When Sparks Fly

A Pinegrove FD Novel Book 1

by Libby Kay

Genre: Contemporary Small-Town Romance

.

Two broken hearts,
one charming small town, and a few sparks may be the recipe for love…

Whitney Kerr is at a crossroads—literally. After jumping
behind the wheel to flee Savannah, and a bad breakup, this Southern Belle is in
search of a fresh start. Stopping in a charming smalltown seems like the
perfect place to catch her breath and find herself. It’s too bad a certain
fireman with a crooked grin and kind eyes could have her plans of
self-discovery going up in a puff of smoke.

Trevor Mays is at a crossroads—figuratively. Still grieving
the loss of his father, he was unceremoniously dumped by his fiancée, who
quickly rebounded with his work rival. Just as he thinks things can’t get
worse, he loses the captain’s promotion—to the man who stole his ex. He’s about
to give up on ever smiling again when a curly-haired beauty with curves for
days stumbles into his hometown.

With some help from the residents of Pinegrove, this pair
will discover that much like the perfect fireworks show, love only needs a
spark.

Fans of Sherryl Woods’ Sweet Magnolias series
and Sarah Adams’s When in Rome series will fall in love with
Libby Kay’s sweet fireman romance. Ms. Kay’s engaging stories fill your heart
and head with possibilities and will quickly become your new favorite!

Whitney didn’t know how he did it, but he’d managed to put her at ease and make her feel seen in a matter of days. No man before Trevor Mays made her feel this worthy of love, worthy of attention. “I’m about to break one of my rules,” she said.

Trevor raised an eyebrow. “Oh yeah?”

“I’m going to kiss you before the end of the night.”

Trevor met her in the middle, lips warm and inviting. She kept hold of his face as she melted into the kiss. He steadied her with his hands on her hips, fingers softly digging into her skin. Normally, the feel of someone touching her abundant hips brought her discomfort, but she trusted this man. She trusted her body with Trevor, and that thought pushed her forward into the unknown.

Their kiss was sweet, two souls testing the waters with someone new, but Whitney needed more. She angled her head so he deepened the kiss, and she moaned as his tongue slipped between her lips. He tasted like cinnamon gum and sin.

Libby Kay lives in the city in the heart of the Midwest with
her husband. When she’s not writing, Libby loves reading romance novels of any
kind. Stories of people falling in love nourish her soul. Contemporary or
Regency, sweet or hot, as long as there is a happily ever after—she’s in love!

Insight

Insight Series Book 1

by Jamie Magee

Genre: YA Paranormal Romance

.

“Spellbinding
lyrically crafted fantasy series.” Sarah Dodd

“Magic,
action, and paranormal romance offer an escapism that will engross readers—the
story stays with you, unforgettable.” – M. Mass

Cursed with an empathic insight, Willow Haywood has lived her life as a proud
introvert in a small town. Her world shatters when a nightmare brands her wrist
with a star. The foreboding omen forces her family to unveil ancient secrets
that bend the boundaries of reality, dreams, and dimensions.

In the chaos of this revelation, Willow focuses on the good dreams she had
every night of her life. Her instinct promised her that the angel in them was
real, that he was her soul mate, and together they would be an unbeatable force
in the promised war of young gods.

The conflicted path to him was easier to face than the mystery, magic, and
danger haunting the shadows of the cosmic storms on the horizon. With or
without him… her nightmare would soon be her reality if she did not flee to the
dimension her soul once roamed.

Guided by love,
tormented by fear, and hunted by those who would twist her gifts for their
sinister ends, Willow’s journey is one of self-discovery, sacrifice, and the
relentless pull of destiny.

Insight is a spellbinding tale of love,
prophecy, and the courage to find your true self. Perfect for fans of young
adult fantasy and multidimensional adventures, it’s an unforgettable story that
will stay with you long after the last page.

Are you ready to step into the storm? The journey begins
here.

“We lost ourselves in the teen
angst of Fallen, and Hush, Hush. We found courage in the pages of Hunger Games
and Divergent. Our imagination was on fire inside of Mortal Instruments, Throne
of Glass, and The Red Queen. And now we have the compelling, enigmatic,
character-driven thrill ride of the long-reaching contemporary fantasy series
INSIGHT.” Colleen Riley

Writing Between the Lines of the Stars: How Astrology Shaped My Debut Novel—and My Life
By Jamie Magee

Hi, I’m Jamie Magee—author of the Insight series and host of the Scheduling Fate podcast. I’m so honored to share a piece of my story with you—and hopefully, spark something familiar in yours.

