Lancaster, on the press tour for his upcoming Christmas movie.
Sasha’s furious, yet finds herself overcome with lust when Drake strolls into
her office. She’s surprised, considering she’s never dated a
white man. Drake’s attraction toward her is just as intense, and
the pair partake in a hot, steamy sex session right there in her office.
Despite Sasha’s promise to keep things all business during the press tour,
their sensual trysts heat up even further while out on the road. In
the end, Sasha must decide whether their cultural differences, along
with her secret painful past and Drake’s playboy reputation, are
worth her risking her heart and career—especially without knowing

Denise  N. Wheatley is a lover of romance, happy endings and the art of
storytelling. She used to cry as a three-year old child when her
mother read to her because she so badly wanted to read the books
herself! Once she learned, Denise constantly had her nose in a novel
(especially the ones she’d sneak from her mom’s bookshelf). She’s
been writing for as long as she can remember and draws inspiration
from Chicago, the city where she was born and raised, as well as Los
Angeles, which is one of her favorite places in the world. Denise has
published several books and novellas with Simon & Schuster, Red
Sage Publishing, eXtasy Books and independently, has written
screenplays and teleplays, and has ghostwritten for some of your
faves. When she isn’t sitting behind her computer, you can find
Denise in a movie theater, on a tennis court, watching true crime
television or chatting on social media.

Cakewalk To Murder

by M.K. Scott

Synopsis

Bake-off fever is in full-swing and Donna can’t help but have visions of becoming the next great baking star, but the competition is stiff, and someone is willing to kill to win.

When one of the contestants is found dead, a twist of fate puts Donna at the center of the competition. That’s the perfect position to unravel the mystery, but only if she doesn’t get caught in the crosshairs.

Check out this peek inside:

The bell rang as two jean clad men entered, toting duffels and wearing backpacks. One had a ballcap on backward while another one had a scruffy beard similar to Ten’s. The younger one, with the cap, bent slightly to put down his duffle, the word CREW spelled out on his t-shirt.

“Hello. Can I help you?”

The second man ran his hand through his thinning hair and smiled, causing his crows’ feet to fan out attractively. “Thornton Ames. We’re with the Bake-off. I think we have rooms here?”

The younger guy grumbled as he tied his athletic shoe. “We didn’t get in with the rest of the crew. They’ll be partying every night.”

Donna pretended not to hear. She reached for their key and readied her welcome speech, tweaking it the tiniest bit. “My husband, who happens to part of Legacy’s fine police department, welcomes you to The Painted Lady Inn, your peaceful haven. I was just getting ready to put your gift baskets in your room, but I can show you the room and leave the basket. Multi-tasking,” she told them with a smile.

“Much obliged,” Thornton commented with a slight drawl to his words.

“Carolinas?” Donna asked with interest. She should have guessed it with a dignified name like Thornton. She loaded one arm with gift baskets and gestured toward the stairs with her free hand. Their room was on the second floor, and they both looked capable of walking.

“No, ma’am. Georgia. Atlanta is becoming quite the production place. Cheaper than Hollywood.” Thornton fell in step beside her.

“So, is t bake-off show from Atlanta or Hollywood?” She hoped Hollywood. That would sound much more glamorous in the retelling.

About the Authors:

M. K. Scott is the husband and wife writing team behind The Painted Lady Inn Mysteries and The Talking Dog Detective Agency. Morgan K Wyatt is the general wordsmith, while her husband, Scott, is the grammar hammer and physics specialist. He uses his engineering skills to explain how fast a body falls when pushed over a cliff and various other felonious activities. The Internet and experts in the field provide forensic information, while the recipes and B and B details require a more hands-on approach. Morgan’s daughter, who manages a hotel, provides guest horror stories to fuel the plot lines. The couple’s dog, Chance, is the inspiration behind Jasper, Donna’s dog. Overall, both are fun series to create and read.

Sheriff Emerson Watts has discovered a body beneath Mt Rainier’s watchful gaze. An ex-FBI agent with a once bright future, he sifts through the detritus of the murder scene and realizes there might be a connection between his case and the missing girl in Gabriel’s Horn. To My Readers:
I’ve been a lover of romance for as long as I can
remember. WHEN IT’S ALL SAID & DONE is fun, contemporary
romantic comedy that’s very close to my heart. As the novel came to
fruition, I found myself wanting to be friends with the smart, savvy,
beautiful women in the book and date the handsome, strong, sexy, men!
My goal was to tell an entertaining story that embodies matters of
the heart and would leave readers thinking about these colorful
characters long after the final chapter. I hope you enjoy reading it

Check out the excerpt!

The dead were everywhere.
Bathed in late afternoon rays of sunlight, Magnus stood on a patch of land surrounded by algae-covered swamp and cursed. Why had he and Lexie been dragged to the godforsaken hellhole again? The songs of cicadas welcoming the coming twilight played in the background while the black eyes of the dead stared at him from the water.
Scarred, bruised, with fresh gaping wounds, the ghosts of men, women, and children lingered above the water. Some missing limbs and even heads, the apparitions glared at him. He preferred things the way they had been before when he’d depended on Lexie to tell him what the dead wanted. He feared her gift firmly entrenched in his center.
Lexie spoke in hushed tones to Detective Emile Glapion. Emile understood Lexie’s gift having been raised by a voodoo priestess. Several officers from the St. John The Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Department waited around them, peering into the water at the naked victim.
“Otis Landry was a good man.” Emile’s voice carried in the humid, sticky air. “I know how hard this must be for you, but can you think of any reason why anyone would cut up your landlord like that?”
Otis’s bloated corpse had strange symbols carved across his torso and arms. Magnus recognized the geometric shapes and wavy lines of the devouring spell used on Renee. Her murder, as well as others’ in the city covered with the same carvings, remained unsolved. By the rate the bodies were piling up, Magnus doubted the police would ever get a handle on the killings.
He floated closer to Lexie, unseen by the others, eager to eavesdrop on more of her conversation. These days, Magnus found his charge hard to read. It was as if the black inside her blocked him. He used to be able to glean her every thought, sense her feelings, and guess her next move, but now, she was a mystery—much like other women he’d known.
An image of the lovely Frances floated across his mind. But as soon as he pictured her delicate face and honey-blonde hair, he remembered the way she screamed as he pushed her over the cliff behind his family home.
He didn’t like reliving that moment. It was one of many he wished to forget.
