Some chit chat.

So, are you ready for Shark Week? Chummed the waters for those steely eyed beauties.? I’ve been watching a bunch of movies. Let’s se…I watched Deep Blue Sea, all of the Sharknade movies, Open Water, The Shallows, The Reef, all of the Jaws movies, several mutant shark B-movies and 47 Meters Down. I’m sure I forgot some here too. Do you have a favorite shark movie? How about a book? I’m always looking for more.

Remember Snuffy the seal?

And his return?

LOL I couldn’t resist!

Other than that, been doing a bit of reading and just chillin. It’s been so hot and I’ve just felt wrung out. I’m thinking it’s time for another staycation! LOL

Have a fabulous  Sunday and brand new week!

  1. Angelica Joy says:

I think its hard pressed to beat the original shark movie that is Jaws. What’s your favourite?

    Angelica @ Paperback Princess

  2. Greg says:

Snuffy’s back! Yay. 🙂 I did watch 47 Metres Down a while back, and I thought The Shallows was pretty good. I haven’t seen most of the others though, although I have caught some of the Sharknado action- you know, bits and pieces (ha ha) of some of them. I should do a Sharknado binge. And I need MEG at this juncture.

    Ooh hope you like Obsidio.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I can’t wait for Meg. I’ve been following his newsletter and waiting years for it. And I’m reading Obsidio now. Really curious how the series will end.

  3. I watched all the reruns of When Sharksttack as I’m more interested in that side of thing than watching divers feed them and tag them and stuff. My favourite shark films are Jaws and Deep Blue Sea and I’ve watched them countless times! I had hoped to do my own Shark Week but that didn’t happen but maybe Shark September where I can watch lots of shark films!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I loved that parrot in Deep Blue Sea. LOL I like Shark Week because there are all kinds of new shows included. I especially like the ones about shark attacks. Last year was kind of boring. Hoping this year they have some good stuff. I’m surprised there haven’t been many shark attacks reported here this year. We are actually having a shark fishing season here. Too many of them by the piers and people can’t get there fish reeled in before a bunch of sharks steal them off their lines. Just a short distance away are the public beaches.

  4. I love a good shark movie. I loved Deep Blue Sea.Enjoy your new books have a great week.

    Megan @reading away the days

  5. Jenea says:

I love Shark Wek, I forgot all about it too! Ugh.. I hope you have a great week. 🙂

  6. sjhigbee says:

I have never seen Snuffy the Seal before… my howls of laughter brought my granddaughter down from upstairs so I also had the pleasure of sharing the trailors with the family. And they say the yanks don’t get irony! Hilarious – thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed Shark Week. My very favourite Shark movie, Avalanche Sharks! I laughed so much, I cried and my ribs ached… Have a great week, Laura!

    • fuonlyknew says:

LOL Glad you enjoyed Snuffy. I keep watching these and they still make me laugh. Avalanche Sharks was fun. I love those B-movies!

  7. Shark movies are the best! I haven’t watched any lately though but I am itching to read Meg book two but nobody has it, not overdrive or hoopla or even my actual library and I am so sad. 🙁 Oh well, I shall get it some day.

So can’t wait for the MEG movie to come out!

    Have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I own all of the Meg books. Picked them up for sale at the library book store and used book stores, plus some from Amazon. I hope the movie is good and that they make more. There’s more than just sharks in the waters down below. LOL

  8. Haha that’s a lot of shark movies! Sharks aren’t really my thing– they are interesting and beautiful creatures though.

  9. Beware Of The Reader says:

Hahaha so you are falling for Obsidio too? This is one so hyped that I need to read …sometimes. I hope the heat will be more bearable next week. Happy Sunday!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I really enjoyed Illuminae and Gemina and Obsidio starts out fun from the gate:) We in the triple digits now but supposed to be lower 90s with some afternoon rains next week.

  10. Enjoy your books and your scary movies. I’ll be seeing something lightweight (Mama Mia, lol).

Thanks for sharing, and here are
    MY WEEKLY UPDATES

  11. Shark week!! Awesome!

  12. Now that I’m thinking about it, I think Jaws and Deep Blue Sea are the only shark movies I’ve seen. There is that one where the two people are stranded in the water, but that’s more about the human characters than the shark. I don’t remember the name of that one. 🌊

I love the cover of Argos! 🐕!