When I first started writing Insight, I didn’t set out to tell a story about astrology. I set out to chase a daydream that would not stop haunting me…

But as the characters took shape and the plot found its heartbeat, I realized something: astrology—something I’ve loved and studied my whole life—wasn’t just influencing my story—it was embedded in it, quietly guiding every turn.

That’s the thing about astrology. For me, it’s never been about predicting the future. It’s about understanding the present and seeing yourself more clearly, spotting the patterns that keep repeating, and asking why. Astrology helped me make sense of the people I love, the moments that cracked me open, and the paths I kept getting pulled toward—even when logic said otherwise.

In Insight, that idea takes on a life of its own. Willow Haywood, the main character, is an empath. She doesn’t just walk through the world—she absorbs it. Her dreams bleed across dimensions. She feels things before they happen, and fears that she’s too different ever truly to belong.

Early in the story, Willow asks:

“Why do I have to be so freaking different?”
That question wasn’t just hers. It was mine. And maybe, it’s yours too.

That’s where astrology becomes more than a fleeting interest for those who look a little deeper into their stars—it becomes a framework, a pathway to self-discovery. A language I used to explore the idea that we all arrive here with a cosmic blueprint. Not a rulebook, but a rhythm. One written in cosmic timing, energetic signatures, and soul-level lessons.

“Every first breath is full of unthinkable power and promise… but yours, Willow… there’s lifetimes of karma within your natal promise.”

When I was writing the Insight series, I didn’t build characters from the outside in—I started with fictional natal charts. I let the planets sketch out their strengths, their flaws, and their fated paths.

Each planet played a role:

☉ The Sun as their purpose.
☽ The Moon as their emotional truth.
☿ Mercury as their voice.
♀ Venus, what they loved.
♂ Mars, what they fought for.
♃ Jupiter as their wisdom.
♄ Saturn, their lessons.
♅ Uranus, their breakthroughs.
♆ Neptune, their dreams.
♇ Pluto, their transformation.

Every twist in the plot echoed a celestial rhythm. Astrology wasn’t the theme of the story—it was the pulse behind it.

And once I began writing, I couldn’t stop. The first draft of Insight came quickly. Within a year, I had three more books written and a growing realization: I wasn’t just telling a story. I was telling a collective story. And I needed a way to keep the conversation going—not just in fiction, but in real time.

That’s why I created my podcast, Scheduling Fate.

Unlike the novels, the podcast isn’t fantasy. It’s real-world astrology—delivered in plain language, rooted in current transits, and grounded in daily life. I break down the emotional waves, the energetic openings, and the timing cues you might be feeling but not fully understanding.

I started the show because I wanted to make astrology feel useful. Something that helps you stop fighting your nature—and start flowing with it. Because I believe that timing matters, knowing when to pause, pivot, or push forward can save us from burnout and self-doubt. That your chart doesn’t limit you—it liberates you.

Astrology helped me understand myself as a writer: someone who needs space, silence, and deep emotional honesty. And it helped me craft characters who wrestle with the same questions we all face—just with a bit more magic.

“The stars do not shape our lives; we choose our path to the fate we accepted long before we take our first breath.”

That line from Insight captures my belief: astrology is a mirror, not a map. A way to remember who you are—and who you came here to become.

So, if Insight is the soul’s story told through fiction, Scheduling Fate is the ongoing dialogue. A chance to check in with your energy, your timing, and the path you’re consciously (or unconsciously) choosing.

You don’t have to speak astrology to understand either one.

You just have to be curious.

You just have to have wondered—even once—Is there more to this moment than what I can see?

Because the answer, always, is yes.

If you’re ready to dive into a story filled with karmic twists, soul contracts, and unforgettable characters, I invite you to begin with Insight—the first book in the series, free to download at your ebook retailer.

And if you’re curious about your chart—your timing, relationships, and purpose—come join me at SchedulingFate.com. You can tune in wherever you get your podcasts, and explore more tools, insights, and cosmic downloads at my site. I’d love to walk this path with you.

Magee is not your average author—she’s also an astrologer and the host of Scheduling Fate, a podcast where insight

soul.

Her
passion for storytelling is matched by her love of astrology. Whether she’s

life’s turning points, Jamie helps her audience align with purpose, embrace
their own rhythm, and schedule fate
with intention.

