and dog. Always the way. I was just thinking it was time to get out the extra blanket for my bed. Hasn’t hit the freezing mark yet here, but been down in the 40s several nights.
We;ve not had much cool weather yet. But I know it’s coming. LOL
OMG! You kill me with your free ones I think I picked up like four or five of them…lol. Only difference my dogs make is they hibernate a bit more than they did in the summer and three of them won’t hardly leave the heater….lol. π
Can’t wait to see two of the three your reviewing cause I have both of them to read..lol. π
Happy reading!
Stormi
Got ya again! You got me too. One of yours wasn’t free anymore, and I bought it! LOL
Thank you so much for stopping by my post and welcoming me to The Sunday Post!
I don’t have any pets anymore, but when I did, my dog would always try to climbing into our laps in the winter, because the floor could be cold. And he was a pretty big dog.
Mine is 100 pounds and he still tries to crawl in my lap. He also wakes me up at night snoring. LOL
I thought your dog was a giant cat for a moment there. lol. I definitely change habits. I follow the sun, just like the animals. π
The cats change their habits and we do too. They have the sun spots sussed out.
I have a prissy dog, even though he’s 100% mutt born in rural Maine so he SHOULD be tough. When it rains he’s out and back lickety split! Sometimes he’ll even look and turn around as if to say, “I’ll hold it, thanks”. And forget going out on a line – he has to be by people! I put him on his tie-out and he just sits there and stares at me, like he’s not sure if he can move. UGH! How did this happen?!?!?!
I already pulled out my winter clothes AND I went one step further and even took some sweaters to the dry cleaners!
So depressing… Here’s to normal temps and one outfit a day!
Wow! A lot of new reads there. And I have to say…. A Piece of You looks exceedingly creepy. I don’t think I’d be able to look at the cover and would have to leave it lying around pages-up!
I want SUMMER back!!! I was up in the middle of the night, wind howling, rain beating against the windows…blah.
sherry @ fundinmental
I honestly try to layer up in the cold months, but I seem to always wear shorts no matter what the weather. Guess it is just me.
My cats love the gas fireplace when it gets cold. We put a rug in front of it and as soon as the fireplace is on they lay curl up in front of it. Of course, if there’s any sunshine shining on the floor they curl up on that, too, no matter what season it is. And I’ve been moving clothes in my closet so the warmer ones are available.
Have a great week, Laura!
I just have Baby, and I noticed this weekend (given, we were out of town at a friend’s who actually had a fenced-in yard) that she was running around, getting all frisky catching any slight smell in the breeze and chasing it down. She was so funny to watch, and I know it’s because of this drastically cooler weather. I am starting to pull out the sweaters and long sleeves too. The cold is my nemesis.
Great haul this week! It’s still is warm here in California but it should cool down soon (I hope). The only change our dog does is when it is raining outside. She doesn’t like to go to our backyard since it is a long walk for her to the grass. She goes to our front door because the grass is only a couple steps away from our door lol. It’s so funny how they act when the weather changes. I hope you enjoy your new books and have a great week!!
