This week was spring break here on the coast and I had the week off of work. It was glorious and went by too fast. I want a ground hog day where I go back and do the same week over, and over, and…..LOL

I didn’t do much of anything. Read some books.Watched some movies and shows. Stayed up late and actually slept in past 7! At least I’m well rested.

Sorry I didn’t visit a lot. Tried to stay away from the computer, though I did sneak in some time each day. I couldn’t help it. The dang thing was sitting there. Waiting for me to touch it.

Did you notice? It’s my 200th Sunday post!

I have had such fun with this meme and can’t thank Kimberly enough for hosting it. I’ve met so many amazing fellow book lover’s and discovered many wonderful authors and books. It’s been a wonderful experience and I plan to keep on going.

And I got my new computer. I decided to let my computer guru dispose of my old one, but I did hang on to the hard drive, just in case. It’s taking me a bit to get the hang of this new computer. The keys are configured a bit differently and I find myself hitting the next key to the right all the time. I fixed that by moving my computer over a little bit, and doing better now. LOL It’s a Dell Inspiron and has all kinds of bells and whistles I’ll be checking out.

Not much happened this week. Same old, same old.

The weather is warm and I’ve been working on my yard, cleaning and pruning and getting ready for new planting. I’ve done away with a lot of my flower beds and like the clean look. Now to plant some shrubs and saplings and fill the flower boxes with lovely colors. Hurry up spring! I’ve got the fever and my green thumb is antsy. LOL

As for the pool. Well, it’s a mess but won’t take long to get it clean and inviting. It’s just too darn cold yet and those darn leaves are just out of reach without having to get in there.

But I sure did read a bunch of books. And I’m well into listening to the rest of the John Cleaver series by Dan Wells. What a trip those are.

It’s the second week of February here on the Gulf Coast, and you know what that means?

It’s Mardi Gras time!

Friday night saw the first of many parades, starting off with the Conde Cavaliers. People flock in droves to catch beads, toys, and Moon Pies.

Many people believe this celebration originated in New Orleans when in fact, history shows the first celebration was established in 1703 by French settlers in Mobile, Alabama. And we do it up big here.

I’ve been to many parades but not so often now that I’m older. It can be tiring and people go crazy for the trinkets.  I do hope to go to at least one. I’ll brave the crowds, the need for a non- existent bathroom, and the people willing to break my arm to snatch that shiny strand of beads I’ve managed to latch on to right out of my hands. LOL
