Genre: Romance / Suspense

Synopsis

Hot military heroes, the women who love them, and the dogs that always have their backs. EXTREME HONOR is the first book in a high adrenaline contemporary suspense series from Piper J. Drake.

HONOR, LOYALTY, LOVE

David Cruz is good at two things: war and training dogs. The ex-soldier’s toughest case is Atlas, a Belgian Malinois whose handler died in combat. Nobody at Hope’s Crossing Kennel can break through the animal’s grief. That is, until dog whisperer Evelyn Jones walks into the facility . . . and into Atlas’s heart. David hates to admit that the curvy blonde’s mesmerizing effect isn’t limited to canines. But when Lyn’s work with Atlas puts her in danger, David will do anything to protect her.

Lyn realizes that David’s own battle scars make him uniquely qualified for his job as a trainer. Tough as nails yet gentle when it counts, he’s gotten closer to Atlas than anyone else-and he’s willing to put his hard-wired suspicion aside to let her do the same. But someone desperate enough to kill doesn’t want Lyn working with Atlas. Now only teamwork, trust, and courage can save two troubled hearts and the dog who loves them both . . .

  1. I reviewed this one around the time I did the SoS about K9 stories. I liked it but didn’t love it. I haven’t gone on with the series. But Carole just reviewed a later one and thought it was great so I probably should move along when I have time. First books in a series can be tough, not usually in romance genres though. But if the author is newer they develop and improve hopefully.

  2. sounds great. i love books with dogs in them and that cover….well, they are both very handsome. 🙂

  3. Sophia Rose says:

I’m a sucker for service dog stories.

  4. Beware Of The Reader says:

Pfew I was afraid when it said “extreme horror” till I read the blurb and the genre 😉

  5. kozbisa says:

With the amount of romance I read, I really should have read some military hero books, but I have not. Former military, lots, but not active for some odd reason. Hope this is great when you get to it.

  6. Carole says:

I just read the fourth book in this series and enjoyed it. I would love to go back and read this one. I hope you enjoy it, Laura!

  7. Literary Feline says:

I’d be in it for the dogs. LOL Okay, and maybe the rest of it too. This does sound good. I hope you enjoy it when you read it. Have a great weekend!

  8. Cute dog! Hope you enjoy the series!
