This is my own version of a weekly book haul and all things new on fuonlyknew.

I’m also linking up with The Sunday Post hosted by Kimberly @Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

Sunday Post

Some chit chat.

The gremlins are back. Sheesh! Don’t I ever get a break. LOL

It seems Jetpack is screwed up on my blog. I keep getting an error message about https, and Akismet is now saying it is disabled and they want me to pay for it. Anybody else with these problems? If you know what it all means, please give me a shout.

On to other things. Been watching a lot of shows. Caught up on The Walking Dead, and just finished Once Upon A Time up to the latest episode. I’ve tried some new ones but nothing grabbing me yet.

And been reading, a lot! LOl What’s new there, right? I’m slowing down on review posts and doing some tour posts to make up for those quiet days. I know I won’t be around as much over the holidays and don’t want some good books to be missed.

So, what have you been up to?

Sorry to hear about the blog problems! Hopefully that all gets sorted without too much fuss. It’s always something. :( I’m caught up on Walking Dead now too, and working on Fear the Walking Dead. Do you watch that ?

You’ve got some spooky looking reads mixed in with the holiday stuff looks like. Hope you have a great weekend!

    • fuonlyknew says:

Some of it has sorted itself out. I’m working with wordpress to resolve the other stuff. Yep, I watch Fear too. I wonder if they’ll ever tie the two shows together in some way.

  2. Sorry about the internet problems. I know what that’s like to have your computer shut down all of a sudden. Glad you were able to get some reading done though!

    Here’s my Sunday Post!

Ronyell @ Rabbit Ears Book Blog and join in this week’s Book Photo Sundays!

    • fuonlyknew says:

It’s always something. I often just shut down and wait til morning and the issues are gone. LOL

  3. I’m afraid I know nothing about computers-I’ve no idea what Jetpack is so I can’t offer any help, sorry! I had a ton of computer problems in the first part of the year so you have my sympathy and I hope you can find a solution. I’m wondering how much to post on the blog over Christmas in case my blog followers are taking time off…but I’m on every day anyway so I want to do something!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I can do without Jetpack. It’s just that they have some good plugins and stuff. I’ll get it sorted out eventually. I’m going to keep posting through the holidays. Lots of us don’t travel so it’s fun to see what everyone is doing. Just not posting a lot of discussion posts or reviews until later.

  4. Oh no, those nasty gremlins! Hope you can get things fixed. I am hoping to get a lot of blogging ahead during the holidays, so I think I am the exact opposite of you…hehehe.

    Happy reading!
    Week in Review

    • fuonlyknew says:

I’m hunting gremlins! LOL I have quite a bit blogged ahead and am now using a journal along with my calendar to get more organized. As if…LOL

  5. Jetpack has always been an issue for me. I hate it! But, I haven’t had issues with akismet so that is strange. Maybe check with WP.com and see if they have any suggestions? I have a .org WP so maybe thats why I haven’t had issues? who knows! Hope you get it all figured out!

    • fuonlyknew says:

As my sister and I are fond of saying, and have to say too much, I know just enough to get in trouble. LOL

  6. feeroberts64 says:

I bought When the Tiger Kills. It’s on my TBR list, but I’m not sure when I’ll get to it!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I stared going through my Kindle and trying to organize books there and on Goodreads. What a time consuming mess. LOL Gave up on that and just going to start working through the books. It’s a goal for next year:)

  7. Mandy Sickle says:

Sounds like you’ve had a great week. I need some of your reading up a storm to rub off on me. I’ve been in a slump. Looks like you’ve had a great week! I hope you enjoy all your new books. Have a wonderful week and happy reading! My Sunday Post

    • fuonlyknew says:

Thanks Mandy. I had a stack of print books by my side and three Kindles. No lack of reading material. LOL It got darn nippy outside and I snuggled in to do what I love best, read and watch the telly.

  8. I really need to finally catch up with Once Upon a Time! I’m somewhere in the middle of Merida’s episodes… Enjoy your new books! The Killing Moon looks really interesting!

    Here’s my Weekly Recap!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I’m all caught up, dang it. Now I have to wait each week for a new episode. LOL Netflix has me so spoiled. I just got The Killing Moon. Sounded interesting and a bit different for me:)

  9. My Jetpack and Akismet is working fine. They have updates for those all the time, did you update yours? Other than that I have no clue.

I actually got to read a book from my TBR pile! Yay! But it’s back to the grindstone for me; I have some ARCs for next month to complete. hehe. ~Aleen

    • fuonlyknew says:

Akismet is still asking me to sign up and pay. I’ll wait to see what happens with the next update. No one I contacted knows what to do either. LOL
I’ve been averaging 2 to 3 books a week from my TBR. Now to review them.

  10. Yup, I got the same error this week, fixed itself within seconds but it was scary and then there was an update available so I guess it was a due to that? Idk about akismet though, haven’t had any issues yet.

  11. I’ve got NO CLUE what is up with Akismet and https! Do you specifically want the https vs. http? I thought you had to pay a premium at your host for that but I’m not sure b/c I don’t sell on my site so I really didn’t care much about it.

