This is my own version of a weekly book haul and all things new on fuonlyknew.

I’m also linking up with The Sunday Post hosted by Kimberly @Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

Some chit chat.

We had a really cold snap come through. About froze at work. Now it’s 70s and muggy again and I just know spring is close. I started putting away most of my winter clothes and bringing out the summer stuff I’d put away. I usually keep most of it out as the weather usually isn’t cold for long here.  I noticed my banana trees are getting green stalks again and will share some pictures next week. The Sega’s are also sprouting new greenery and flowers are blooming.  My windows are covered in lizards and geckos at night, snatching up the insects drawn to the light. And I’m now watching for the first hint of green buds on my pecan trees. I know spring is here to stay when they appear. I plan to spend today sitting outside with a book, soaking up some sun and trying to get some color on my pale winter skin. LOL

Have a lovely Sunday everyone.

  1. So many tempting titles and covers! Thanks for sharing, and enjoy the week.

  2. Greg says:

It sounds like the telltale signs of spring in Florida are starting to appear, so I’ll take hope up here in the frozen north that’s it’s not far away. 🙂

Restaurant Weeks Are Murder- that cover is making me hungry. 🙂

  3. Sofia says:

Great haul – a lot of interesting looking novels 🙂 Happy reading!

  4. We got a small touch of snow last night but nothing major. It was certainly cold though and it just made me want to snuggle under the duvet this morning!

  5. We’re still in winter clothes and shoes xD boyfriend is sick for the third time (which is a little bit ridiculous. Third time!!)

    • fuonlyknew says:

Poor guy. I bet he longs for warmer days. I’ll miss my warm clothes but love it when I bring out my summer stuff. I usually have some with the tags still on them that I caught on sale before the winter.

  6. So many amazing books! I hope that you enjoy all of the new books that you have added to your collection this week. Enjoy your outdoor reading as well. I am super jealous of you! 🙂

    • fuonlyknew says:

I’ve had so many books come in the last few weeks. Now to find time to read them. No telly for me for a while. LOL

  7. Yes, for us it is always the blooming of the pecan trees that lets us know spring is really here. That is never until April, though.

I’ve created a linky on my blog for the Sunday Salon and I’ve kept the Facebook group. I hope you will join in and spread the word.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I like to check every day before going to work. I have a pecan tree right in front and have to pass it to get to my car. I’ll be sharing my photos as they start to bloom.

  8. Julie says:

I guess everyone is waiting for spring to spend some time with the book outside))

  9. sjhigbee says:

Glad you are able to sit outside – right now that’s a distant dream, though we have had some incredibly mild weather this winter. Right now, though, the wind is blowing a hoolie and it’s cold. Have a great week, Laura!

    • fuonlyknew says:

It was so nice. Even got a bit of a sunburn! I keep hearing about the wind this week. Winter is fighting to stick around isn’t it.

  10. Beware Of The Reader says:

Well Laura lizards and gecko should be handy to eat mosquitoes! Let’s hope you are not putting away your winter clotehs for nothing! Happy Sunday.

    • fuonlyknew says:

And roaches, and spiders and…………….. And they are so cure too. The geckos and lizards I mean. LOL I don’t have that many winter clothes so I just move them to the guest room closet. Easy to find if I need them:)

  11. kozbisa says:

Our weather is all over the place. I just accept it and wear lots of layers. Last Sunday was snow, and this Sunday it’s pouring and going to be in the 50s! I am all about the warmer temps.

  12. So jealous of all your plants. I wish I had a place to grow them by me. I saw a Robin yesterday and that is usually a sign around here that spring is coming. At least it better be because I can’t deal with this weather any more.

A nice relaxing day reading sounds so nice. I did a lot of just relaxing this weekend, it wasn’t easy but slept late and took a nap. It was really needed 🙂

Have a great week, Laura! Happy Reading! xx

    • fuonlyknew says:

We have some really fat robins. And tons of small birds in the trees. They make so much noise and leaves fall all over the place from the trees. I love it! LOL

  13. I’ve started to see some bulbs come up here, which is a good sign. I’m hoping that spring is coming. I’m ready, but not looking forward to mud. The ground is mostly frozen right now, but we have a week above freezing and my place will be a mud pit. I grabbed a couple of those freebies. Thanks. Have a great week.

    • fuonlyknew says:

We have red clay here and after it rains, my car is orange and it stains your clothes. I never wear white shoes after a rain!

