This is my own version of a weekly book haul and all things new on fuonlyknew.

I’m also linking up with The Sunday Post hosted by Kimberly @Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

Some chit chat.

Isn’t it supposed to be fall? You wouldn’t know it where I’m at. The temps are still close to 90s and I’m loving it. The pecan trees are dropping their leaves and starting to look a bit bare but everything else is green and still growing. The pool is delicious at around 87 degrees and I try to get in and swim every day until it gets too cold.

I noticed Christmas decorations in several stores this week. I couldn’t resist picking up an ornament. LOL  This got me turning to my fall and Halloween decorations. I always buy some on sale after the holidays are over and can’t wait to see what I grabbed last year.

Also been reading a lot of scary books for my 31 Days Of Thrills And Chills feature this month. Sharing a review each day plus some extra ones will be thrown in for tours I’m participating in.

And I’m watching lots of scary movies and shows too. It surprises me I don’t have more nightmares.  How about you? Do scary books and movies haunt your dreams?

Have a fabulous  Sunday and brand new week!

Oh a pool temp of 87 sounds pretty dang good right about now. We had to tun the furnace on after it got into the 40’s last week at night. Enjoy your heat!! 🙂

Glad your 31 days of scary is going well. I just read Survive the Night which had a bit of horror…

    • fuonlyknew says:

It’s been sunny and warm all week and I sure am making the most of it. And it’s been fun sharing my scary reads with lots more to come.

  2. No, scary movies don’t give me nightmares, but scary books sometimes do. I guess I get more emotionally involved in a book.

The Beast of Black Pond looks like a good novella!

    • fuonlyknew says:

It’s the same for me with books more than movies. Probably because I’m reading in bed before I go to sleep. LOL The Beast Of Black Pond is fun. I just finished the first one, Big Bad Wolf, and it was fun too.

  3. kozbisa says:

I like that you can look on the bright side of this weather. I am over the heat. I am so not ready for Christmas, though I did buy one of my daughter’s gifts when we saw it in Magic Kingdom. It was an expensive Mulan purse, that I was going to order anyhow.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I don’t have a lot of presents to buy anymore. Mostly it’s gift cards but those impulse buys are always the best.

  4. Wow! 90’s! I’d been going to go up to Duluth to my birthday weekend to see the fall colors, but it was supposed to be 40 and raining – not good camping / fall colors weather. Glad you’re faring better.

    • fuonlyknew says:

My son and I plan to finally get back to some camping this year. Still a ways to go before it’s comfortable weather for it though.

  5. I really enjoyed Megalodon in Paradise-hope to be reviewing it sometime this month when I find time, and I enjoyed the first two books in the Renee George series. Hope to grab the third in time for the Puppy Love Challenge in February!

    • fuonlyknew says:

Have you read Devil’s Fingers yet. Crazy stuff! And I’m gathering dog books for Puppy Love too. Got some fun ones.

  6. Gayathri Lakshminarayanan says:

That is a lot of posts for a week. And why are the Christmas ornaments already out? 🙁 🙁 Halloween is not yet done people. I want more of fall, do not send it away so soon pl.

    • fuonlyknew says:

It’s a busy month here on the blog! I love it every year. I wasn’t surprised about the Christmas stuff. Happens every year. At least they need room to display it and put the fall and Halloween stuff on sale. LOL

  7. I’ve got to read more of Hunter Shea. I love what I have read and that cover makes me want to reach out and touch it. 🙂 I’ll have to remember to check at the library.

  8. Beware Of The Reader says:

Bwahahaha no you know I don’t do scary at all! 😉 Have fun with your horror fest Laura and sleep well.

  9. Oh my goodness, what great weather you’re having. It’s gone all autumble here, however, your weather must be on it’s way, warmer weather has been forecast here!! So keep sharing lol

I love your horror fest, it’s brilliant! Really enjoying what you’ve featured and adding new books to my TBR piles. Have a lovely week ahead! Take care x (And yes, sleep tight! lol)

I played the Sunday Meme today, too.

    • fuonlyknew says:

Every morning I walk outside and smile at how lovely it still is. We don’t have much of a fall here. I guess you could call winter our fall. Okay by me. LOL My horror eature is so fun and I’m still adding more books. Now I have more than 31 of them and will be fitting them in somewhere.