Genre: Women’s Fiction

Synopsis

When Jacqueline follows her trusty Labrador Bailey down a hidden path to the beach, she’s unaware that her vacation plans on a small island off the New England coast has already taken her life in a new direction. Running into an unassuming local beach comber stirs new thoughts, desires, and a self-determination she never knew she possessed. Jacqueline will need to trust her instincts and make the most of what fate has in store if she wants the future that, until now, she has only dared to dream of.

~~~~~
Enjoy this peek inside:
With the sun barely over the horizon, Jacqueline awoke to Bailey licking her face and the best morning smell ever. Michael had the coffee pot simmering over the fire pit.
Jacqueline wasn’t ready to give up the warmth of her sleeping bag, so she managed to sit up while still inside it.
“Looks like you’re in a cocoon. Did you sleep well?” he asked.
“Surprisingly, yes. I was snug as a bug,” she said with a yawn.
“Well, one of the other reasons for camping out is to see the first rays of the sunrise, so let’s get you up so you don’t miss it.” He helped Jacqueline to her feet while she was still inside the sleeping bag. To remain steady, Michael had to hold her. She was all right with that.
I hope this sunrise viewing lasts a while.
Consumed by the beauty of the moment, Jacqueline felt a swelling from inside that took her nearly to the brink of tears as she looked out at the bright yellow rays that made the ocean glisten.
“We have a few clouds, which is a good thing,” he said. “It helps make the sunrise a bit more dramatic.”
“I bet you’ve seen lots of these,” Jacqueline replied while trying to compose herself.
“Yes, but I never get tired of it. It’s like seeing it for the first time every time,” he shared.
They both grew silent and took in the beauty of the early morning sky, and the warm connection of being so physically close to one another.
When two of Cat Groomer Molly Stewart’s pet parents are framed for murder, Molly will stop at nothing to keep her octogenarian friends out of jail. The fact that the body was discovered between Florence and Lottie’s houses doesn’t bode well for the ladies, or the fact that their Sphynx cats were way too interested in pawing at the body when it was discovered. Although Molly is ready to pounce on the real killer, will she be able to help them, or has the ladies’ continual gossip and spying on others finally landed them in hot water?
About Ruth J. Hartman
Ruth J. Hartman loves a good mystery. That’s probably why she happily gave up a life of cleaning other people’s teeth to write books. With several cozy mysteries under her belt, her main problem is keeping the characters straight – sometimes they have a tendency to hop on over to a different series, just for laughs
Over forty books later, consisting of romances, a children’s book, women’s fiction, and now cozy mysteries, Ruth still enjoys the thrill of taking the thoughts and images of her characters from her imagination to her computer screen.
She lives in rural Indiana with her husband, Garry, and their family of spoiled cats. Because of Ruth’s love for felines, every one of her books has at least one cat in it. Her cats, who’ve deemed themselves her editors, act like they’re supervising her writing, even though they’re often loafing off or napping.
A Terror Triptych: Ireland
by Kasey Fallon
Publication date: October 1st 2024
Genres: Adult, Horror
Readers can expect three chilling tales, each steeped in Irish folklore, history, and psychological horror. A Terror Triptych: Ireland is the second set of short horror by Kasey Fallon, with stories that delve into the darker side of the Emerald Isle. Each story is accompanied by original poetry and hand-drawn illustrations, enhancing the atmospheric tension of the collection.
Dark Legends Reimagined
Legacy, the first story, traces the cursed history of the Clairy family. The Clairys have fed centuries of blood into the Fair Farm of Clairy, and as an ancient Gaelic god demands more, their desperate choices lead to devastating consequences. As Fallon writes, “This is the bed the Clairys have wrought. Generations of blood.”
The collection continues with Dungeons Under Dublin, where guards at an ancient prison discover why they should have left the old wing untouched. Fallon’s use of Irish settings is not merely for atmosphere, but to invoke the weight of the country’s past, its myths, and its lingering shadows. Readers can expect historical accuracy intertwined with unnerving fiction, making the horrors all the more visceral.
Finally, in The Dead House, the picturesque Aran Islands become the stage for Clara’s unnerving attraction to the only house on the island left to rot in haunting silence. As one reviewer noted, “These stories are flat out, bone-chilling, creepy… The psychological touch was there, that’s what makes you shiver.”
