This is my weekly book haul and all things new on fuonlyknew.

Another fun way to share your book news and enjoy others is The Sunday Post

hosted by Kimba The Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

I finished my Halloween decorating. Didn’t use everything for outdoors. I mostly just did some decorating of the front porch. I don’t get any trick-or-treaters this far out from town but you can see my stuff from the road.

The weathers back up in the high 80s so I’ve been doing some reading by the pool and taking a few dips now and then. I dread when it gets too cold to swim. Last year our winter was harsh. We had freezing rain that closed down everything for a couple of days. My plants were covered in sheets of ice, lost a bunch of them. And I had to chip my way into my car. It was completely encased in ice. I sure hope it isn’t that bad this year.

I’ve been watching Survivor. This year is a strange one. I don’t like any of the players and can’t seem to get into it. Anybody watching it?

And I’ve been feasting on a bunch of horror flicks. Caught a couple on Syfy and Chiller and then some on Netflix. I also pulled out some treasured DVDs.

And it’s official. I was in Walmart and they were putting out the Christmas stuff. We don’t even have winter clothes on the racks yet, but you can get all kinds of pretty Christmas baubles. I don’t buy much anymore. Have so much already. But I do wait until the after sales and buy a few things. It’s fun to get out my decorations and discover those little jewels I forgot I bought!

Now let’s get to my book haul and news!

  1. Definitely many books from which to choose! Porcelain looks pretty creepy…LOL.

Thanks for sharing…and enjoy! And thanks for visiting my blog.

  2. We had a hard freeze in our area last year too. I have a sad feeling the freeze might have killed our lemon tree 🙁

I don’t really watch television, but today is the day Laura! The walkers are back! Speaking of walkers, I’m going to try and find that perky zombie children’s book you’ve shared 🙂

The Nero book snagged my attention too, not too long ago, I did an extensive study on the guy *shudders* ew! It was chilling. I’ll be checking that one out too. Great post! 🙂

  3. Yeah you have some creepy books coming up..I am looking forward to those. Your talk of the ice and snow made me shiver. I like Fall, but can we just skip winter.

  4. readerbuzz says:

    C’mon, W-Mart, Christmas already?! Please!

  5. Greg says:

Nice post this week, and you definitely have the scary reads covered I think! Lots of good choices there. I liked that mutant dog video you had on your Thursday post too, i saw that somewhere else too and it’s hilarious… have a great scary week!

  6. Freezing rain sounds awful! I’m not sure I’d get up the courage to leave my house if I saw everything covered in ice. I never watched Survivor but I’ve heard friends who watch it complaining about it this year. I’m definitely not ready for Christmas stuff to start appearing! Have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

We weren’t allowed to go on the roads for 2 days. In the south, they don’t have salt so they used red clay on the hills and curves. I was just glad I was home. My brother got stuck at work across the bay.

  7. I also have The Memory Closet. I haven’t started it yet, but I’ll be interested to hear your thoughts!

  8. Elsi says:

OMG — you’ve decorated. I usually think about it no more than two days before the holiday! Quite a list of books — enjoy reading.

  9. Berls says:

Wow, quite the haul! The cover of Porcelain is totally freaking me out – I don’t do scary well!

It seems like Christmas arrives at the stores earlier every year – its not even Halloween yet! But that’s okay, I guess, since I love Christmas.

    Have a great week 🙂

  10. Berls says:

I think my comment disappeared – trying again, sorry if I’m spamming you!

Wow, great haul! The cover of Porcelain is so freaking me out though – I so don’t do scary well!

I feel like Christmas starts showing up earlier and earlier every year. Guess its a good thing I love it!! 🙂 Have a great week!

  11. Christmas decorations have gone up in the department stores here as well. It just feels too early in October, but I guess they must sell or they wouldn’t do it. Anyway, I hope you have a great week and enjoy your new books.

  12. Yvonne says:

A League of Her Own looks like a book I’d like. Enjoy all your books.

I still watch Survivor and I’m loving it. I don’t have any favorites this season, yet, but it’s early.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I couldn’t resist A League Of Her Own. Just sounded sweet and now and then I need a break from my horror. LOL
I’m still watching Survivor. Maybe it will get better.