  10. I know other people hate it, but I LOVE Christmas decorations and don’t even care when they are in the stores before halloween!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I always have to grab one immediately. LOL Then I usually wait for the sales after it’s over. I’m excited to see what I bought last year when I do start sorting the decorations. My son’s birthday is near the end of November and I put the tree up for it.

  11. We saw christmas stuff in stores this weekend. Too soon. It has rained almost all week and been overcast and cold. Next week we hit the 70’s and 80’s. It is confusing and we all have head colds because of it. Enjoy the 90’s while you can. I would be heaven.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I guess I’ve gotten used to it as they put stuff out early for all of the holidays every year. We had sunny skies and warm temps but it looks like we’ll have higher chances of rain and low 80s next week. Still great weather!

  12. I am definitely not ready to think about Christmas, but I watch a lot of Hallmark movies, and they’ve been showing Christmas movies since July, I think.

Enjoy your week, and here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES

    • fuonlyknew says:

I watch the Hallmark Channel too and enjoy Christmas movies and books year round. I already am reading some holiday books so I can get reviews written.

  13. Jan says:

I looks like you’re having lots of fun with 31 Days of Thrills and Chills. I don’t like scary books or scary movies or scary TV shows! I hope you have a good week. Enjoy your pool.

  14. S. J. Pajonas (spajonas) says:

Maybe it’s just me, but I would totally love 90ºF right around now. 🙂 Enjoy that pool!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I try to never complain about the heat. Even though it can get in triple digits and sticky hot. I save the complaining for the cold. LOL

  15. Stormi D Johnson says:

Rub it in!!! 🙂 It’s going to be in the 60’s this coming week here with lots of rain and nights in the 40’s! I am not ready!!!!!

Enjoying your reviews this month! 🙂

    • fuonlyknew says:

Maybe you weather is why we are getting a bit of cooler temps this coming week and some higher chances of rain. Still in the 80s though so I’ll dip in the pool when I can.

  16. Liliana says:

I have also been watching horror movies nonstop! I’ve been trying to watch new stuff, but nothing has really stood out. And I’ve also been reading horror. Lol. Surprisingly, I don’t get nightmares, ever! And I am constantly watching horror movies, even when it’s not spooky season. Lol

    Happy reading!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I’m surprised about the horror movies. Usually we are flooded with new ones this month! I too watch and read horror year round:)

  17. Yvonne says:

Sounds like you are having nice weather. It’s in the 70’s here…we seem to alternate between clouds and sun. The stores to rush the holidays with their decorations. Hope you enjoy your books and have a good week.

  18. It’s been a crazy weekend so I’m sorry to be visiting so late. We’ve had some super warm weather too but by the end of the next week we will be more seasonable. I have to admit I’m a tad bit scared. I love the series by Renee George but still need to read the third. I don’t know what’s kept me so long. I think November is going to be filled with cozies and a few holiday reads so I will have to get to it then. And you have me curious with the In Dog We Trust – but are you really surprised?

    • fuonlyknew says:

I grabbed Pit for the Puppy Love challenge. We are doing it again next year aren’t we? In Dog We Trust had me worried about horrible death for dogs. Then I read the synopsis! I’m thinking it might be different. Not surprised at all. LOL

  19. A Renfro says:

No, scary movies and such rarely give me bad dreams. Though I can’t watch shows like Ghost Adventures at night. Somehow reality ghost shows just get to me. And it doesn’t feel like fall here even with Halloween decorations in our yard. Guess Winter is going to be crazy as well. Have a good one.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I enjoy the reality shows. Love to watch them scare themselves silly. I know I’d be a scaredy cat if I went in a haunted place. LOL

  20. Lynn says:

I can’t watch horror movies, but I do like Shirley Jackson’s horror stories. My favourite is We Have Always Lived in the Castle. We don’t really decorate our house for Halloween but I would love to get some ornaments as well.

    Have a wonderful week!

  21. I’m definitely not a fan of the scares, I’m a campy kiddy halloween type, lol. Good luck with the rest of your Thrills and Chills event!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I do have a few children’s Halloween books I’ll be sharing but the majority for this month will be adult horror. I eat the stuff up!

  22. Northwoman says:

Lots of great books. The weather has just been weird. It’s good if you can enjoy it that warm. It’s dropped to 65-70 here after the latest Hurricane Michael. Anne – Books of My Heart
