This is my own version of a weekly book haul and all things new on fuonlyknew.

I’m also linking up with The Sunday Post hosted by Kimberly @Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

Some chit chat.

I mentioned last week that I knew spring was here to stay when my pecan trees started to bud.

Guess what! They have!

20190315_122241

I’m so excited! Spring is very brief here, then is gets sweltering hot. I do love hot though and can’t wait to get in the pool. I’ll try to remember to capture a photo of my first dip of 2019.

What else is happening? Not much, really. Enjoying some good books. I finished binging Gilmore Girls. Gonna miss that show.  And now I’m looking for some new shows. Got any suggestion? Let me know!

Have a lovely Sunday everyone.

  1. Your buds give me hope. Lol. Loving your haul. Hope your week is amazing.

  2. Your new books look great!
I definitely can’t wait for spring to come. It’s been raining and very windy here what feels like forever. It hasn’t been very long, since we had some very good days a view weeks back.. but it feels like a life time ago.
Have a great week and happy reading!

  3. Greg says:

I’m looking for a new show too, I seem to be between shows at the moment lol? And yay for spring!! We need it up here haha!

I hope you get to open the pool soon!

The LAst Night looks nice and spooky, and I love the look of Dark Island too.

    • fuonlyknew says:

Spring is here and I’m loading up with books for reading outside. Need to get some color on my white legs. LOL

  4. Beware Of The Reader says:

Pecan tree! That sound so exotic to me Laura! Pecan nuts are crazy expensive here LOL And I can’t wait to see your first dip in the pool! Happy Sunday!

    • fuonlyknew says:

They are expensive here too. I have the Elliot’s which are the best kind. I get a pretty penny for them when I harvest the trees:)

  5. Yay, spring! You have pecan trees? Oh, I love pecan trees, so shady and such movement in a breeze!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I love pecan trees. The only things bad about them are their shallow roots, which is why they fall over so easy in hurricanes, and that their limbs are weak. They snap off for no reason. Some are huge so I never park under one.

  6. I one clicked Dead Eye too! It sounds like a lot of fun. Can’t wait to read it.

I wish spring was on its way here! We’ve had storm after storm. It’s horrible. The winds are so high I’m genuinely terrified I’ll wake up to my solar panels half way down my street instead of mounted on my roof!

    • fuonlyknew says:

Dead Eye was a hoot and I’ll be following the series now:) I kept hearing about the wind this past week. Glad your panels remain intact!

  7. I had looked at Dark Island but the Goodreads reviews on it weren’t that great so I have my doubts now. Unexpected World was a bit disappointing.

    • fuonlyknew says:

Dark Island sounded fun. We’ll see. And Pike’s book looked familiar. I didn’t grab that one though. I knew I was just falling for the dog on the cover. LOL

  8. Gayathri Lakshminarayanan says:

The spring is kinda slow this year. But I am enjoying the winter as much as I can. Have a great week ahead.

  9. Spring in Ohio is marked by the excessive MUD! Everything is flooded and muddy.

  10. Tammy says:

Love the tree buds! My orange tree is starting flower😁 I need to go request The Lovely and the Lost!

  11. The trees around here are budding, too. In fact, we have a Blossom Trail that goes along the mountain areas…and maybe now is the time to ride it.

Enjoy your books…Murder Between the Pages looks good. Here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES

    • fuonlyknew says:

The dogwoods are blooming and as I’m driving down the road the wind blows and the petals look like snow. Some of my bulbs are starting to bloom and things smell so good!

  12. I feel like we are over the hump and headed to spring. Although one night is getting down to freezing this week, so not quite. Have a great week with some wonderful books!

    • fuonlyknew says:

It’s supposed to be around 70 here all week. I plan to grab some time outside to read and get a bit of son.

  13. Yaaay! I need to spring to stay! I’m ready for consistent warmth.

    • fuonlyknew says:

We had a bit of a cool spell Saturday but it’s already gone and spring like weather will be here all next week. I think winter is finally over!

