A large puddle spread out in front of us on the road. It looked like we could make it through, so I pushed harder on the gas pedal. Water splashed on all sides but then took control of the tires. The car swerved right toward the river.

The girls screamed as we rode the car like a water ride at an amusement park. My brain froze. I couldn’t think of what to do. The river took control of the car, spinning us around.
