Challenge Guidelines
- This challenge will run from January 1, 2015 – December 31, 2015, and you can join at anytime.
- Books must be read and reviewed in 2015.
- Audiobooks, re-reads, short stories, and crossovers are fine.
- If you’re a blogger, grab the button below and create a post or page about this challenge and your goals with a link back to this post.
- You don’t have to be a book blogger to participate! You can track your progress on Goodreads, Shelfari, Booklikes, Facebook, LibraryThing, etc.
- Sign up on the designated Mr. Linky below with your post, shelf, etc. and comment on this post.
- I will make a post each month for you to link your reviews.
- There will be giveaways at the halfway point and at the end of the challenge in December.
Challenge Levels
1-5 horror books: Running Scared
6-10 horror books: Brave Reader
11-15 horror books: Fearless
16+ horror books: Horror Hound
My personal challenge goal will be Brave Reader to start since I’m also participating in several other challenges for 2015.
Looks I should have went for Horror Hound! I read and reviewed 35 horror stories and there are more I didn’t get added.

2016 Horror Reading Challenge Sign Up
Welcome to the Horror Reading Challenge. I loved this challenge and I’m excited that Stormi @ Books, Movies, Reviews, Oh My! Is co-hosting this year with Tracy @ Cornerfolds . It’s been changed a little bit and looks like it’s going to be another fun year!
Read on to check out the changes and sign up!
First of all are the challenge badges, which you will win by completing the highest number of books for that level. For example, to receive the Running Scared badge, you will have to read and review 5 books. These will be emailed to you at the conclusion of the challenge!
Another change is how reviews will be linked up. This year, instead of one linkup, we will be making a monthly post for your reviews! This way everyone will get a chance to check out what you’ve been up to!
Finally, giveaways will be handled a little differently this year. Halfway through the year, we will be hosting a giveaway of physical copies of some of our favorite horror books. Unfortunately, this giveaway will be for US participants only. At the end of the year, however, the badge you earn will also determine which giveaway you will be entered to win (see below)! The more books you read, the better prize you’ll be entered for!
- This challenge will run from January 1, 2016 – December 31, 2016.
- You can join at anytime before October 15, 2016.
- Books must be read and reviewed in 2016.
- Audiobooks, re-reads, short stories, and crossovers are fine.
- You don’t have to be a book blogger to participate! You can track your progress on Goodreads, Shelfari, Booklikes, etc.
- Sign up on the designated Linky below with your post, shelf, etc. and leave a comment letting us know what your personal goal is.
- Link up your reviews each month via the provided linky!
