What can I say? I’m shameless

The title says it all. I have a ton of books I need to read and reviews are needing to be written. The pressure is building. What do I do about it? I reread some favorites.

There’s something about just relaxing with a familiar book and enjoying it all over again. This actually works to motivate me and refreshes my interest in books I should be reading. Does it make sense? Probably not. I just know it works.

Do you get all excited about books and then find you can’t make yourself read them? What’s up with that? LOL

So, here is what I’ve been rereading recently.

It did work. After visiting familiar stories I’m now reading some of my new ones. And I was right. I’m able to get immersed in them and having fun.

What do you do to get your reading mojo back? And do you reread books?

  1. Generally, I don’t reread. If I’m not looking forward to the next book on my list, I just pick a completely different genre. That usually does the trick!

Love all these creature feature books! I’ve read Vostok and it was a blast. I agree, reading something familiar or a book you know is going to be quick and fun is the way I get out of a slump too.

At least I’m reading something. LOL It does let m mind relax to reread a favorite book. I usually then go look for something similar and that gets my mojo back in gear.

Not read any of these but they all look really cool!!!

  4. I’ve been thinking lately about how I never re-read books anymore and I feel quite sad about that. Seeing how much you enjoyed going back to some books you’ve enjoyed has really made me see that I need to make more time for my favourite books.

  5. I usually end up rereading maybe 5-15 books a year. If you’ve found it works to help motivate you for other books, then that’s great! I try to save my rereads for times when I don’t have a bunch of ARCs coming up or I just feel stressed and can’t enjoy the reread as much lol.

I also reread books if I get the next in a series and it has been a while since I read the previous one.

  6. I used to reread Harry Potter every year as a treat but not in the last five years! I’d love to reread some old favourites but with over 1000 unread books in my house, I really need to deal with them first!