Legacy
“Da, I think he’s just… hungry, maybe?” Finn said, hesitant. He spoke quietly as the wind and rain died down.
Tiernan sniffled and looked at Finn with red eyes.
“He said what now?”
“He was just talking about gifts, and how he didn’t want any moldy bread anymore,” Finn said. “And Lughnasadh, he said the deal was for offers on Lughnasadh.”
“Offerings,” Tiernan corrected absently. His eyes narrowed on Finn.
“Did he say what the offerings are, Finn?”
Finn thought hard. Had The Comm specifically said what the presents were? There was the talk of old people… a whisper drifted over his shoulder.
“Nothing that isn’t already mine, young Clairy. All of Ireland is mine.”
Finn looked up at his Da.
“He said nothing that isn’t already his.”
Walk the Line
by Natalie Parker, Paula Dombrowiak
(Blood & Bone Legacy, #1)
Publication date: April 22nd 2025
Genres: Contemporary, New Adult, Romance
It was supposed to be simple: Film the tour. Build my portfolio. And for Heavens sake, keep it in my pants.
Then I met Felix Krasinski.
The captivating and infuriatingly cocky frontman of Velvet Drift commands attention everywhere he goes—including mine. Am I proud of it? No. I’m supposed to be filming their perfromance, not fantasizing about his perfect abs. I’m determined to be taken seriously, and hooking up with the ridiculously hot rockstar is the fastest way to tank my credibility.
Felix is always in control, and I’m an impulsive rule-breaker. We don’t make sense. But we can’t seem to stay away from each other.
Because, between his uptight habits and annoyingly perfect jawline, there’s more to Felix than his stage presence and legendary last name. He’s protective, vulnerable, and gets me in a way no one else does.
But my career depends on keeping things professional, and his future hinges on staying laser-focused on his band’s success.
Every heated argument, every stolen kiss, makes me want to throw caution—and professionalism—to the wind.
One thing’s certain—this summer tour is about to get a lot more complicated than I bargained for.
Walk the Line is the first book in the Blood & Bone and Turn it Up second generation series crossover. Grab this new adult, angsty, forced proximity, steamy contemporary rockstar romance. Walk the Line can be read as a standalone.
“What the…?” My voice trails off as I take in the dark, angry bruise on my skin.
A hickey.
And not just any hickey—this is the mother of all hickeys.
It’s a masterpiece of malice, blooming in deep purples and reds, unapologetically high on my neck. No amount of foundation could hide this, and it’s far too conspicuous for even the highest collar. There was no fucking around when she decided to do this. She wanted me marked.
“Maggie!” I call, my voice bouncing off the walls as I step out of the bathroom. Her only response is the sound of sheets rustling and a half-asleep groan. I glance back at the mirror, rubbing at the bruise like it might magically fade. Who even gives hickeys anymore?
When I step out, I find her perched on the kitchen counter, one leg dangling lazily while the other’s tucked beneath her. She’s cradling a mug of coffee—my coffee—the steam curling up around her face. And she’s wearing my Henley, the fabric hanging loose on her but clinging just enough in places to make my brain short-circuit. The soft gray color makes her blue eyes pop, and they blink at me with an innocence that’s so utterly contrived, I almost laugh. Almost. And fuck, she made me temporarily forget about the hickey.
“What is this?” I demand, pointing to the bruise on my neck as I stride closer.
She tilts her head like she’s admiring a painting. She leans in, her lips so close I can feel the ghost of her breath. She presses a kiss to the bruise, and I swear my brain briefly loses all function.
“That,” she says, her voice honey-sweet, “is a hickey.”
“I know what it is, baby,” I snap, though the grin threatening to break free betrays me. “I have press with Ivy today.” My tone is exasperated, but she doesn’t look the least bit sorry.
“I know.” Her lips curve into a slow, self-satisfied smile, the kind that makes her look like a sexy as fuck brat. Lucky for her, I happen to like brats.
I grab her coffee mug, setting it down deliberately and grab her by the waist, pulling her flush against me. She lets out a surprised little gasp, her hands instinctively bracing against my chest.
“You fucking scare me sometimes, Sass,” I murmur before claiming her lips.
by Jane Hinchey
Genre: Paranormal Cozy Mystery
.
A dead teacher. A
scandalous secret. And a PI who’s way too caffeinated to quit.
Being a private investigator—and a ghost whisperer—means juggling the dead, the
murderous, and an espresso addiction I refuse to acknowledge.
When the ghost of schoolteacher Sandra Greaves crashes my morning coffee, she’s
