“I don’t know what they’re giving you here, but I could swear your eyes are actually a deeper shade of blue.”
“That’s impossible,” he said. “Eyes don’t change color.”
Read on if you want to know more.
Synopsis
When Reuben Golding, a young reporter on assignment, arrives at a secluded mansion on a bluff high above the Pacific, it’s at the behest of the home’s enigmatic female owner. She quickly seduces him, but their idyllic night is shattered by violence when the man is inexplicably attacked—bitten—by a beast he cannot see in the rural darkness. It will set in motion a terrifying yet seductive transformation that will propel Reuben into a mysterious new world and raise profound questions. Why has he been given the wolf gift? What is its true nature–good or evil? And are there others out there like him?

I haven’t read anything by Anne Rice, and I don’t know if this book would be for me. But I hope you enjoy it. 🙂
It’s been a long time since I read one of her books. She’s a wonderful writer.
I started reading that one when it first came out and for some reason I never finished. I hope you enjoy it. 🙂

Friday Memes
I looked at this book so many times before I finally picked it up. I loved her vampire novels and love shifters. Don’t know why I waited so long.
I don’t think I have read this one. Have to check. Always nice to see an Anne Rice book bandied about. 🙂
sherry @ fundinmental Friday Memes
You probably have it, Sherry. We both read a bunch of her books. It was fun trying to guess which house was hers in N.O.!
I really like the sound of this! Great choice. Thanks for visiting my Friday meme
I’m hooked already. Glad I decided to grab it.
I haven’t heard of this book before. It sounds like something I would enjoy. Thanks for visiting my blog. Happy reading!
It’s been out for several years. I just kept putting off picking it up. Glad I did!
I read and enjoyed Anne Rice’s vampire books, so I imagine I’d like this one too. Sounds scary-good.
My Friday post features THE LIGHT OF HIDDEN FLOWERS.
Yep, as R. L. Stein says, “Scary good!”
LOVE Rice! She writes amazing stories, whether it’s vampires, lycan or angels! Happy weekend!
Don’t forget the demons! LOL
I actually have not read any of her stuff. I think I’ll have to take a look at them.
She has a bunch and I’ve enjoyed many of them.
Love your 56! Thanks for stopping by mine. 🙂
Thanks! It’s a good book:)
I don’t do werewolves, or were-anything for that matter, but I love Anne Rice, so you never know. 🙂
I used to prefer watching movies about them more than reading. Now, I enjoy them either way. Must say, I prefer the bad ones over the romantic ones.
My favorite of hers is The Witching Hour. I fell in love with New Orleans thanks to her books.
That was a good one. I was in New Orleans and took a trolley ride. Tried to spot her house, but not sure if I found the right one. She sure does get the essence of the town.
Terrified with the cover art! lol You’re very brave! 🙂 Happy reading!
I think he might be nicer to look at in human form. LOL
Did she nurse him first or seduce him first? Can’t imagine a wolf bite.
Can’t tell you! LOL
Anne Rice can do no wrong in my books! She’s an amazing writer … I never knew she had this series. What a terrifying cover!
I second that. My first love will always be Lestat. Her vamp books were awesome.
I have seen and planned to read many of her books but somehow never picked one before.. the 56 is perfect and makes me curious.. thank you for visiting me too
She has a lot of books and all of them were good reads for me:) I hope you get a chance to try one of them.
Believe it or not, but I haven’t read Anne Rice… but this sounds really good!
I was hooked by her vampire books. Then I moved on to witches and now to shifters.
