I’m also linking up with The Sunday Post hosted by Kimberly @Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

Some chit chat.

My thoughts go out to those in the path of the hurricane. We were lucky here and only had some breezy days. Hope everyone came through okay.

We finally got some fall like weather. While the sun is still hot, there is no humidity and the nights are cool. I got in the pool and the water temp was a bit chilly. Forgot to check and see how much the temp had dropped. I actually love cooler water for swimming. It was a shock the first time I swam in the ocean. It was as warm as bath water. LOL I plan to enjoy the pool while I still can.

I’ve been reading a lot of horror and watching plenty of scary movies. Been having fun with my 31 Days Of Thrills And Chills. I plan to do a Cozy November next and share a bunch of my cozy mystery books. Then I think I’ll relax for December, I hope. LOL I do have some great holiday reads to share.

Have a fabulous  Sunday and brand new week!

  1. Lulu says:

They mostly come out at night has such a pretty cover! I’m tempted to pick it up based on that alone!

  2. Rachel @Waves of Fiction says:

I’m such a baby when it comes to cold water! Glad to hear you enjoy it. 🙂

I love Katie Ruggle! I think you have her prequel novella and it was fun. Hope you love her books too! 🙂

    • fuonlyknew says:

I love Katie’s books too and excited to start this series. I just finished her Rocky Mountain series and had such fun.

  3. Greg says:

Cozy November sounds fun. I haven’t read a cozy in ages. Glad you guys didn’t get hit hard with that storm- -I was worried about everyone I knew down that way.

You’ve got quite the scary reads lined up, looks like. 🙂

    • fuonlyknew says:

I have so many light mysteries and cozies I’ve read and bought that I figured I’d do a month long feature and get those reviews written. And I think I’ll need some lighter reading after this month. LOL We were lucky that the storm stayed East of us.

  4. That storm is crazy! I’ve been watching on the news genuinely worried about the bloggers I know in it’s path.
I’m going to be checking out some of those freebies. The covers are awesome. 🙂

    • fuonlyknew says:

We were lucky here and I feel so bad for those that were in it’s path. A very bad storm. Congratulations on your new home!

  5. I know quite a few bloggers in Florida and it seems they all missed the worst of the storm thankfully. Cryptid Zoo was a fun read for me and the first by that author. I hope to enjoy his Sasquatch offerings too!

    • fuonlyknew says:

My sister lives about an hour away from me in Florida and we both were lucky to not be in it’s path. Cryptid Zoo was fun and I will be reading more by the author. Sasquatch!

  6. Angelica Joy says:

What a great idea to get you in the spirit of the holidays. Enjoy!

    Angelica @ Paperback Princess

  7. sjhigbee says:

I’m glad you are getting cooler weather – I know you suffer insanely high humidity levels. Our autumn continues to be eerily warm, which I’m thoroughly enjoying! Go on loving those swims for as long as you can and have a great week, Laura:)

    • fuonlyknew says:

I didn’t even break a sweat at work! Loving the low humidity. LOL It’s been a long hot summer but not wanting winter to get here yet. The Farmer’s Almanac is predicting brutal temps in late winter. Brrr.

  8. Oh excited to see you’ve got Macabre Tales!!! He’s 92 years old, would you believe? I hope when I get that age I’m still blogging and even writing books!! (92!!!!)

It’s definitely turned here in the UK too, feeling very Autumble and nippier than I’d like, but I’ve had a couple of warm mornings – despite the wind! (And the powercuts we’ve had!) So my heart really goes out to those coping with hurricanes. xx

Hope you have a lovely week ahead.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I can’t wait to read his book. And he sure is still going strong, isn’t he! Our hurricane season ends in November but that doesn’t mean we don’t get any. Just hoping this is the last of it this year. This cooler weather will lower the water temps and that helps.

  9. Daniela Ark says:

I am so happy to hear you came through okay! OMG I can’t believe you got in the pool Laura LOL buy yeah enjoy it while you still can.Loving your 31 Days Of Thrills And Chills! Can’t wait for the review of the come mostly at night. I LOVE THAT COVER SO MUCH!

    • fuonlyknew says:

We didn’t get much of the storm. It stayed east of us. The pool temp is cooling down a bit but I like that. Was born up north where the Great Lakes are freezing cold year round. LOL I’m enjoying my October feature and reading some great creepy stories.

  10. I am hoping to watch some haunted shows this week myself, but for now I am reading them! You’ve snagged some creepy looking books this week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I’m reading a lot of scary books and also squeezing in time for some horror films while doing chores in the house. I’ll be needing a break from the scares after this month. LOL

  11. Oooh, yes. I forgot I got a copy of The Ballad of Black Tom as well. I hope you are loving your spooky October. 🙂

  12. Oh I love Katie Ruggle!! I hope you enjoy her books!

  13. I’m doing what you’re doing…reading spooky books and watching lots of scary movies. Ah, I love Halloween! Oh! Cozy Mystery November sounds great…don’t forget my cozy murder mystery Scraps of Paper (and its 4 sequels)…maybe even for your November month…it’s my best-selling series right now and has been for 10 months. Over 26,000 people have downloaded the first free one since January. Yeah! Loving your Halloween reading month and your picks. I’ve even downloaded a few.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I’m going to work with Sherry and see what times she has available. If you want, go ahead and send the books. We both have the first one already!