  13. Nyze says:

I’ve not decorated yet for Halloween cause I’m excited for Christmas. Haha!

    Here’s mine:
My Week in a Wrapped #3

    • fuonlyknew says:

Once Halloween is over and the cooler weather settles in, I’ll start getting excited about Christmas. My favorite thing is decorating. I do it different every year.

  14. Jessica says:

The book about WWII horses looks really good. I like nonfiction a lot. Sometimes it’s a nice change of pace. Thanks for stopping by Tales Between the Pages. 🙂

    • fuonlyknew says:

I watched a movie about cavalry horses years ago. It was interesting to learn what happened to them and tragic also. I’ve been to see the Lippizaners several times and enjoy the history with Patton and their rescue. Looking forward to this book:)

  15. pagesandtea says:

Christmas things in the shops already, that sounds just like here – they had the Christmas wrapping paper in the shops last time I went to town. It’s a bit early for me, like wishing time away when it goes fast enough as it is 🙂

You have so many good books! The Memory Closet looks really good.

  16. melissamyworldinwordsandpages says:

Ooooo, so many awesome looking books. I’m going to have to look into a few of them. 🙂 I need to pull out a few of the old horror flicks I have, to watch for Halloween. 🙂

Oh wow. Christmas stuff already… *groan* I enjoy the season but I hate the commercialization for money that is done anymore.

Have a great week! And thank you for stopping by my Sunday Post. 🙂

  17. I picked up budget body movers. Sounds like a fun read. Thanks for sharing all the goodies!
    sherry @ Sherry’s Shelves

  18. Nice assortment of books, Sherry. The Memory Closet and I Have People both caught my eye.

Thanks for visiting my blog and for your good wishes — I’m hoping for a milder winter for us all.

  19. Taylor Dean says:

Hi Laura! Thanks so much for featuring I Have People.
I’ve been watching Survivor. I don’t have anyone I’m rooting for as of yet either. Hopefully someone will emerge as being likable–or the villain we love to cheer for!!

  20. Emma says:

What horror flicks have you seen lately? I’m always looking for recommendations.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I really liked The Conjuring and rewatched Slither. Then I went on an After Dark Horrorfest and watched From Within and Perkins’ 14. Also watched Big Bad Wolf, Dire Wolves, Monsters in the Woods and Another Kind. Also watched a campy horror called Dogman and then some Sasquatch movies. And I found a really twisted one, quite good, called Salvage. It was gory but had such a unique story and the ending blew me away. I could go one…..LOL

  21. Celine Frohn says:

Wow, how strange to be able to swim and have the Halloween decorations up at the same time! Here fall is already very much in swing, all of the trees are losing their leaves.

Looks like you got a great week coming up

  22. I recently went back to the dark side and picked up a Non-fiction book to read, too! It’s been so long but I actually found one I was interested in so I hope I can put down the romances long enough to read some history (hahahahaha! This might take a while!). Your horses in WWII book a wee bit more interesting than an ill-fated trip in the North Seas 😉

    Have a great week!!

  23. I noticed that Walmart had their Christmas decorations out today. As much as I love Christmas, my first thought was “Really?! It’s not even Halloween yet!” Lol. Great book haul this week. The cover alone for The Memory Closet has me intrigued. Have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I just wish they didn’t almost pass over Halloween and Thanksgiving.
I’m about two thirds through The Memory Closet. I’m getting a lot more than I expected, in a good way!

  24. I really enjoyed Nero’s Fiddle! I can’t wait for book four! I’m going to try and put my Halloween decorations sometime soon hopefully. I just hate putting stuff out because it rains so much during the fall. I hope you’re having a lovely week!

  25. You grabbed a ton of books!!! Yay for A League of Her Own. I’ve got that one too and am excited to read it! It was nice to see a friendly face win something from Prism too. 🙂 Hope your week was great!

  26. Naomi @ Nomi’s Paranormal Palace says:

Things are warming up down here in Aus… I am looking forward to wearing shorts and shirts again.
Looks like you picked up a lot of fab books, hope you are enjoying them.

Thanx for visiting My Weekly Wrap-Up!