I vote for you to have another staycation! Have a wonderful, and cooler, week with no more broken electronics! 🌞

    • fuonlyknew says:

Yeah, Open Water was more about the couple. That one really got to me though. The second one didn’t even have a shark at all and the third one was okay. Another cage dive movie. I’ll tell you what, I don’t swim in the ocean anymore. I know what’s under the water. LOL
I just got Argos and can’t wait to read it. Sounds so fun:)

  13. kozbisa says:

I actually cried a little when I read Obsidio. Kaufman talked about how emotional it was for her writing the dad parts, since she lost her father while writing that book, and it shows. I hope you love it!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I’ve just started it. Thanks for the warning. I’ll have tissues handy. Funny thing, I love when a book can make me cry. That’s when I know the author gave me genuine characters..

  14. Yeah, I’m waiting for the Meg movie (I think it comes out in August sometime?), though I have always been deathly afraid of sharks (since Jaws) and would never swim in an ocean further than over my feet, ha ha.

    • fuonlyknew says:

Yep, next month. I’ve been following since Steve first mentioned it was optioned. Been years in the making and I hope it’s great! I barely put a toe in the ocean anymore. I’ve seen some huge sharks while deep sea fishing and I know that are all around while swimming. I don’t feel lucky. LOL

  15. northwoman says:

You got lots of interesting books again this week. I’m all for reading and staycations. It’s easier to cook than go out to eat. I am a good cook and can make what I want. It takes so much time to eat out; sometimes I’d rather just eat a protein bar or make a smoothie as I’m too absorbed in what I am doing or reading. Well this week is to be 80s instead of 90s because lots of rainy patches, so also more humidity. It felt nice this morning. Anne – Books of My Heart

    • fuonlyknew says:

I usually do quick small meals. My son loves when I cook. LOL We have a bit of a cool down here too. Only low 90s and less humidity. I’m loving it while it lasts.

  16. StackingMy BookShelves says:

Oh no that is all I will see is Sharks! My hubby loves shark week. You have a great book drop this week. Have a wonderful week of reading!

    Mary

    • fuonlyknew says:

I always look forward to shark week. There’s so mnay extra shows during that week. Sometimes, they are better than the shark week episodes. LOL

  17. I don’t think I’ve seen any shark movies. I’m not really a movie person. I do love nature shows. I know I’ve seen some of those about sharks. Have a great week and enjoy your new books!

  18. I’ve never watched Shark Week, but I know everyone loves it! I do LOVE my shark movies though! I hope you love your new books!!

  19. Hey!! I love that – snuffy lives lol Wow!! I remember you introduced me to those Meg books and I couldn’t get a copy of the first one over here, but now the film is coming out, I should be able to get one easily!

  20. I forgot to say I did a Sunday post for the first time this week…

  21. S. J. Pajonas (spajonas) says:

Everyone seems to love Shark Week, but I don’t understand the appeal. 🙂 Enjoy your new books!

    • fuonlyknew says:

It makes me wonder about myself. I’m so scared of them I won’t swim in the Gulf anymore, yet I love reading about them and watching shows and movies.

  22. yvonne473 says:

All those books look so good. Especially the Katie Ruggle ones. I’ve been wanting to read hers for awhile. Have a great week!

  23. I just read Meg so I’m thoroughly in the shark week mood. 🙂

  24. Nicci Boyle says:

It’s shark week? That’s a thing? Huh. I have a friend who LOVES sharks but I must admit, I don’t get it. They freak me out. 🙂

    • fuonlyknew says:

LOL I often wonder as I won’t swim in the ocean anymore but I love watching shows and movies about them.

  25. Snuffy is the best Shark Week promo ever. Didn’t have a post this week. Quick road trip to see the Blues in Biloxi and New Orleans for its 300 centennial.

  26. I am SO not a shark fan! I read the opening bits of Jaws at an impressionable age and was terrified to go in the water for months. So I tend to avoid Shark Week like the plague.

The heat has broken here, at least somewhat (80s instead of high 90s), and we finally got rain… Too. Much. Rain. 6.5 inches in 12 hours on Saturday, and probably 10 or more inches total so far, with more to come. Luckily no flooding has affected us directly.
