His hold on her dropped for mere seconds, and this was all the time she needed. She ran, trying not to think how much faster a bullet flew when compared to the speed of her skinny legs.

I Can See You
by Joss Landry
Synopsis
Emma stuck her face to the window to watch the rain. Lightning in the background drew a fiery specter in the sky while her eyes traced the water droplets running down the pane like tears.” Emma Willis is ten years old and has a secret. She not only inherited her grandmother’s power of sight, she can accomplish much more. Like most children without siblings growing up amongst adults, she is precocious yet at times lonely. When a murderer is loose in Newark, a maniac with a thirst for killing little girls, she begins to understand why her Granny Dottie called her sight a curse. She will need all her powers to catch a killer and help the people in her life: Detective Hank Apple, her teacher Christina Tyler, and her little family of three. Only … the madman knows who she is!

Thanks so much for visiting fuonlyknew!
This sounds really interesting and intense. Usually thrillers feature older protagonists, so I expect this protagonist’s age will increase the level of danger the reader feels.
My Friday 56
She’s just in fifth grade and it makes it so much more fearful to read. She’s no fool though.
On the bright side, the statistical likelihood of being hit is very low and the chance of it being fatal equally low. :/
As long as you keep that distance between you! This guy is relentless.
Beautiful cover. Very interesting to read a book where the heroine is only in fifth grade.
And–I sure wouldn’t want to test statistics when it comes to a bullet heading towards me!
It’s quite good Taylor. I would have finsihed it last night but got side tracked by a water park full of sharks! I’ve been wanting to finish that book and had some scary dreams last night!
Sounds good and I really like the cover.

Just finsihed this and will be reviewing the end of this month!