not here for small talk—she needs me to find her killer. Problem is, her memory
is patchy at best, and the only thing she’s sure of? Someone wanted her
silenced.
The trail leads straight to shady school financials, questionable payouts, and
a scandal involving an angry parent and a morally bankrupt school board member.
Now I’m knee-deep in hush money, buried secrets, and motives worth killing for.
Meanwhile, my smokin’-hot husband is trying (and failing) to keep me out of
trouble, Thor, the talking cat, won’t shut up about his diet, and Bandit, my
cereal-stealing raccoon, is plotting her next snack heist.
But someone out there thinks I’m getting too close to the truth—and they’ll do
anything to keep it buried.
Join Audrey Fitzgerald in Ghost and Tell, a paranormal cozy mystery
featuring a talking cat, a mischievous raccoon, a ghost with unfinished
business, and a murder to solve!
Just Another Meet Cute
by Jenn P. Nguyen
Publication date: May 20th 2025
Genres: Comedy, Contemporary, Romance, Young Adult
Boy saves girl stuck on a disastrous hike. What could go wrong? So. Much.
Just Another Meet Cute is the joyful and funny story about what happens when you realize you’re dating the wrong twin.
When seventeen-year-old Nina Riley gets saved by a super cute Knight-in-Faded-Khakis just as she lands in an embarrassingly ‘ahem’ sticky situation during the most disastrous hike known to man, she wasn’t exactly looking for a meet cute. She really just needed some peace and quiet from her complicated family. Unfortunately, he disappears before she can properly thank him or get his number. All she has is his name (Ian Nguyen) and a navy jacket with a dog keychain, a gym card, and laundromat receipt. But a meet cute is a meet cute. And armed with years of watching Veronica Mars and a techy cousin, it should be simple enough for Nina to find the boy of her dreams, right? But when she finally tracks him down, he’s different than she thought ―right down to his name. Ryan is just as cute as she remembers, but the chemistry isn’t there like it was before. After a few dates, she meets Ryan’s family: his sweet grandma, his enthusiastic sisters, and his twin brother ――Ian.
Enjoy this peek inside:
“My name’s Ian, by the way.”
“Nina.”
He knelt down beside my bleeding leg and dug around in the box. “That’s a pretty name.”
“Thanks. It’s short for Nina.” After the words popped out of my mouth, I wanted to smack myself on the forehead for sounding so stupid.
Thankfully, Ian mistook my word vomit for humor or charm or something and laughed. He pulled a couple wet wipes from a pack and cleaned my leg and cut as best as he could before shoving them into a small plastic bag. Then he spread some white ointment on the cut and unwrapped a couple of Band-Aids. His fingers were long and moved quickly like this wasn’t his first time. After he put two Band-Aids on my cut, he pressed the edges down to make sure it was firm.
This time I felt the warmth of his fingertips on my skin, and the goose bumps that rose on my arms in response.
Rubbing my arms to make them go away before he noticed, I gently stood up. “I’m okay now. Thanks.”
“Are you sure? Your face still looks kind of red.”
Embarrassed, I adjusted the sunglasses until they fell lower on my face like a shield. “No, it’s just—the sun. It’s hot today.”
He glanced up at the overcast sky. It was so thick with clouds that you could barely see the sun anywhere.
“It was sunny earlier,” I said quickly. “Like scorching sunny.”
“Yeah, Texas’s weather is pretty unpredictable.” Still crouched down, Ian leaned to the left to pack everything up. When he was done though, he still didn’t immediately get up. Instead, Ian stared at something on the rock behind me. I followed his gaze and groaned out loud in horror. There was a dark butt-shaped smudge right where I had been sitting a few seconds ago.
With a puzzled expression, his eyes slid up and down my legs—which sounds way dirtier than it was. I almost wished it was dirty so at least I’d know he was thinking of me in a cute-girl-I’m-attracted-to way instead of a weirdo-girl-he-regretted-bumping-into way.
I knew the exact moment when my embarrassing situation clicked in his head. It was almost like his brown eyes cleared—as impossible as it was. My first instinct was to bury my face in my arms and flee, but my feet were frozen in one spot.
To my surprise, Ian didn’t immediately run away. Instead, he stood up, still digging in his bag. His head ducked down until I couldn’t see his face anymore. Especially as one hand messed with his hat, tugging it side to side. I could see that his ears were flaming red though. “Well, I think I have something else in here to help you with . . . that. If you—you need it.”
“What do you—” I glanced down at my legs and his pink face. Until my eyes finally landed on the tampon and pad he held out in his hand.
Oh. My. God.
