Some chit chat.

Got my son’s new computer all set up and now I have my baby back! LOL It’s been weird sharing a computer but also a bit relaxing. Funny how not being able to go online can do that to a person. I sure have been missing a lot of great posts and I’ll be trying to stop in and see what I’ve missed.

I did manage to catch up on some shows. I, Zombie and Mindhunter are a couple I’ve been watching. And I want to try Veronica Mars. Curious about it since a lot of people have been sharing their thoughts on the show.

And, of course, I’ve been catching up on some reading. I’ve noticed I’m really into the horror again and I have some good ones I’m saving for the month of October.

It’s good to be back y’all!

Well, my son’s computer died. I knew it was coming. I’d even been shopping around for a new one. He’s using mine right now and really liking it so I ordered the newest version for him. It’ll be around Thursday before it gets here so you might notice I’m hit or miss on visiting and commenting this coming week. He’s quite the computer hog. LOL

I went crazy on the books again. I can’t help myself. LOL Just wait til you see what I got!

This week went by in a blur. I’ve now worked 11 days in a row with two more to go. Then it’s pool time for a day! I’m crossing my fingers the weather is right for it. If not, I’ll be binging the latest season of Heartland. I love that show! And I have a huge stack of new reads to get to.

Some chit chat.

I found out what was wrong with my car and it’s going to cost me a bit to fix it. My SUV is an older model but I had the engine rebuilt a few years ago so I decided it was worth the money to go ahead and fix it. I do plan on starting to look around for something else. A backup vehicle. Maybe a car. Guess I’ll have to keep working both jobs for longer than I wanted to to help with that purchase.

On a brighter note, I managed to squeeze in some pool time. Since the rains we had been having lowered the water temp it was wonderful and so relaxing. And I binged a new show. Have you watched Another Life? It was okay and I do hope they continue with it. And I managed to clean most of my house. LOL

Some chit chat.

They don’t call it the lazy days of summer for nothing. I have been so lazy! My house needs cleaning. I can see dust collecting. Cobwebs forming. Guess it is time to get off my bootie and get to it. I’ll get right on that. As soon as I finish the book I’m reading. Hey, I’m right at the part where…. LOL

So let me see. What new happened this week. My car broke down. What fun. I’m hoping it’s nothing too costly and I’ll get it back next week. Figures it happens with the weekend so close. I do have a loaner they gave me to drive though. It’s a little car and I’m used to my SUV. I feel like no one can see me on the road. LOL And there was a knock at my door. The city workers informed me that the tree in my front yard had gotten too big to trim back. It was interfering with the power lines. Could they remove it, for free? I loved that tree. But, the roots had already damaged my water line twice, costing a hefty chunk in repairs. So, yeah. They did it in one day and you can hardly tell it was ever there. I miss that tree and it looks strange when I drive up to my house.

Some chit chat.

Something new this week and it ain’t good. Hurricane Barry developed in the Gulf and it came into Louisiana over the weekend. I can feel for those folks.  We felt some of those effects here. The Gulf was churning and the outer bands brought some strong rain storms along with coastal flooding, even though we weren’t hit directly by it. Just rain and a lot of it!

I did manage to squeeze in a little pool time earlier in the week. That was nice! Other than that it was work and more work. I need to get a life. LOL

And I’m collecting a lot of scary reads for my 31 Days Of Thrills And Chills feature in October. I review one book a day and have some creepy ones in store for you! I have to start now as that is a lot of books to read and review.

I sure enjoyed those three days I had off this week. I spent some time in the pool. Took a few naps. Watched some movies and caught up on some shows. And relaxed, relaxed, relaxed! LOL

Is anyone feeling the HEAT? The heat index got as high as 111 this week. I couldn’t even stay in the pool too long as I was worried about getting fried and the water was actually more warm then cool. Whew, I fear what the summer will bring as it is only the beginning of July!

I grabbed this one up after reading Laurie’s review at Horror After Dark.

Sometimes they come back angry …

It’s been the same old, same old this week. All work and no play. But….. next week I get three days off in a row from both jobs! Know what I’m a gonna do? Nothing I don’t wanna. LOL Going to eat, have some cocktails, read, nap, watch the telly and take a nap or two!

I caved and hired someone to come this week and clean up my yard. It got away from me and would have taken forever. It’s going to be so neat and pretty. I think I’ll watch them work while floating in the pool. Or is that mean? LOL

I requested this from the publisher. And I got it!

And this is one I pre-ordered and just received. It sounds right up my alley!

It starts with reports on the news of an inland lake turning semi-solid.
Surely, a media joke, some lame April Fool’s prank?
The before and after pictures are vaguely ludicrous and oddly disturbing, the contrast stark and strange.
First, darkly rippling water that hints at hidden depths. Slightly spooky and perfectly normal. Next, a putrid blotch of clotted sludge which bears little resemblance to anything aquatic.

It isn’t a joke.
And pretty soon, that greasy, sickening substance isn’t confined to an inland lake.
It’s spreading. Flowing over fields and filling streets.
Each morning brings a new revelation. Countryside denuded of life and towns empty and echoing.

I’ve been feeling so lazy. The yard needs to be cleaned up. The house is a mess. I just can’t make myself do any of it. I’m going to blame it on new episodes of shows I’ve been watching. Some good movies. A bunch of good books. And laziness. LOL Oh and the pool! It’s been hot and a dip in the pool is a must at least once a day. That’s where I’m heading now!