  14. Tammy says:

I just love seeing new buds on the trees! California has had a particularly cold winter, so I’m really looking forward to warmer weather😁

  15. We got a taste of warm and then it was cold all week. I was not happy but am hoping this week will be better. How exciting to see everything starting to bloom! We aren’t there yet but I am starting to think about my garden. Have a great week.

  16. It’s warmer here today so like you, I feel Spring is right around the corner. Plus there is the whole time change thing which heralds it as well. I am not quite ready to give up on the winter clothes yet though. I have two shoe types – boots and sandals so I need for it to warm up quite a bit,

    • fuonlyknew says:

I’ll miss my fuzzy socks and boots but sure am loving my flip flops and sandals. I have more than I can ever need. LOL

  17. Enjoy the warm weather! Its not bitter cold here anymore, but we are still only in the 50’s for highs and 20’s for lows.

  18. Gayathri Lakshminarayanan says:

Wow is it still cold? Here the winter is fleeting and the spring is almost arrived. I am not sure if I am ready for that yet. Have a great week ahead.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I’m so ready for spring. Got a little sunburn while reading outside today and did some much needed tidying up in the yard. Now is the water would heat up enough to get in the pool!

  19. It wasn’t as cold as the week before this past week, but it was colder than normal. This week looks to be normalish 60s. It might even get to 70 today. I’m looking forward to the more springlike weather as it makes it easier to get going on everything. Also, the DST with it being light later means it will be more like grilling weather for dinner.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I know. The time change means more daylight. I love refusing to go to bed before it’s pitch dark out. LOL And I just got a new grill. My bosses gave it to me and soon I’ll be breaking it in!

  20. I am jealous of the weather you are having. Just two days ago it snowed… again 🙄 and even though the sun is currently out (surprise), it’s still 30 degrees out 😣

  21. I used to love catching lizards when I would visit my grandma in Florida every year when I was a kid. Brings back great memories!

  22. Glad that your garden is doing well!

    Here’s my Sunday Post!

  23. The weather here in England is all over the place at the moment. It was like summer for a couple of days last week and then a few days later we had snow! Today is really cold and I want to hibernate. It looks like you have some great books lined up – I love the cover of This Much Country! Happy reading 🙂

  24. asreadbytina says:

Great haul this week! I tend to keep at least a couple pair of shorts out all year just because Texas’ weather is so unpredictable. I definitely need to start taking out the Spring clothes for the kiddos because the weather is getting warmer.

I hope you have a wonderful week!

  25. Yvonne says:

I love all of your books and I have quite a few of them on my list too. I hope you enjoy them and have a great week!

  26. Rachel @Waves of Fiction says:

I hate bugs so I’d appreciate those lizards and geckos thinning them out. I got a copy of Katie Ruggle’s book, too. Love her stories. It’s been raining like crazy here in Southern California, but we’re getting some warmer sunny weather this next week. Not quite to the point of putting my winter clothes away, though. Enjoy your books! 🙂

    • fuonlyknew says:

They are especially great with spiders as most sprays don’t really work with them. LOL I’m just so happy that spring is coming. The hot and cold spells are torture. LOL

  27. Ow Spring.. Yes!! I can’t wait!! It’s been very rainy and windy here. I really need some sun! Your new books look great!
Have a great week and happy reading!

  28. S. J. Pajonas (spajonas) says:

Jealous of your weather! Though I see on the long range forecast that things are making a turn toward spring around here. I’ll be happy when all the snow is gone. 🙂

  29. Stormi D Johnson says:

I hope spring is on the way!!! I am so tired of cold, getting wood in every day, cold….lol. Send some of your weather my way please. 🙂

    Have a great week!
    Stormi

  30. Ashlea Daune says:

Spring sounds beautiful there, it just gets hot here. It’s already been 80 degrees a few times last week. Yay.

    Ash @ JennRenee Read

  31. StackingMy BookShelves says:

Strange Tales of Scotland has caught my eye. I will have to check that one out. Lots of great books. I can’t wait for warm weather. It is supposed to be 60 on Friday and I can’t wait!
    Mary

  32. I got the audio for Turning the Tide. Glad you warmed back up. We have had crazy weather which is causing migraines. I need my flip-flops.

    • fuonlyknew says:

Turning The Tide looked so good and I’m excited to read it. I hope you enjoy the audible. I have my flip flops out and ready to go!