  14. Wow! I bet it will be at least a month before our pecan trees bud out. We have had a chilly spring.

I love the covers of the books you read this week. Murder Between the Pages looks really good.

    • fuonlyknew says:

They budded out early this year. A sure sign spring is here to stay. I can’t believe they went from buds to leave in just a couple of days! Murder Between The Pages was fun!

  15. I’m very envious of your spring! I was trapped in that bomb cyclone, so we just got a ton of snow. Have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I don’t know what it is with winter this year. It seems to keep coming back for a lot of people. I hope spring finds you soon:)

  16. kozbisa says:

Those springs of green are so encouraging. What is it? One more week until spring is officially here? I have my eye on the new Barnes book. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

  17. Berls says:

Yay for spring! I’m with you I like hot weather too and cannot wait for it to stop being chilly. I won’t complain though, we’ve had a great week of 60s and 70s.

I love the Gilmore Girls, such a great show. Have you watched Parenthood? It has the same actress who plays Lorelei (blanking on her name right now) and has a great family feel. Easily one of my top favorite shows – last I checked it was on Netflix.

    Have a great week!

  18. We have an okay length of spring, but it is very wet and mud everywhere. But I’m ready for it. I want to be able to sleep with my windows open again (which won’t last very long before it is too hot, but I love it while I can). Have a great week.

  19. sjhigbee says:

So glad that your spring has finally arrived – we’ve got at least another month here where the weather is liable to turn feral and frozen on us, though given the insanely mild Feb we had here, it will create havoc if we have a cold snap now as everything is ridiculously advanced… Have a great week, Laura:)

    • fuonlyknew says:

I worry about the new growth too. It could get really messed up if we get a cold spell. I don’t think that will happen though:)

  20. Lelia T says:

Just picked up the Unexpected World audiobook, thanks to you—I love EMP stories 😉

  21. Carole says:

I notice a few trees starting to bud on my walk today. I am so ready for spring to get her and stay awhile. It will be some time before I am able to get in my pool though. Great haul this week. I hope you enjoy them all and have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

The pool is still super cold here but the sun is really heating up. I like cold water so I don’t think it will be long before I can get in the pool.

  22. Glad your plants are doing fine!! Definitely check out Buffy whenever you get the chance to!

    Here’s my Sunday Post!

Ronyell @ Rabbit Ears Book Blog

  23. I adore the Gilmore Girls. I’ve seen the whole series three times at least and some episodes more. Have you tried Parenthood. I wasn’t sure I’d like it but I started it on Netflix 2 years ago and couldn’t stop. It also stars Lauren Graham. I also recommend Riverdale for some good mindless entertainment and the first 2 seasons are on Netflix now.

I am so ready for spring and your buds are so inspiring. Our trees around here are budding some but I know we’ll get one more snow in April – we always do.

I was able to grab some of the same freebies – even the snake book – lord help me.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I love Gilmore Girls. And I just added Parenthood to my Que to start soon. Riverdale is another one I really like. Right now I’m watching The Umbrella Academy. Fun!

  24. Stormi D Johnson says:

Hoping spring is here to stay but I know we are not out of the woods yet because some of our worst snows has been on the first day of SPRING!!! You got some cool looking books!

    Have a great week,
    Stormi

    • fuonlyknew says:

I know. I keep waiting for one of the winter vortexes to make it’s way down here. I sure hope it doesn’t and we’ve seen the last of winter, Stormi!

  25. I am so glad for spring! The crazy weather here was driving me insane! It was still snowing a week ago, but right now it’s 50 degrees and the sun is out! I hope it stays that way. Lol

  26. A Renfro says:

Spring is brief here too. Hope it fully starts soon. Wynonna Earp and The Kominsky Method are great on Netflix. Have a great week.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I’ve watched some of Wynonna Earp. I should try more. And The Kominsky Method is in my Que. Thanks, Anthony:)

  27. Julie says:

I am also enjoying the first buds on the trees. Everything is so beautiful. You have a nice book haul, enjoy the books!
