This is my own version of a weekly book haul and all things new on fuonlyknew.

I’m also linking up with The Sunday Post hosted by Kimberly @Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

Sunday Post

Some chit chat.

It’s the weekend and I’m busy swimming, sipping Sangria, and relaxing. Of course, I’m also doing some reading since it’s a long weekend for me. Boy did I need it.

I just had a glass of wine. One tiny glass of wine. And I’m tipsy and having to correct about every fourth word I type. LOL I used to drink like a fish when I was a bartender. Drank all during my shift (a job requirement, seriously!) and then went out with friends and drank and played pool and danced until the roosters crowed! Oh to those days of youth. Now I’ll probably have a hangover from one lousy little glass of wine!

Onto other things. What do you have planned for the weekend?

Yay for swimming and reading over Memorial Day! And a little wine too. 🙂 And yes my alcohol tolerance is not what it once was lol. Makes me feel old ha ha.

I feel like I need to read River of Teeth. Seriously that one looks awesome!

    • fuonlyknew says:

The Sangria is delicious. Just sipping it slowly though. LOL River Of Teeth is an interesting spin. Just getting started on it and there are some strange characters.

  2. I didn’t think much of Surviving the Evacuation-MC was a bit of an annoying idiot! I REALLY hated Survival! The MCs were the most annoying ever and talked to each other in this really idiotic manner like posh English gentlemen! Good luck with those! I’ll be interested to see what you think of River of Teeth!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I grabbed the first book in the Evacuation series. Now I’m not sure I’ll read it. I’ve found some great books through your recommendations and the MC’s aren’t sounding so good now. River Of Teeth is out there. LOL

  3. It sounds like you are going to have a very relaxing weekend! Enjoy your glass of wine, and happy reading! 🙂

  4. Lightweight 😛 But hey, at least you weren’t so tipsy that you didn’t even notice the typos lol. Enjoy your relaxing weekend! I’m off to check out some of those freebies.

  5. I’ve always been a lightweight, but the good thing about it is that I never drink enough to even GET a hangover. I’m out before I can drink that much 😀 which is like.. not very much 😀

  6. I used to go bar hopping two or three nights a week in the 80s…and then get up and go to work…LOL. Now I can only drink two glasses of something over a period of hours…but the other day, I had three during an afternoon when I would be at the movies (seeing an 80s icon, Debra Winger, in her newest role). I still felt buzzed when the movie was over. LOL.

My daughter has done bartending, so she makes a mean drink. I have Uber take me home after her parties.

Enjoy the weekend…I love Lesley Diehl’s books. And I’m curious about Just a Little Junk.

    Thanks for visiting my blog.

  7. sjhigbee says:

I’m glad that the weather is swimming pool hot and can empathise over the glass of wine – I look back with a kind of wonder that I regularly used to drink best part of a bottle over a meal on my own and be just fine. These days, like you, even a glass can have me away with the fairies… Have a great holiday week-end:). My Sunday Post –

  8. Great haul. I had Jack Daniels wine coolers last night but mainly just got sleepy. Last week I was craving margaritas which is odd because I’m not a huge fan of tequila but I managed to make them anyway! I have to buy Just a Little Junk. It looks really cute and is calling my name. Hope you have an awesome week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I like the hard coolers and they like me. LOL I can usually have one and be okay. The problem is, when out by the pool, you have more than one and don’t feel the buzz until it’s too late. LOL I spotted Just A Little Junk on someones blog and had to buy it. It’s perfect for my summer reading list.

  9. yvonne473 says:

LOL about the wine, Yum Sangria 🙂 Those books all look wonderful. Hope you have a great holiday weekend. Sounds like you have everything planned out fine 🙂 Enjoy and have a great week!

  10. I would do some swimming but our pool pump is broken. Someone is coming next week to look at it and hopefully we’ll have a pool for the summer. 🙂

I’ve never been much of a drinker, but I do like the occasional Baileys.

Hope you have a great week. ~Aleen

    • fuonlyknew says:

I have a new pump so hopefully I won’t have any problems for this year. I like Baileys on ice. It’s sweet and refreshing:)

  11. I hear you. I used to be able to drink with the big dogs, too, but now I’m on the porch with the puppies. Ha ha. Two Fridays ago I had more than my usual two martinis and I switched over to my Facebook musician account because I was afraid of what I might comment. Heh heh.

I got Ash: Wheels and Zombies for my October Hallowern Zombiethon. Thanks for posting about it. It sounds wonderful. The MC is in a wheelchair. Have a wonderful week and enjoy your sangria. 🙂

    • fuonlyknew says:

Those drinking days are in our past. LOL I remember never even getting hangovers!
Ash looked good to me and I had to grab it also:)

  12. Oh sangria sounds good! I miss the days of my youth when I could drink without a hangover and survive and function on 3 hours sleep. Those days are long, long gone for me…sigh. Oh well!
    have a great week!

  13. Wow! That’s a lot of great book you’ve read! Have a great week!

I saw the comment from chucklesthescot but I still couldn’t resist 😉 I picked up a copy of Surviving the Evacuation from Kobo—thanks for the freebie headsup!

    • fuonlyknew says:

Glad to share. Her comment has me curious whether I’ll enjoy it. Sometimes that’s why I try a book. LOL

  22. the bookworm says:

lol abou the glass of wine…I’m good with two and no more myself. Great books, Just a Little Junk looks like a fun one especially. Enjoy the long weekend and your books!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I think two would be almost too much for me now. LOL Just A Little Junk was one I spotted on a fellow bloggers post and had to buy.

  23. I really need to take a moment to read River of Teeth! I hope you enjoy your books. 🙂

    • fuonlyknew says:

River Of Teeth is thrilling me so far. There are some excellent characters and I’m huge on character driven stories.

  24. Oh that’s too funny.

Just a little Junk looks like such a fun read!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I read about Just A Little Junk on another blog and had to grab a copy. It sounded too fun, And that cover. LOL

  25. Drangonfly says:

DID YOU SAY SANGRIA LAURA??? Sangria is the new name for ambrosia 🙂 That’s what I did over the weekend too some good ole sangria seeping 🙂 Glad you had a relaxing swimming, Sangriing and reading weekend 🙂 Thx for the freebies! got them all 🙂

    • fuonlyknew says:

I sure did! And it was sooooo goooodddd.LOL I hope you had fun too, and enjoy those freebies. I had to grab some too.

  26. Haha, that sounds like me when I drink these days. I’m such a lightweight. I try to have a glass of wine sometimes when I read and it just makes me almost instantly fall asleep.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I figure if I have a glass several times a week, I’ll build up a little tolerance and not want to fall asleep after one glass. I love my Sangria in the summer!

  27. LOL what’s up with not holding our alcohol anymore? I can do a glass of wine, but not much more, or I’ll feel like crap the next morning.
your new books look awesome, I hope you’ll enjoy them all, Laura 🙂
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading.

  28. Ha ha! I’m glad you enjoyed that wine! It’s now Friday and I’m still catching up from my week on the blog… I think I should celebrate with wine if I manage. 🙂

I hope you’ve had a good week and thanks for stopping by my blog!

  29. Lola says:

I never drink, so i would probably get tipsy form one glass as well. I haven’t found many drinks I actually like the taste of. I hope you enjoy your new books and have a great week!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I used to love whiskey on ice. Now I’m into a sip of wine here or there and maybe a hard soda or margarita.