Jetpack updated before WordPress, maybe that’s why I didn’t have a problem? I run minimal things on Jetpack, though. Everyone is always going on about what a resource hog it is so I waffle and try to be good with my plugins. Eh.

Sorry I couldn’t help you more!!!! Hang in there and Merry Christmas!!!!

    • fuonlyknew says:

Thanks for trying to help. Most of the problems are gone and I think the rest of it is trying to get me to buy something I don’t need. I have spam protection, so Akismet was just extra protection. I guess they want money for it now. What’s new there. LOL

  12. sjhigbee says:

Oh what a shame about the shenanigans you’re currently enduring blogwise and I very much hope it gets sorted out asap. Miserable when that happens:(. I know what you mean about easing up at this time of the year… I’m suddenly insanely busy and I simply don’t think I’ll be in a position to keep blogging on a daily basis over the holiday season. I hope this coming week is lot more hassle-free, Laura – and many thanks for all your kind support of my reviews – I really appreciate it:). My Sunday Post – https://sjhigbee.wordpress.com/2016/12/11/sunday-post-11th-december-2016/

    • fuonlyknew says:

I always enjoy your posts, Sarah. I really like the Friday cover meme! I expect things to get more hectic and off schedule whether blogging or just in general. LOL

  13. I haven’t moved to self-hosted, and reasons like what you’re experiencing terrify me to make that move because I know nothing about any of it. I hope you are able to come to a resolution.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I tok a while to do it. I like the freedom of posting whatever I want, but still have to learn a lot. LOL

  14. Oh no, blog problems are very annoying! I’m lucky my co-blogger knows what she’s doing or I’d be a mess. Hope everything gets figured out soon!
I love all the holiday books you picked up! Happy reading (:

  15. I’ve read several of Amanda Lee’s cozy mysteries, so Better Off Thread piques my interest.

Enjoy your week, and thanks for visiting my blog.

  16. The Christmas kitty is fabulous! I couldn’t comment last week because the posting wheel just kept turning snd turning and never uploaded the comment. I tried three times and gave up. I have my fingers crossed that I have success this week. I still have to watch last season of The Walking Dead. Ha ha. I was spoiled on Twitter for the “bat death”. Ugh. I hope you are feeling the holiday cheer! Have a wonderful week. :)

    • fuonlyknew says:

LOL I’m sure many of us with kitties have seen the real thing. Sorry about the comment problem. My site was probably down. It’s always something on the web.

  17. yvonne473 says:

Oh all those books look good. A couple of the freebies on your list I didn’t have, but I have them now so thank you :) Hope you have a great week!

  18. The cover for Tweedeldum and Tweedeldee is really creepy!! Is it a horror story?
I hope you’ll get your jetpack and akismet sorted out! I hate it when things don’t work like they’re supposed to – and there’s a reason why I use jetpack and akismet – I have no idea how to secure things myself, right?
Have a wonderful week and happy reading :)

    • fuonlyknew says:

Kind of. Willow writes some spooky ones. I enjoy some things about Jetpack but don’t know much myself. LOL

  19. In this digital age it is always something, whether it’s the computer, a camera…I too have slowed down some. Glad I blogged ahead or I would be completely lost. :-)

    • fuonlyknew says:

Yep, the Pandora Box of gremlins was opened! LOL Seems everything is working fine now. I’m sharing lots of tour posts still. So many good giveaways and free books to share!

  20. Oh no! I hope Jetpack resolves the issues soon! I hope you enjoy all of your new additions! Have a good week :)

  21. Heidi says:

Hope your blog problem gets fixed soon. That is always a worry. Have you tried Creepy Christmas yet. I have had it on my Kindle for three or four years now.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I think it’s all fixed now. LOL I read and reviewed Creepy Christmas. I’ve had it since 2012. Figured it was about dang time. LOL It was a fun one.

  22. Darlene says:

I love the Christmas Kitty!! Better Off Thread sounds like a fun holiday cozy. I miss The Walking Dead! I only have basic cable, so I have to wait for the new season to get on Netflix so I’m always a season behind. Love that show! My younger daughter & I enjoy watching Once Upon A Time. Have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

The kitty is so cute. And I’m sure our furbabies have done it. LOL Better Off Thread is from a favorite cozy series. I always enjoy returning there. The Walking Dead is so ugly this year. But the last episode gave me hope.

  23. I hope your blog problem is resolved, and thank you for all the freebie links! I can see myself getting a bunch. I hope you have a lovely week and thanks for stopping by my Sunday post earlier this week.

  24. Melissa (My World...in words and pages) says:

I’ve gotten caught up in both those tv series too. I have one episode of Quantico to watch too. Looks like some great new books too. Have a great week!

  25. Sorry to hear about the blog troubles, hopefully you’ve gotten it all fixed. And I hear you about blogging and reviewing slowing down lately. I’ve got things I want to write and just don’t have the time to write any of it down with being busy. I’ve got a copy of that NK Jemisin book too, I just need to get around to reading it. I loved another book by her, though, so I’m pretty certain I’ll like it. And That is a whole lot of freebies. I’ll try and restrain myself investigating them all, I have too many unread books on my Kindle already.