  14. I grabbed the last three freebies. Thanks for sharing and have a great day!!!!
    sherry @ fundinmental Sunday Memes

  15. I also hauled The Ballad of Black Tom! But I don’t have much of a stomach for scary tales I’m afraid xD I respect you and your strong guts 😀
    Have a nice week, Laura!

  16. Stormi D Johnson says:

So glad that the hurricane missed you, I was worried about you! I am going to read some cozies in November to relax and get away from all the horror I have been reading…lol. Can’t wait to see what you spotlight for November! 🙂 As if I need to add more cozies to my TBR! 😉

    Have a great week!

    Week in Review

    • fuonlyknew says:

We got lucky with the storm turning east. I have so many cozies and light mysteries and looking forward to sharing them next month.

  17. Beware Of The Reader says:

I wish I could swim in the ocean Laura! No Sunday post for me today as I binge read all weekend and went to the theater to watch A Star is Born 😉

    • fuonlyknew says:

No swimming in the ocean for me anymore. I know what’s out there. LOL My pool is just fine:) I hope you enjoyed the movie. I loved the original.

  18. kozbisa says:

Glad to hear you were not in Michael’s path. That was one scary hurricane. It figures FL got fall-like weather as soon as I left. Your weather inspired me to book a Canadian cruise for next year.

    • fuonlyknew says:

All we got from the storm was some wind and then fall like temps afterwards. Which I’m enjoying while it lasts. Never been on a cruise but maybe someday!

  19. Northwoman says:

I’m enjoying your scary books this month even if it is not my genre. I will probably know all the mystery ones next month because that is all I read for a long time. Although if they are newer I may not. I read more thriller mysteries and police procedural / detective mysteries now than cozy.

I’m doing the HoHoHoRAT that Kimberly is hosting in November and I have collected some holiday books for it. Also I hope to read a series in a month in November but haven’t decided which one yet. There are 80 zillion possibilities. I plan to narrow it down this week.

Soon I’ll be swimming (indoors) at least twice a week with my daughter at water exercise classes. She tried on a swimsuit today and it fit so we are off to a good start.

Enjoy your reading and have a great week! Anne – Books of My Heart

    • fuonlyknew says:

They will be lighter mysteries and cozies next month. I will need a break from the horror. LOL I have so many series I’m reading now. I did finish a couple. A warm pool indoors would work for me this winter:)

  20. I have always wanted to read a good Cozy, I think I might try and do some next year as a challenge to myself.

We gots lots of rain and wind but not bad, we are too high up.

I hope you have a fantastic week Laura! Happy Reading!

    • fuonlyknew says:

When I finally tried a cozy I got hooked. They are light and fun with such cute titles and covers. Glad to hear you didn’t get any damage from the storm.

  21. Jan says:

I’m glad that even though you’ve gotten some fall weather you can still enjoy your pool. It sounds like you’re enjoying Thrills and Chills as well as reading and watching scary stuff! I hope you continue to enjoy it all this week, too!

    • fuonlyknew says:

The weather is perfect. I’m sure we’ll still get more summer weather and I won’t complain. Me and cold don’t get along. LOL I’m having a good time with my Thrills and Chills. Didn’t realize I had so many scary books!

  22. It feels like autumn here but we had a hot summer and I’m glad I took the time to enjoy the sun. Enjoy your new books and the cooler weather!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I loved the longer than usual summer. I’m sure we will get some more warm temps before fall finally settles in.

  23. Good to hear that you escaped Michael’s damage. Love Katie Ruggle’s books.

  24. Hurray for cooler nights! We’re finally getting some of those too. I hope you enjoy your new reads. They Mostly Come Out At Night has been on my TBR forever!

  25. Liliana says:

Those cozy mysteries you picked look like a lot of fun! Can’t wait to see what you think of them!

    Happy reading!

  26. I was worried about how much of the hurricane you might get. Glad it worked out but like you, I feel so badly for everyone struck by the disaster. I’m curious about The Current too and I must have missed your thoughts on The Moor so I’m off to check them out. I’m loving all your posts for this month and you’ve put so much work into them!

    • fuonlyknew says:

We got lucky with the storm but so many others didn’t. I hope this is last one for the year. The publisher reached out to me for The Current as I loved Descent. This author sure can put words to paper! And I’m having such fun with my October feature. It’s 31 reviews plus some tour ones and I think my brain is in overdrive. LOL

  27. Gayathri Lakshminarayanan says:

The thrift shop murder and the entire series sound super interesting. I will be checking out. Have a great week.

    Gayathri @ Elgee Writes

  28. ERK says:

Oh my goodness! You manage to post so much!!! I am having a hard time scheduling for Blogtober, my last scheduled post goes up tonight 😭 and the weather is same here too! I long to live by the sea again 😍

    • fuonlyknew says:

October is always my busiest month. I share all of the scary reads I’ve had that need reviews. It’s a lot of work but so much fun!

  29. Yvonne says:

We’re having cooler weather, but it’s always raining. So depressing. Cozy November sounds like fun. Have a great week!

  30. StackingMy BookShelves says:

I have to go check out your review of The Moor as I have wanted this one for a bit now. Happy Reading and sorry I am a bit late for TSP. =)
