This is my own version of a weekly book haul and all things new on fuonlyknew.

I’m also linking up with The Sunday Post hosted by Kimberly @Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

Some chit chat.

The word for June is HOT. It stared in the 90s with plenty of sun. The gulf waters are really heating up and that doesn’t bode well as the hotter the water, the more fuel for tropical storms. We’ve been very lucky since Hurricane Ivan and Katrina. No major storms. Knock on wood! I have fingers and toes crossed for another quiet season this year.

We finally got some rain later this week. Loads of it. And we will be getting more until it finally clears on Tuesday. I miss the pool but am reading a lot of books while trapped inside. Finished watching new episodes of Riverdale. Not a dull moment there! And I’ve been enjoying some naps:) Nothing like a relaxing short snooze to make things right again.

Have a lovely Sunday everyone.

  1. Greg says:

I’m watching Riverdale S3 again and you’re right- not a dull moment haha! That show kills me. Here’s hoping you guys have a quiet season, like you said. And hope you get a cooldown. It’s been nice here, not humid yet.

The deep End- I love that series. 🙂

  2. My weather word for June so far is WET. I’d love a little more hot…

I’m gearing up for a binge watch of Riverdale S3. I watched the first few episodes week on week then decided that wasn’t going to work for me so saved them for when the entire season was available.

  3. Hunter Shae has another book coming out already? Whoa he’s a fast writer!

  4. 90s already? Whew! I hope you get your quiet storm season. NOAA is predicting a near-normal year for hurricanes, so you might.

Naps and reading sound lovely! I’m looking forward to taking some time off.

  5. Tammy says:

Another new Hunter Shea? Wow, I swear he writes a new book every month😁

  6. Hopefully you will get another reprieve from hurricane season!

  7. Beware Of The Reader says:

Laura I cross my fingers and toes for you too!!! We had lots of rain and wind here too mith Miguel Storm but nothing like your hurricane! Enjoy your books and rest after all the work you are doing for months now!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I do hope for another year free of tropical storms. Thanks! And I have a couple of weeks coming up where I’m only working at one job. Can’t wait for that:)

  8. Rachel @Waves of Fiction says:

It’s been really heating up here too! We’re supposed to get into the upper 90s today and 105 on Tuesday! Not looking forward to it being that hot. Love naps! Enjoy your books! 🙂

  9. At least rainy days mean lots of reading time! Or in my case, study time, but hey. Found a couple of books via your free list, thanks! 🙂

  10. It has been really nice weather in NJ. The afternoon gets rather hot but the am is gorgeous. We get rain next week again. Usually when we get a lot of rain in the summer we get a snowy winter. I am hoping that isn’t how this year will work.

Have a great week, Laura! Happy Reading!

  11. Stormi D Johnson says:

Wow, glad it’s not that hot here yet! 🙂 I need to watch s3 of Riverdale but my heart is not in it knowing that Luke Perry is no longer with us, it will make me sad. 🙁 I will eventually.

    Have a great week!
    Stormi

    • fuonlyknew says:

It is so sad about Luke Perry. You are in for a bumpy ride when you do get around to watching this new season.

  12. Lots of great new books! It was that hot here right after Memorial Day but now it’s more back to 80s or 70s if it’s rainy. I’m glad you are having time to read and nap! Have a wonderful week and stay cool!

    • fuonlyknew says:

I did enjoy relaxing and napping. LOL Got to set aside a day this week to go out and work in the yard. So many weeds now!

  13. That sounds awfully hot and the threat of tropical storms must be a worry. I hope the weather cools a bit soon.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I usually pack up and go somewhere safe when the large storms are coming. Sometimes it is mandatory to leave. I hope we avoid that again this year:)

  14. Carole says:

It definitely feels like summer around here. We have been in the 90s some days. Our severe weather tends to be tornadoes instead of hurricanes. I hope you don’t have to deal with anything series. Yay for naps! I hope you have a great week and enjoy your new books!

    • fuonlyknew says:

We get tornados spun off from the hurricanes too. It’s been a long time since our last hurricane and I hope we skip them again this year.

  15. kozbisa says:

Rain seemed to be a theme all over the country this past week. We had a ton too. I am keeping my fingers crossed that hurricane season is quiet for you too.

  16. Hope that rain is cooling things off for you even if you are stranded in the house.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I kind of like some rainy days. No yard work to do and I can catch up on reading and the telly. LOL

  17. It’s cold here, being winter and all. I hope you avoid any severe storms this season

    Have a great reading week

    • fuonlyknew says:

We had a mild winter and short spring. Summer is here and as long as we get no major storms, I’ll be happy:) Crossing my fingers!

  18. It seems like we missed a bit of rain while we were away on holiday which is always nice to hear! Looks a bit unsettled this week but I have no plans to go out! I need to read!

  19. Tanya Atkinson says:

I feel you on the hot weather. We’ve been having quite the heatwave and temps reached 100 a couple days. After that it cooled down to a balmy 95 or so. Ha. Fingers crossed that we can both avoid hurricanes this season (I’m in FL).

    • fuonlyknew says:

A balmy 95. LOL Yep, it got hot here early and will get much hotter! I worry about how hot the gulf waters are already.

  20. Hope you get to dry out soon. We’re supposed to be having mid 70s all week and I’m really looking forward to it. I can’t wait to get to Slash and grabbed it too. Can’t go too wrong with Hunter Shea!

    • fuonlyknew says:

We had a dry day Sunday and it looks okay today. Hopefully the rain is mostly done for a while so I can get in the pool! I started Slash. Not too far into it and I hope to finish it this week.

  21. Oooh, you have some goodies on your book list up there! I have the Hick’s book in my to be reviewed stack and I am NOT even going to look at those freebies! I fear my reader is going to explode.

    • fuonlyknew says:

I have a large stack of books I need to review and I still have more to read. Got to stop grabbing them. LOL

  22. Heidi says:

Nothing better than a nice afternoon nap! I will keep my fingers crossed that the hurricane season is mild this year. We don’t need any big hurricanes.

  23. S. J. Pajonas (spajonas) says:

Yeah, I do not like that warmer waters means stronger storms. I have my fingers and toes crossed for a calmer season this year.

    • fuonlyknew says:

We’ve been lucky to have the storms miss us for some time now. I’m hoping that remains the same this year.

  24. Sherry Fundin says:

give me heat and lots of it. ill take the consequences. lol these past couple of days ive done a lot more reading.
    sherry @ Sunday Memes

  25. Yvonne says:

Great books on your list! Enjoy them and have a great week!

  26. alisbooks says:

    Blood Vow looks good!

  27. Definitely hope you have a quiet hurricane season this year!

  28. Fingers crossed that this hurricane season isn’t bad for any of us. We got hit with a ton of rain from Florence last year and Michael brought scary winds and a downed tree that just missed our shed. I would prefer a quiet season, thankyouverymuch. lol

  29. Maureen Bakker says:

I still never watched Riverdale! I really want to though.. If only there was more time in a day. LOL!
    Have a great week 😉
